Very nice french restaurant with affordable pricing next to south part of Central Park. Lunch menu has pre fixed $29 menu for three course meal which is the bargain. Both appetizers and main entrees are delicisious. Deserts such as cheesecake and creme brulee are awesome as well. Certainly try this place as you get the best of price and quality.

Rue 57 made a lasting first impression by the friendly and welcoming greeting we received. I was impressed that they struck a conversation with my 7 year old daughter; it showed they cared about their little diners.

Our appetizer was the tuna tartare and it was well balanced and flavorful. We had the Dover sole and lamb entree and both dishes were exceptional. The lamb was cooked perfectly and the Dover sole was well seasoned. I loved the tiny lemon wedges that accompanied the sole.

Our dessert was by far, one of the best desserts I have had in quite some time. It was a dessert trio consisting of a lava cake, chocolate gelato and caramel ghetto with caramel. My daughter and I devoured the plate!

Additionally, I highly recommend their lychee martini. It s deliciously potent.

Best service ever, intimate date at this amazing location. The food was great, the oysters were so delish, we order 2 more dozen, including a plate of steak, sea bass and more. I love when finishing my glass of wine how attentive a server is to be sure to fill you up. Relax, and dine at this sophisticated location.

I cannot remember ever being served such a large cup of coffee and every sip was more heavenly than the last. The staff are attentative and all very exquisite. I was in awe of the floral arrangements which, I believe where cherry blossoms not only real but covering the entire restaurant. Every moment was what one hopes to experience during a NYC brunch.

This place should hire more people as we have been waiting for more than 10 minutes and nobody was able to serve us due to the crowd. The lunch deal is 29 pounds and the meat dishes are around 40.

Good proximity to where I was staying. Unfortunat...

Good proximity to where I was staying. Unfortunately everything else was not really good. Given the 4 star rating, I was surprised. Hopefully an off night. It was not busy but that is partly why I am disappointed. Service and quality should have been spot on. The waiter was slow and inattentive, choosing to allow secondary staff to serve pretty much the whole time. I was one of three tables in the waiters section so really no excuse. I ordered a fresh beet salad, which was excellent. Then I ordered the grilled salmon which was terribly overcooked. I ended up just eating it because the staff never came back to find out how the food was. I actually think the plate was put under a warming light because I'm pretty sure I saw the secondary staff come out with the plate while I was eating my salmon and then turned around with the plate and disappeared. Poor timing on their part. I come from the northwest and expect salmon to be cooked properly. I would have thought the east coast and a fine dining establishment to do well in that area. Pretty much the only thing that was deserving of a better than average rating was the beet salad and the rest of the food and service was average at best. Hope others have a better experience.

Miso glazed sea bass was perfectly done. Salad, well prepared food, but nothing particularly unique or outstanding. All entrees had a significant vegetable, not overcooked. Arrive at 10:30pm when other kitchens are closing, and you can still order from an extensive menu. Rue 57, despite sounding French, does not seem to specialize in one type of food; you will have some French choices some pastas with Italian sauces, a variety of options. Service very good. Most of the non sushi item are pretty heavy, but the menu also offer a lot if sides-- brussel sprouts, green beans etc.

Visited restaurant on Sunday and we had a great experience. We were as party of 7. We never felt rushed. The food was terrific with some of us eating lunch entrees and others had breakfast entrees. The staff was outstanding. Every person we encountered was friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend this restaurant.

very noisy.our waiter Umberto, did not speak or engage in conversation of any kind. hovered over us and we felt rushed to order, eat and leave.
he never came back to the table to check on us. ask how the food was, if we needed anything else etc. ordered burger medium well and it was almost rare and fries were cold. shoved desert menu at us and did not even ask if we cared for desert.
meatloaf was ok, not great.
service awful, felt like and assembly line

My experience at Rue 57 is that it's an up scale restaurant with upscale food and prices to match. The service there was great, our server was a career server who knew when to interact with us and when to leave us to our conversation. The food tasted great, it was portioned like it was built with the purpose of flavor containing quality items. I've only eaten there once but would not hesitate to go back.

Warm, cozy atmosphere, and pretty affordable for NYC. Ordered the chef's special sushi roll, salmon, tuna, advocado wrapped in kelp paper with ikura and special sauce. It was yummy :) Also ordered dessert, can't remember the name, but it was 3 puff pastry with vanilla ice cream in the middle, and chocolate sauce, fantastic!

One of my favorite restaurants. I try and go there every time I visit the city. Rice tuna appetizer, and braised short ribs Benedict are some of my favorite things in the world. This is "last meal" kind of stuff. The hangover breakfast is a great value to split. Friendly professional services. Charming atmosphere.

The food is delicious. We ordered a lot of appetizers and they were much better than the main course. The resturant is expensive. I'd say try it once but it's not a spot I'd go often. I had the fried chicken as my main course but didn't like it.

This restaurant isn't far from work so when we have visiting colleagues, this is a go-to. The service is consistently good. The waitstaff are friendly. One of my favorite entrees is the fried chicken. It's delicious! It's more than I can eat, but I take home the leftovers and make a nice lunch the next day.

I really enjoyed the place! Ordered a burrito, my wife a skirt steak and enjoyed both. For me, the mayonnaise with garlic is a must. We were at a table with three children, and the waiter was super patient to take the order from them. I had an espresso at the end, also yummy. We got a treat toast.

I booked a reservation for my husband and I a coup...

I booked a reservation for my husband and I a couple weeks before visiting NYC to celebrate our anniversary. In the reservation it asks if you are celebrating an occasion so I noted it would be our anniversary. When we arrived the hostess was very rude. Her facial expression and posture showed that she did not want to be there. She was wearing a very short jumper that didn't seem appropriate for the venue and she didn't even greet us. She took the menus and just walked away without a word for us to follow and show us our table. We noticed this same attitude or worse with other diners after us. The waiters were excellent but I am rating the service lower because of the awful hostess.
The food was good but very expensive. Even though I was asked in the reservation and noted an anniversary, there was no mention of it by the waiters or hostess. There is no obligation for the restaurant to do anything but I would expect that if asking during the reservation process was part of it, that the hostess or waiter should have made mention of it and thanked us for dining with them on a special occasion.
Overall, the atmosphere is good, food was okay but I wouldn't recommend it due to the prices and bad experience with the hostess.

Good service, friendly staff, decent enough food and coffee for the price. The hostess is friendly unlike the ones at most other Manhattan establishments so that was a pleasant surprise. My Cobb salad had some undercooked chicken and the waitress was nice enough to comp my second coffee because of it. In retrospect, I probably should've spoken up sooner but being the polite Londoner that I am, I shy away from such uncomfortable conversations and have suffered the consequences many times. Now, off to the pharmacy for some precautionary Imodium.
P.S : Please do try the other dishes as they looked yummy and none of the other folks seemed to be clutching their stomachs in agony.

Not too bad, close to central park so very tourist oriented, the usual midtown restaurant, crowded, casual, very noise and without personality: not too bad, not too good, reliable but forgettable. However, drinks and food are honestly decent, service is somewhat fast and good, and prices are very reasonable.

Pretty french bistro on Billionaires Row. Close to Central Park, Radio City, etc. Not impressed with their menu. No vegan options. Sushi is limited to hand rolls and pom frites appetizer looked and tasted like they were not fresh and fried more than one time.
