Rucksack inn is a fantastic place to live in. Just few parts are not in use but it's really good.

Conveniently located near buses and MRT. Budget hostel
Honest opinion - best hostal from 6 I have stayed...in terms of space ,staff, safety, location is good -two MRTs and 133 bus that takes you just outside Gardens by bay...8/10 very good. ( not 10 /10 bacause showers downstairs need a bit maintanance but you have choice with the one upstairs..and roof top can be organized better ..
Very nice place for budget traveler. It is near MRT station and bus stop. They give you bread for breakfast too. You can ask for safe if you bring your expensive goods with you
Definitely will come here again.
I'm really scared. I'm very scared. Kindness / bathroom shower room. Good sliding door / bed cover pillow door. Bedding is dirty / curtains every bed. Cozy / air conditioning is all right / luggage is uncomfortable / I was worried about sleeping. I am worried / I do not smell my feet in the shoe box / I do not have a sole on the floor / I have a hanger with a hanger / I do not need a multi adapter I do not have a towel /
self and my wife stayed here for 5 days. Great place to stay. clean and neat. Bathroom facilities are excellent. they even provide breakfast/ tea/ coffee. lockers are available for free. common area at reception is great to spend time and make new friends. Rooftop is also good to spend evening. Hostel rules are clear and crisp. staff is cordial and friendly.
Had a good stay in Rucksack Hostel. The location is really convenient.
Close to the bus terminal, to the lavender MRT station is also close ... the place is comfortable, the staff is friendly and friendly, affordable prices, clean place ...
The place is very clean and it's staff is very helpful
a great place to stay and easy to locate, i perfect place for group/friends/family.
Very accommodating and helpful staff!! Unfortunately when we went there they ran out of indoor sleepers so we were barefooted for our first night and got sleepers ourselves the nxt day!!! Loved how u can fit so many people in one room, recommends it for family travels! Also a boys and girls share washroom, did not really enjoy that :(
The personnel was very welcoming and helpful during all our staying. Breakfast is included and lasts from 7am to 12am, you can have tea or coffee and toasted bread with marmalade, butter, peanut butter and a Nutella like cream. You can't walk in with shoes so you must place the on the rack before entering (there's a camera on the entrance). Bathrooms are cleaned regularly and it has a rooftop access where usually people hang out. In the end it's a really good offer for the price.
Got what expected for the price. Nice to have the rooftop and breakfast and coffee
Only a 10 minute walk from the MRT station. Staff really helpful and friendly, they give you discounts if you buy attraction tickets through the hostel. Free cold water all day which is great.
The best hotel that i never seen untill now. GO THERE!
An okay budget hostel/inn (u get what u pay, btw) located in lavender st (about 10-15 min walk to the nearest MRT: Lavender/Boon Keng), it is surrounded by a lot of Spa nearby.
i can give 1 star more if we were not welcomed by smelly shoe rack (well, because it is home-like inn, where shoes are not allowed in) straight in front of the narrow stair entrance
The staff is friendly, resourceful, and very helpful, the place is clean and comfy
The Hostel is a very safe place to stay. The rules made by the hostel are very strict and it's a place where you can sleep, eat, bathe, relax, etc according to you and no one else will bother you
They always clean everyday. The comfort rooms, rooms and kitchen are well managed.
well, for a bed and breakfast, its quite good. but the space between lower and upper bunk is quite tight
Nice and budget friendly accomodation. The place is okay and the staff are very friendly.
My first time to stay at a hostel. The experience is worth-sharing...I definitely recommend this place to anyine
I like the facilities there, every morning they give bread, tea, and coffe for breakfast, but the toilet is mixed not female or male toilet alone, we need to share the toilet with man or woman
Very suitable for backpackers the price is in the pocket
It's hostel not a good very small space also shoes left out side the hostel
A cool and cozy hostel !
They've even got these sort of global plugs so euro us or U.K. Works in the bunk beds! The main lobby is a nice little nook to hang out in and smells like lemongrass and the area is convenient! When I come back to Singapore this is where I'd stay !
Rucksack Inn is one of the best hostels in Singapore.
It is a perfect combination of economical, lively, neat and clean.
The staff is very cooperative and helpful.
The hostel has a very friendly and lively environment.
One can just spend the whole day in the common area speaking to other guests.
