We went through Safartica for several activities during our stay in Rovaniemi. The organization is very good, they provide all the necessary clothes and shoes. Some activities can be done on its own without going through an agency (this or another), including visiting the village of Santa Claus or that of Ranua, easily accessible by bus

At the entrance, you are honored with tea and cookies. Detailed explanation of each route. We went with them on a field trip for the northern glow boys we managed to catch. You definitely should book your tours with Safartica. They are so fun. And professional and their adventures is worth the price. I was traveling solo last week in Rovaniemi. Couldn t book anything online before in any office because all required 2 participants at least. So when i arrived, i just went to Safartica office in the city center, and Elena the GREAT, who was kind and helful, she just helped me book all what i really dreamed to do. I had the ice floating in the frozen lake with Jukka, who was really a kind and professional guide, we were a small group, had fun, although we didn t got to watch the Northen lights or even one single star while floating, still! It was a once in lifetime experience, don t miss it when you are in Rovaniemi. I have also done the aurora picnic, with the Italian and Spanish guides (who i really can t remember their name(sorry)).. that was a really really wonderful night, we could catch like maybe one aurora, but we drove away from the light pollution, and we just saw with our naked eyes, a sky full of stars, all kind of stars, we built fire, heard some history and information, fried some Finnish stuff and was a nice night in Rovaniemi. You absolutely should book your adventures with them, you won t regret this never. Coming back again for sure!!!

AVOID and DO NOT BOOK with Safartica- extremely disappointing snowmobile and customer service Unfortunately, I had a really bad and disappointing experience with Safartica. We booked Snowmobile night trip. The guide was nice and friendly but did not do proper health and safety briefing and totally failed to communicate and verbally advise that for 15 euros we could book an insurance and did not warn that if we do not, there will be huge financial implications. He gave us a piece of paper with small print on but in his own words he said: you do not need to read it, just put your names down. We skimmed it and were under the impression that we were just signing that we were not under the influence of drugs/alcohol etc. He was so casual and did not highlight the importance of the small print and possible damage costs. Luckily we were driving very slowly but we drove into a tree in a forest, there was hardly any damage and we continued the trip and snowmobile was working fine, we were advised to come back the next day to see what damage cost we would need to pay. When we came back the next day we were casually informed that they were expecting us to pay 500 euros!! (in addition to 240 we paid for the trip). When i questioned why we were not offered the chance to buy the insurance, they reduced the price to 250 euros, which i paid as did not want any more hassle. However, I feel we were cheated and mislead by the company and they did not follow proper health and safety briefing instructions, especially for tourists who of course had no experience in driving snowmobiles before. We felt, safartica took the advantage of the fact that we were only the two girls on the excursion and no witnesses and the fact that we were tourists. In other circumstances such as car hire, when there is a risk of high costs involved, I have been always verbally communicated that I had the option to buy insurance and if not I was clearly made aware of the implications. In addition, Safartica claimed that the part that got damaged was one of the most expensive parts on the list. As the maintenance person works for Safartica, I had no control over the damage and valuation cost which means they can quote whatever they wish to vulnerable customers. I wanted to speak with the manager, but was told to email Matti- COO, I sent 2 messages but he never responded so I advise you to avoid so you wont be cheated and you wont spoil your holiday and experience of Finland and Lapland.
Fantastic tour. Morning for Santa Claus, lunch in company, then snowmobile ride until reindeer training with sleigh ride. The Italian guide accompanied us throughout the day. It was exceptional, a thousand explanations, very patient with the children. In short, exceptional thanks to the guide !!!!

Safartica is one of the good agencies located in Rovaniemi and offer a verity of Lapland outdoor activities. We have order from them 3 trips: 1. Snowmobiles - To the Kingdom of Snow and Ice - this tour took around 4 hours in which we drove the snowmobiles from Rovaniemi to the Arctic Ice hotel and back. We also had a guided tour at the Ice hotel + hut lunch (Salmon on the grill with bread and some pancakes and icecream for desert. We enjoyed it very much. 2. Ice floating at night - in this trip we went out of the city till we got to a small pond, we got special suits which keep the water outside and responsible on the floating. It is a nice experience although a bit boring. 3. Ice Karting - wow, wow, wow. This was one of the funeir things we did here. We were only 5 in our group, so we managed to have around 5 (*12-15 minutes) times of driving and racing (if the group is bigger, it means each one will.manage to have only 2*10 minutes drive). It was so fun and cool to drive on ice.

