Alkmaar has many restaurants, but Bistro Heerlijk Nel is head and shoulders above the rest.
You will find this cozy, intimate bistro in one of the most beautiful places in the city center. The food is of excellent quality and always deliciously prepared. That little bit of extra attention from the service makes you feel welcome. We had a delicious meal there again and think it is highly recommended. We will be back for sure!

Food is pretty good. I m a vegetarian myself and they have enough to choose for me and my family. The problem is that it takes really long, for 3 dishes it takes around 3 hours. Service has to be improved a lot

I ll keep it short. Cozy. Discreet... only 10 tables. Corona friendly. Excellent and attentive service. Simple menu that covered all choice u may have. Devils prawns are beyond words. Fair prices. Aanraader!!

Really disappointed I didn t discover this gem of a restaurant until the end of my stay in beautiful Alkmaar. As a solo traveller, I was warmly welcomed and made to feel very much at home. Delicious food well paced, and a cosy atmosphere complete the picture. It was recommended to me by a local whom I d been chatting with (always a good indication), and I was not disappointed. Thank you for a lovely evening, and hope to see you again
