We called S Albert to replace the commercial glass on an interior window looking into our conference room. The estimator showed up on time, was professional, and had a tech out to replace it the next day. Call these guys if you need a commercial glass repair in Baltimore.

My patio door would not close properly. The manufa...

My patio door would not close properly. The manufacturer and several neighbors recommended S. Albert Glass. The repair was more time consuming and far more expensive than expected, but they did fix the issue. The experience could have been much better. I do not recommend this company.

They quickly dispatched a technician to investigate. He determined that the handle mechanism had broken; it no longer lifted the locking pins along the edge of the door. The company initially quoted $904.16 for the repair. When I balked at the price, they lowered it to $734.96. I approved the revised estimate and waited a little over two weeks for the part to arrive.

Craig, the Operations Manager, contacted me by email to say the parts arrived and scheduled installation the very next day. I didn t receive a call during the scheduled time, so I called the company, only to be told the technicians were outside. I found them; they had the parts for another customer in my condo building and had been trying to locate that person for the past half hour. Due to a mix-up in the office, they didn t have the work order or parts for my door. The other person wasn t expecting the technicians.

The office apologized and rushed the parts from the warehouse to me while the technicians went to help another nearby customer. When the parts arrived, I was shocked to find the tiny box contained a few ounces of plastic parts, a small metal slide, and a few screws. While I d been told the parts just arrived, I also noticed the shipping document indicated the parts were to have been received over eight days earlier.

I waited for the crew to return. They were respectful of my apartment, offering to cover their shoes when working in the carpeted bedroom. The immediately reported that the parts were not adequate to fix the door. They instead needed a handle and slide mechanism, which happened to be the exact part they d arrived with for the other customer.

Thinking quickly, they offered to use that part on my door, warning that it would be a higher price but that they could not tell me what the new price would be. After investing most of the day in fixing this already, I told them to move ahead, but that I already felt the amount I d been paid was more than enough. Two weeks after the repair, the business office called to inform me that due to the additional parts, I would be charged another $211.50.

I ve now paid almost $950 to fix what seems to have been a relatively simple and straightforward issue. While the technicians were friendly and efficient, the disorganized back office and sky-high prices left me feeling cheated.

Not a fan, they do actually have a few good employees. Including the install crew. But either management needs to change or the way they do things. Glass was measured to the wrong dimensions. Which normally isn't a big deal but it was a minimum of a 5 week turn around each time. Which again I have no problem with, I get it, back log, manufacturing etc. It was the fact I had to call and hound them over and over again to figure out when the install was going to be scheduled. Also to figure out where the glass was. Basically a 5-6 week process took almost 6 months. It got a little out of hand towards the end, the glass was physically in their shop for over a month. And I had to call multiple times to just be able to schedule a time for them to come put it in. Customer got fined for non compliance, and I had to foot the bill. Again I do believe they have a few good employees, but the lack of communication/ coordination between the departments and the customers would drive anyone to the brink of insanity.

This being said, management has reached out recently and has taken steps to make sure this wouldn't happen to someone again. I definitely appreciated the gesture. I will definitely give them credit for caring about their customers, some companies wont even give you the time of day.

Called these guys for an emergency door repair. Customer service was rude. First thing she said was we can't send someone out today. I asked we are a commercical business with operating hours after 5pm. She replied hold on let me see. 10 minutes later they come back with a quote of $375 plus parts and labor to come out! WTH??? So because it's 10 minutes after closing you quote me $375 and we are right around the corner? No thanks!

Great experience! I manage a business in PG county and due to high winds our front office door blew open and shattered the glass. I called S Albert Glass and they had a person here in one hour, cut the glass on site, and got our door fixed. Their office communicated well and the price was reasonable. I'd definitely recommend using these guys again.