I loved my time at Rovaniemi in Finland in June 2014, it was a fantastic trip, getting to know Santa Clau, the Rusk farm and the Reindeer farm. Unforgettable trip !!!
Fantastic staff, we took the evening escape it was awsome we saw the northing light clearly and one of the staff members set my profficional camera to capture the amazing scene of the solar activity, the suit and all the warm clothes were new and so clean.
Thank you Safartica for the great time in Lapland. We loved the snowmobiling with Pierre he is the great adventurer everyone wants to be. Great cook, lots of information and stories. So much fun to explore the surroundings of Rovaniemi. Husky sledding is a must do! We loved the kind girls who took us around and gave us sunshine even though there was a snowstorm.
Be careful what you book! We sell you the Aurora Borealis excursion even when they know there is none. All accompanied by a pick-nick with drink. If you don't like berry juice (local drink) you won't have anything else to drink too bad when you book with two small children. For what eats it will be a sausage, a pastry and a cookie. As far as we are concerned, we eat when we get home. In addition for 4 we had only 3 sausages because the guide we eat the 4th under the nose. All for 69 euros per person. Frankly flee.
Two days in Rome Niimi, I participated in the application of four accidents. On the first afternoon, Husky sleigh rides through snow-covered forests and is touched by a wonderful sunset. Evening Aurora Tour luckily succeeded. So pretty. The second day afternoon, snowmobiles run nicely over stunning rivers and lakes. Evening Aurora Floating is also good.
We have done a Aurora Borealis Picnic experience with Safartica. Yolanda & Patrick was our tour guide, and they were great and friendly. Overall the people in the Safartica Office are polite and friendly. In summary, it wouldn't go wrong by booking an excursion with them.

Excellent tour agency in Rovaniemi. I did four activities with them. (Reindeer sledges, boreal picnic, husky and snowmobile tour) They provide you with the cold clothes, the guides are great, you are well supervised. At the office, they speak several languages. (even french) For my next trip to Lapland, I will still call their service without hesitation.
The thrill of adventure was completely missing. Very disappointed about the duration as it lasted less the 2 hours as promised at the time of booking (snomobiling quick spin experience) Max speed of the snowmobile 40km/h.

Went on the floating tour with this company, I was very dissatisfied with the services. We went to a cabin with an outdoor toilet, I couldn't find the lights, handsoap or tissue. Not my idea of touring. I was surprised, they only took half of the people out at a time. The experience was great and our tour ladies were exceptional, I just didn't care for the tour.

We rented an apartment in Rovaniemi (Santalux) for a week through the company. Neat apartment, reasonably priced (season may explain), good location and level of equipment.
Snowmobiling was fantastic went to a reindeer farm where you get in a sleigh and the reindeer pulls you along the only trouble was the reindeer behind us caught up and bashed us all round the head with its antlers very dangerous lost an eye
We visited Finland in October 2015 and booked onto one of the evening Safari's in the hope of catching the Aurora Borealis. We were kitted out with plenty of cold weather gear and joined a small group of International visitors before being transported by minibus to a secluded lake side location in the Countryside. We spent a number of hours watching the skies followed by coffee & snacks around an open fire listening to stories. It was an incredibly memorable experience and I would thoroughly recommend and go again on any future trips to the Country.
I participated in three winter hikes with this operator. All excellent, from the thermal equipment to the guides. My tours have been Auror Pic Nic in the middle of the forest we saw a magnificent sunrise snowmobiling we chose the short ride having never had this type of experience, however very nice, we start from the center, we pass on the frozen lake and go up the hill in the forest to see the sunset Ice Floating one of the most incredible experiences, swimming in a frozen lake! The offices are in the center, easily accessible, in the same building there is their changing room where they will give you thermal clothing complete with boots, wool socks and gloves. The catalog of excursions to choose from is very extensive, with a winter and a summer section. Excellent reliable and serious operator
We did a great snowmobile tour. It was a night tour with barbecuing sausages in the wilderness and coffee juice tea etc. The trip went through forests and on the lake and was guided perfectly. Many thanks to Kimmo who led us and explained everything thoroughly, gladly again.

I booked some tours at this agency. The one for the Rauma Zoo was not funny, although the guide was friendly. They offer clothes more appropriate to the climate for those who go on excursions.
My wife & i were in Lapland this winter, in Rovaniemi, for a week in February. That was sincerely, one of our best travel in Northern Europe !!! Owing to Safartica actually. They're really fantastic. We've been on a snowmobile safari !!!! We would specially thank Jarno and Robert who made this safari really amazing !!! We had the chance to go to the Ice Karting next the Rovaniemi center, and we had a blast !!! Surely one of our best experience so far !!! Really funny !!! The staff are very attentive and they are waiting all the time. The trip we went to was "Looking for the Rens" where we went to "Raitola Reindeer and Husky Farm" where we took the snowmobile to go around and get where the Rens were. Once there they make a small ceremony and follow a mini round with the Rens, carrying the sleds, wearing hot drinks and a bite. A little talk explaining the lifestyle in Lapland and back with the bikes. Subjective opinion: maybe it would be a bit more snowmobile.
We waited in the given meeting point (in the street X) for more than 10 minutes to the given meeting time and another 40 minutes after the given meeting time, but they never showed up. We also tried to call them several times, but the given number can t be reached. We also send them emails only to find automatic responses which are definitely not the best and not the expected response.
The guide for my snowmobile short trip was really cool and it was so fun for me, hope to come for aurora chasing again soon!

