I contacted these people 3 times over a 1 month and half period. Ended up getting my lights turned off by my apartment's and now bouncing around from home to home. I did the application on Sunday night as instructed. It went thru all 3 times and never did anyone contact me just an email saying they receive my application and someone will be in contact shortly. AND NEVER DID I RECEIVE ANYTHING. Thanks SAMMinisries for putting our family out in the streets.

I'm grateful for my case Manager Alba G., who went above and beyond to get me into a resource that has put me in a hotel, and off the streets homeless. Now that I have a new case Manager it appears that the personnel at samministries have chosen to disregard any other issues I currently have. Today I had to really bang hard on both the front and back doors of their 503 address over and over before anyone took the time to see who was knocking. I've told Alba that it strongly appears to me that she is over inundated with work to effectively help anyone. I have the text on my phone that I did tell her I would be by today, but she obviously didn't tell any of her coworkers to expect me. I think she may be ill , and if so then her temporary lapse of concern for my issues is excusable. But please lighten her load. No one can carry as much responsibility as she does.

They're assistance program has been amazing with lending help to renters who otherwise may be facing eviction in time of need during this COVID-19 crisis! Fast and responsive, providing above and beyond customer service as well as taken a huge burden off of some who are truly struggling right now! Huge thanks to this program!

I can't put into words how great this nonprofit is!! Helpful & friendly staff and just great all around place!

ZERO STARS--oNE IS LIT BECAUSE IN ORDER TO POST, YOU HAVE TO GIVE AT LEAST ONE STAR---I have asked for help two times and was denied without reason. My son and I have been homeless since the first request. I do not understand why a family that needs rental help would have to enter their TWO YEAR program IF they already have a home, this is not why I was denied help, as I stated, I was denied help without any reason at all nor any contact with someone from here, AND we are still homeless.

Can't get no help from nobody or organization I have 3 weeks before I get thrown out of my apartment, I'm a diabetic and disabled person and on limited budget. Isn't there anymore ministries that can help me pay just this once.

Great place to contact if need help with food and housing

I called for help while I wait for my VA claim to go through. They informed me that I needed a final eviction notice before they could help me. Once I brought them the notice, they said I should have come there sooner, and that they couldn't help me in time. I knew that I would need help months ago. They made me wait until it was too late to contact ANYONE else for help. The constable will be here tomorrow. Thanks for playing games with me. As if I'm not screwed in the head enough as it is.

I am truly grateful for SAMMS Ministries. They provided me with rent assistance this past year when I was facing hard times due to my service connected PTSD. Jeff Anderson is nothing short of awesome. He truly went above and beyond the call of duty for me, serving as a mentor and offering me continued support for almost two years now. He was proffesional and efficient. He is a hardcharging Marine Corps veteran dedicated to the highest standards of excellence.... and the guy has a heart of gold. I honestly don't know where I would be if I hadn't met Jeff. SAMMS Ministries offers two monthly groups for vets (one for women). They are not like group therapy, but rather serve more as roundtable discussions to encourage participants to gain greater self awareness, which promotes health and wellness. If you are a veteran, and you need any kind of assistance, this is the place to get it. Reach out and SAMMS will extend a helping hand to lift you up. I was always treated with dignity and respect here and you will be too. Thanks to all at SAMMS Ministries for all you do to support San Antonio veterans!!!

Community services for homeless, but I found them bureacratic and slow, not helpful for my client.

I did not have a welcoming experience with this organization. I was shocked to see how they handled themselves when i asked for information or resources about being homeless and pregnant. I was hung up on finally after the 5th call they answered again and were fustrated to help me. In which case they did nothing to help basically letme know there was nothing i could do. It heartbreaking that good people donate to places like this and dont have clue how they handle the organization. I do feel alot of review on here were relatable.

Severely need a 24/7 open kitchen....esp: an extra dining area 4 snacks & drinks!!!

Of course alot of people need help for certain reasons . I'm a veteran and I'm not saying im entitle to anything but for the assistance I needed I turned in all my paperwork minus a social security card for my oldest son ( he recently came to my possession so I have not received one for him yet) and because I don't have it I can't receive any help . My family and i are in a situation and samm ministries was willing to help but didn't because of that .

In less than one year, San Antonio Metropolitan Ministries has misused government and local funds and donations. Clothes, toys, and other accessory donations from the public are rarely seen or even used by SAMMs residents. I have also been witness to this business throwing out 4 families; a majority with young children. The reason for the removal of these families were a multitude of contrived and erroneous excuses to protect SAMMs. In case notes, staff will update the client status with "transferred to Haven for Hope transitional facility". This note ties in with the terminated residents' assurance a room is secured for them at Haven for Hope. This is not the case and even the Intake workers at H4H notice the discrepancy. SAMMs literally puts families on the street when they get tired of them. There have been countless more families treated in this fashion for the last two years of my knowledge.

They want people to donate furniture and other things but they don't want to pick it up, they're supposedly not allowed to take anything that's not on the first floor? Seriously? They don't need any help, they're selling stuff they got for free. They ask for donations but don't want to pick it up

Honestly they don't even deserve one star but I had to put one star on there just to be able to post the fact that they don't really help too many people. They just offered help in front of other people because it sounds good but they don't really help too much. They quit talking to you after you refuse to go to a shelter. I guess they figure you're okay then. If that's the work of God then I don't need it. I need help from real Christian.

On website it states they help people who are about to become homeless, and that is not the case for my friend, they we quicker to pick up furniture I donated! Shame on them.

Trying to get mattress for our children called to get quote on twin size mattress and the cheapest on started at $108.00, Helping homeless how that's ridiculous

This place don't help, when someone really need help, the operator just said call 211... Really?? Thank you for nothing

Great people, doing amazing things to support the community. We applaud their efforts in doing all that they can to reduce and eliminate homelessness. The collaboration of the training programs and supportive assistance provides foundational one-stop services.

A great organization with a real big heart for helping those struggling, the homeless including families. really appreciate their mission and their professionalism...

I found myself struggling to pay our CPS bill after my husband developed end stage renal failure and lost his job. I submitted the application online and received a very rude and condescending phone call the next day. She was talking down to me like I was a child. She basically told me she could not help me even though I had a disconnection notice. I decided to go to CAM and what a difference. It was like night and day. They paid my bill right away, no questions asked.

Samministries is a much need service they help me get on my feet as a person and as a buisness I love what they are doing for the community...

We had a volunteer project here, and the work that they are doing for homeless families is amazing.

The campus is very clean, and they are all very good people. They have a child care center for the residence as well a Library/computer lab, And a very nice play ground for the kids. Even better they have a cooking area for the families to utilize and there own FULL SIZE REFRIGERATOR. A exercise room, and MUCH MORE. I GIVE THIS PLACE A

Maybe if I would've had a different case worker it would have been better but mine was horrible gots to say it was better than some places tho

As a single mother at the time I was VERY blessed and Thankful for Sam Ministry for helping me and my family. Of course it s a CHALLENGE but if your strong minded and have heart you can go through life, my own struggles. Glad we had support from every angle with this shelter.

Great people ur independent of ur self and child or children lots of play mates for the kids can't wait to get my life back on track thank u Jesus.....

Lived there for two years and I am on my feet again ...God bless them
