My daughter went to SJRMC in the evening with what she believed to be a fractured vertebrae. After x-rays we re taken the ER doctor concluded she did not have any fractures. In the morning a Radiologist concluded that she did have several fractures in her vertebrae & couldn t understand why she was not admitted. Third world medical treatment.

Because of their stupidity I can't leave to go get anything to eat because of them I won't be able to get dinner. This Hospital is nothing but a joke. If I leave I lose my spot.
Overall, a very POSITIVE experience in this Emergency Department. Triaged quickly by a truly kindhearted RN, diagnostic testing was begun immediately despite busyness of ER. Phlebotomist and virtually all of the ancillary staff that I came into contact with were friendly and genuinely seemed to care. PA Todd (didn't catch his last name, sorry) took the time to take a thorough history of my issue and efficiently ordered further diagnostic testing, the results of which were carefully & comprehensively explained to me by the ER attending Dr. Jaronik. All of my questions were answered in terms I could understand, and my follow-up plan of care was clearly delineated. Having just moved here from NY, I feel blessed to have found a place where I could confidently bring my family for any emergency care needs.
Great hospitality. Nancy, the security guard, was amazing. She informed us that we couldn't see my dad due to it not being visiting hours but allowed me to speak to the nurse on the sixth floor. She did her job because of covid! Debbie said I could see him for 10 mins because we needed to leave and wanted to say goodbye. I am very appreciative and grateful they allowed me to see him due to being five hours away and a noon check out at our hotel. Debbie and the doctor Verda, knew what needed done and very kind to talk to let us know what was going on with my dad. Thank you all for what you do!
If I could give negative stars I would.Took my 1 year old here one night was tested for Covid and it came back negative. They gave her antibiotics for her lungs and we were sent home. Now a couple days later her symptoms have worsened and brought her back. Wife and I were wearing masks and the security officer demanded that we put a mask on our 1 year old (who tested negative for Covid) and was having trouble breathing. When I refused to put a mask on my 1 year old the security guard took it on herself to call us horrible parents. My 1 year old was refused service and security was called. My wife, my 1 year old and I were escorted out like we were criminals.
They're usually pretty good but sometimes you do have a bad experience for whatever reason. My daughter had foot surgery and the pain medication wasn't in in time so she was in excruciating pain. We went into the ER and they left her crying and begging for help on the table for over a hour saying the doctor was busy. It was awful and ive never seen her like that nor will I ever forget seeing my child crying , pleading and yelling. After more than a hour the doctor gave her a shot in the hip and the pharmacy was able to get her medication in. Why they made her suffer instead of helping sooner is beyond me
Sat here for hours to get inconclusive results that they definitely still charged to my insurance and was treated horribly by staff. There was no care by staff for the inconvenience or attempt to rectify the situation and ensure the patient still was taken of properly after discharge especially in light of the type of testing.
My mother was brought by ambulance to the emergency department after experiencing stroke symptoms. Upon arrival the EMS informed nurses about what was happening with her and told her she would be seen by a doctor soon. Well long story short. She was wheeled back into the waiting room where she stayed for five hours not being seen called a friend and had them pick her up. My sister and I ended up bringing her back the next day where she receive proper testing and a stroke was identified. Needless to say we are going to be having words with the administration at this hospital.
St. Joseph Hospital has guested me many times both as a patient and visitor. Each visit there has always been a positive experience. I've only gone to one other local large hospital and you'd think there wouldn't be much difference between the two. However, I did miss not being in St Joe's. St.Joseph Regional Medical Center will always be my primary choice of local area hospitals.
My daughter is 2 and struggling to breath. We've been here for almost 5 hours they've given her 1 breathing treatment and tested her for covid. Thats it doctor has been in 1 x. I've asked numerous times what is going on and nobody says anything but ill let your nurse know. Im from. Fort wayne I could've driven the extra hour and a half and been taken care of by now. This is a disgrace.
