This place is horrible. Firstly, my installation on my second home was not good, one of the pieces fell off and that signaled the police, earning me a $50 dollar false alarm fee for a mistake this place made. They also said I could leave my dog out because he wouldn't rigger the motion sensors, being under 50lbs (he was about 12lbs). That was a lie. Got another false alarm fee for that one, this time $100. Then they were taken over by AAA, unbeknownst to me, and it all goes down hill form there. Customer service, online usage, everything. I called to cancel three times, each time that said everything was set to be cancelled on the 19th of December. Now, on the 2nd of the next month, they're saying they have nothing on record for a cancellation, and I will be charged again. Oh, and now they just hung up on me while they were supposedly cancelling my account. Save yourself the trouble, get something smarter and cheaper that actually does it's job and gives you control of your account.
If I could give a zero I would. I live in a condo complex that Safeguard services. We have had issues with electrical panels/closets on several occasions. Service requires silencing an alarm that sounds every couple of seconds continually until fixed. The closets are located outside bedrooms in every condo. Every time we request service, it is multiple days before the issue is addressed. Their customer service is dismal at best. Would never recommend this company.
I am in the process of selling my home that has Safeguard equipment. I have made several calls to let them know we will be moving and have asked what steps need to be taken to get out of my contract. I have never received an answer. One phone call I was transferred to sales and they just wanted to sell me a system at my new home....we close in less than 30 days and I still don't have answers! Horrible customer service and no follow up unless they want to sell you a new system!
Equipment has not worked well since installation. When trying to schedule service to correct the issues, the response time was very slow and required 3 addition calls after the first call to get an appointment scheduled.
We have the leak detection system. It has been a nightmare since day one. The product is faulty, we weren't given full information about what is covered by this product, and the customer service is horrendous. Dozens of false alarms, then when a leak happens, the device didn't trigger resulting in extensive damage to our bathroom. I would not recommend this product or company to anyone. I would also give this 0 stars, if possible.
UPDATE: This is still not resolved. Supposedly, they are working on a solution to this problem. We have not heard anything except "working on it. we will be back to you". We have had two false alarms today. The supposed refund is nowhere to be seen.
This place has descended into below average customer service. As in, way below average. They are hard to reach, they accept payments and then don't post them to your account, they make it ridiculously hard to cancel your service and they don't seem to care about any of these things. I was a loyal customer for years; they have not been loyal to me. There are much better alternatives.
I have been a Safeguard Security customer since 2004. The company was always top notch in customer service probably because it was locally owned and operated. Since it was acquired by AAA there has been a marked decline in customer service. Unfortunately I m stuck with them since I don t want the big expense of having completely new equipment installed by another company. However, If I was looking for a new home security system and did not have an existing one I would definitely shop somewhere else.
We have been a safeguard customer for quite some time now. July 2018 we moved to a new house and put in an alarm system and we went with the sky bell doorbell. We have had nothing but problems with the doorbell and getting safeguard or AAA take care of the problem has been very frustrating. Now my problem is when you push the button the doorbell does not ring. I was on hold with customer support for over an hour so I hung up and called sales and they answered but tell me that they are still having challenges but they are working on it. I have now decided to dump my doorbell and purchase a ring door bell.
Safeguard used to be a good company but since AAA took over I feel customer service is no longer a priority and if I was not under contract I would leave.
Before Safeguard Security was purchased by AAA Smart Home the quality of service and customer response was top-notch. I loved it. But since the buyout, calling customer service on the phone has been frustrating, with on-hold times ranging from 10-30 minutes.
