Such a beautiful, sacred place with a friendly, diverse congregation. Homilies are incredible, and to me the biggest example of the devotion of the priests to the welfare of their congregation is the fact that confessions are offered every single day before every mass! I have never heard of this level of committment before and it is inspiring.
There is a wealth of tradition behind why Catholic churches are built and furnished as they are and it is fascinating. Much of it is decended from the Jewish synagogues. The CoCathedral offers tours, generally on Sunday afternoons, that are well worth a visit! Check the website for when they are available and be sure to check it out.

This church makes me feel it is an honor onto itself and not God's holy house. See the Church of the Annunciation. 150 years old versus 10. The priest at Co-cathedral are great.
I became friends with a very dear and tender-hearted homeless man in downtown named Mr. Green. Mr. Green knows and reveres the Lord and brings Him honor in the best ways that he knows how. Mr. Green and I sit together several times each week and discuss the Lord over breakfast and a coffee. One day, after many months of getting to know each other, he asked me Did you know there s a church near the Greyhound station a big beautiful building, and lotsa nice looking people and nice cars be going there, but our kind aint welcome? I said really how so he said they won t let no homeless even come in there and there s a security guard that tells ya to move it on along . Then he cautiously asked me, how do people be sayin they worshipin the Lord and doing that, is that right sir? . I said actually it s quite simple they must not be following Christ in the way that Christ instructed them and they are carrying a heavy burden which no man can possibly carry (this is precisely why Jesus came to save people, who cannot save themselves). You see, Jesus came to be with sinners and fellowship with the weak and the weary, as He said in Matthew 11 28 Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and YOU WILL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS. 30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light. So I told Mr. Green that they just need correction and that we should pray for them, that we should pray especially for those who carry the heavy burden of works, because you see the Bible does not teach about man s works as a way to salvation, it teaches about faith in Jesus alone as the way to salvation (the only way) and this topic led us to into a beautiful and rich discussion about scripture, faith, grace, Christ and ultimately God s glory! Lord, we know that you can even use a weak and weary homeless man to accomplish your will. Thank you Lord for Mr. Green and for coming to us, as a lowly servant as you did so long ago and continue to each day. - Amen
Though this is a large church, it keeps the mystery and awe of God's presence in the cathedral architecture. The parish community is warm and inviting.
When I move to Houston ,I didn't had a regular church to go to,when I saw this church in town ,by way going to work , , like God was calling me come in , thank you Jesus
An incredible and an amazing Cathedral. It is breathtaking, peaceful and tranquil! No matter how many times I attend Mass or just visit the Cathedral outside of Mass, it always feels like the first time. Every time is a different experience - I just continue to be amazed by its phenomenal beauty. God is Good
Beautiful place the security guard was amazing and friendly he even informed us of it name and how it came to be. It's the Co-Cathedral because of a cathedral located elsewhere shared it's same status. Granting this location a higher status because how powerful and populated Houston was becoming. What a great stop! See it if you're downtown.
This is a church. Awesome place to go learn on a Sunday or anytime you are in need of God in your life. It does not get that busy so it's great overall.