I've been there with my cousin and a friend and we decided to buy a couple of escursions, one with the dogs and the otherone with the snow mobile. We were a little scared becouse of the prices, but when we came back form the first one (with the dog, on an iced Lake, at the sunrise) i realized that only that few hours were worthed the price of the whole holliday....and the trip was not cheap :-) . When i'll go back to lapland i'll run back to safartica to choose what i'm sure will be a new amazing experience...great job guys.
Well... you better read the comment before booking anything ! The day was catastrophic !!! We booked it for the length (60km and approx. 3h driving). WE NEVER DROVE OVER 40 KM/H and kept the ECO MODE on the snowmobile (which slows the engine down after speeding over 40km/h) 10 KM/H through the forest (1h long..) and 30 KM/H on a big open area (frozen lake)! Despite that soon after departing we asked to slightly speed up, they replied to us "we must follow the slowest snowmobile". Well.. when the slowest is at max speed on the frozen lake I would wonder who did we follow? Them, or the guide that didn't want to go faster? And even though there was, perhaps, a very slow driver.. when there are two guides for 7 snowmobiles you should split up! At least for the last part to let us enjoy some more speed ! Security is surely one thing, but you should adapt for your customers, in my opinion. On top of that, we prebooked two snowmobiles of 1 driver and ended up waiting 30 minutes at the starting.point for them.to check that we had actually booked it this way. If we hadn't complained they would have sent the two of us on 1 snowmobile.. Good point : the lunch was tasty (grilled salmon) and the smowhotel guided tour was very typical! Though, those two points aren't worth the price. Conclusion: This ride was a disaster!
We left 30 minutes late (but recovered upon return). In itself the experience was chaotic. The staff should make customers more aware of the basic rules to follow: - maintain behavior appropriate to the situation (if I wanted to hear screams and chaos I went to the Rio Carnival) -respect those who take pictures (the light of flashes and torches bother). Another sore point: picnic? They are just 2 wurstel. Maybe next time I will try to inform me if I expect a quiet evening in the woods or a rave party.

A big RIP-OFF and waste of money!!! We (a friend of mine and myself) booked the evening escape-snowmobile safari and camp fire for 169 each (single driving). The lady at the reception promised us a tour of between 20-30 km like it is shown on the flyer. The gear for the tour you get is average. Helmet, scarf, gloves, shoes and an overall (all included). Once you are dressed the shuttle is waiting for you outside to get you to the start point which was a 30 minutes drive from the town office. After a short 5 minute introduction about how to handle the snowmobile the tour started (the tour guide didn t inform well and looked like he was in a rush). It was a 30 minute ride to the camp fire place with an average speed of around 10 Km/h. Which means a total distance of around 5 km. We stayed there for about 45 minutes. The way back to the shuttle service was slightly longer than 30 minutes and also 5 km. That means in total we did 10 km in one hour which is not even close to 20-30 km what we got promised on our booking and which also is written on the brochure. I exactly know the distance because it is shown on the display on the snowmobile!!! Being honest, it is only a safari for children and parent s never experienced something similar before. NOT WORTH THE MONEY for somebody looking for an adventure!!! Even after having asked the tour stuff how many km we did today, one of the guys answered that with an average speed of 20 km/h we made a total distance of at least 20 km. Which was just a big lay. NEVER AGAIN SAFARTICA - In my opinion this is purely a rip off for tourists

Super attentive and friendly staff. The guides are great and the winter tours are all top. We closed the evening escape and spent a very pleasant night driving a snowmobile and picnicking in the middle of the frozen forest. There are several types of tours but the best are those in search of the northern lights. The price is expensive but they include transport and special clothing for the Arctic climate. Most tours also include a meal or snack. In Rovaniemi there are several agencies but this one exceeded expectations and in all contracted services they were punctual and friendly.
We made two trips with them (Snowmobiles and Northern Lights picnic). From the first moment the deal was impeccable. They care about you, why you are comfortable and that you are having fun. The Northern Lights tour was fine. The aurora we saw did not have much intensity, but the picnic and the stories that the guides told us made it very worthwhile. What a unique and rewarding experience! Very recommendable And with luck you will find guides who speak Spanish;)
Great agency for booking tours for every taste and desire. Very helpful guides and staff. Everyone knows English at a good level. Everything went at a decent level. Prices are of course tolerant for Finland. They took a 3-day walk on deers, a picnic in search of Aurora and rode snowmobiles. They give out free warm boots, socks, overalls, gloves and a helmet. Everything was cool, of course, because of the clouds, it was not lucky to see the northern lights. But in general, everything else has brightened up this disappointment. I recommend as an agency for the selection of tours.
Greatfull, fantastic and amazing. The experience during our wedding trip was incredible, the treatment of Sebastian and the rest of our partners, they made us very pleasant all the time even waiting for you and about the development of the activities although unfortunately we could not see Northern Lights, but the time in the woods in the middle of nowhere as well as driving a snowmobile at night is incredibly beautiful. EXCURSION MADE: Aurora picnic. The sunrise was not seen (but obviously it's not their fault!) We spent an hour pleasant to eat sausage and sweets in front of the fire chatting about this and that with our two guides (a woman and a man) asking how both life for the locals. Recommended!
Did 2 hour snowmobile trip. No problems, all kit provided. Byron did a great job allowing us to go a bit quicker as as few more e experienced riders. Good fun trip.

If there is an activity to do, it is this: Sledge drawn by huskies. Majestic landscapes, with the sunset and an iridescent sky on one side, and on the other side, the moon all round. We crossed woods, fields, ... Really great! And the dogs are really nice!
We booked a husky ride with safatica and it was a great experience! Just one thing, that I already told the staff at the office. Even though you're asked where you are staying at when you book the tour, check the mail where the meeting point for your is. Other companies are driving to every single hotel (which is nonsense if they are all in a walking distance of 10 minutes) but still, I got confused and had to rush to the office to be on "time". Thanks again for waiting safatica :D

I have done a lot of safaris with this company (ice floating, picnic and night snowshoeing, snowmobiling, ice fishing) and I was very satisfied with their service. All the informations were accurate, there were no problems before or between safaris. I was also lucky to get the same guide on most of the safaris. He was trustworthy from the start. He put a lot of effort into making activities comfortable to us and the outcome was exactly what we/I wanted. Full experience! I highly recommend it! And again- big thanks to the guide M.S.!

We took a snomobile ride with Safartica and it was exhilarating the group is little big but it doesn't matter when you are enjoying the snowmobile and the panoramic views.. Safartica provides amazing overalls , gloves , shoes , helmets which definitely helps in the biting cold ! We had a great time with Safartica !

A surrealist experience. We were taken to a forest to see beautiful aurora boreales with barbecue sausages shamallow and hot blue berry juice. Adorable animators and well watch harrison and his colleague who mastered the fire to perfection even by -20. Thanks again.

Tried out Safartica.. The conductor of our tour trip to the snow on snowmobile was very arogant and not very caring to us since we don't speak english is well. We from china. We is not good snowmobile drivers. First is time. But the conductor of our trip is very arogant person. We fell off a few times but is conductor keep on moving away from us. There was no protection from the far end. Only 1 conductor is of this tour. It should to have is a second conductor at the end of the line to protect us all. This was not the case. The arogant conductor didnt take care of us very much. He was very rushing is for everthing even rush to go back to finish. I dont no why the rush for. It made us more dangerious and no protection to protected is for us on snowmobile. We are the last person at is of the end of the line. I will not recommend Safartica because you will not expect is expectacions for what you paid for. Very expensive and very little caring. It ruined out expensive tour trip is for us that this conductor was 1 person and he was very arogant and didn't talk much to us to see if we are ok. There are better tourist companyes out there. Dnt fall victim like the rest of us all. (Is to use english google translation)
We had booked for Northen Light Safari in the month of January 2018. My partner had a sprain in his leg which was making it a bit painful for him. The Safartica staff who came to pick us from our accommodation was Amelia (I hope I have spelled it correctly). She was extremely supportive and went all the way out of the box to make it better for my partner in terms of providing medication and applying bandage. The night was unpredictably cloudy and so unfortunately we couldn't see the northern light as wished for. But, it didn't matter so much to us as we already had the sighting of the Northern Lights from Iceland. We had a wonderful time with the whole team. Amelia made the traditional Finnish Hot Berry Juice which was just outstanding. It was a bonfire picnic in the Arctic wild. Thank you Safartica and a very special thanks and warmest wishes to Amelia. She is an asset to your tour company.

Good experience in the adventure sports company, the prices are very high but it is worth the experience. If they had more affordable prices, you could buy several tours.
Very recommended. The reasons are: 1. The people are very good, both the front desk and the team leader are very good. 2. The price of the event is not low, but the experience is worth the RMB. We chose the reindeer sled experience at night. The whole process was pretty good.