They have very informative travel books and maps and tour tickets etc. Ask the hostel staff for help.
The breakfast is good.
You may play games like chess and dats etc at the hostel.
There is 24 hour free WIFi.

Great choice for staying while you are visiting Singapore. Quite cheap and affordable, easy access of public transportation, and lots of amenities such as wifi, AC, breakfast, and of course the best one 'The Rooftop'. Approved quality by me!
Good and strategic place. only 5 minutes walk from mrt station. Fast wifi, got free toast for breakfast and free coffee all day. convenient lounge for just chill and browsing internet. but the bedroom is dark and too cold, the staff especially the male one is unhelpful and unfriendly. the female staff is ok and helpful. and the lounge always full with people. you might not get a seat.
It's a hearty place to stay in, you'll never feel lost as a foreigner because their staff is warm and helpful, definitely make you feel like home. There are friendly reminders and travelling tips all around the lobby!
The entire place is always well maintained and clean.
They have several nice place to lounge around or to do some work. Wifi is fast too!
Bonus: coffee and tea at the pantry all day!
Great home stay, love to be there @ Rucksack inn @ lavender st
Spent one night over there. I would say based on such pricing, quality is acceptable. Some thing can be improved such as pantry cleanliness, strange smell of toilet, slightly deformed bed. Anyway the sleep quality still considered decent. Won't stop me from staying again next time.
One of the best hostels I have ever stayed in. Great cleanliness, awesome host, nice beds. A great rooftop to hang out with other backpackers. Placed strategically in the middle of the city.
friendly hostel in a bag but breakfast only has bread and jam. Would've been great if they have another breakfast option
the place is clean, breakfast as much as you like, kmr bath byk, cm far from MRT lavender 900m MRT boon keng 850m
(2012) friendly staff, clean bathroom. even if its for backpackers you can feel its safe to be with 30 people (roommates) you don't know.
Located in the central area which is great. The room we had was a bit small but it was neat and tidy. The bathroom was a bit small too but it was clean. Great service!
Convenient transportation, environmental sanitation
If you're on a budget trip in SG, check in in Rucksack Inn, people there are friendly and accomodating and I love their free breakfast and unlimited coffee.
This place was nice to stay at. Quite clean and tidy. The staff were friendly and helpful. Free breakfast was just toast, tea and coffee, but hey its free.
Excellent services, staff is very friendly, the terrace is very good. It is neat and clean.
Absolutely great. The rooms are nice, clean and cold. A nice breakfast is included and there are many amenities like a rooftop lounge and free use of computers and WiFi. The staff is extremely friendly and very helpful, they're always down to answer your questions, give you sightseeing tips or just joke around. Would definitely recommend this place!
It's a Backpacker hostel on the edge of sketchy neighborhood.
Very nice backpack hostel.
1. Free breakfast as coffee, tea and bread are ready to be serve anytime.
2. Locker available to rent for valuable goods
3. Free PC(Mac) to use for surfing the internet and guide freely
4. Staff are friendly and ready to help with tourism knowledge
5. Bathroom and restroom are good just note that towel need to pay (unlike hotel)
6. Security considered good
7. Place are convenient for public transport
Full of weirdos. Alarms going off all hours of the night. Guess it might be a nice place to live with your family
Nice and clean hostel. Next to a bus stop for easy transport around Singapore.
Very good place to stay for backpack traveller in Singapore! Coffee and tea for free all the time!
Good place to stay for few days, especially if you're in a budget this might be a good choice. Clean bathroom, it has like a pantry so you can make tea or so, there's refrigerator, lockers, there are also books in the lobby.
Very well manage. Toilet and shower is ok. Always being clean everyday.Very kind staff approachable. You would expect many people their because this hostel is one of the famous in Singapore.
It's really cool, cheap but not cheap, it's recommended by travelers who want cheap and comfortable accommodation in Singapore.
This review is not sponsored so i purely describe based on my opinion. I saw a massively huge centipede in the bathroom. Room is small as expected from other hostel experiences. Smell is based on other people. Some people are clean enough that can make the room smells nicer, but the first day i come, no racism but indians i dont really like that particular smell. As i said no racism because i lived with punjabi and srilangka people and was okay with them. This hostel is value for money. Don't expect much for having cheap stay
good location, friendly staff and unli toast tea,pb,jelly and nutella for breakfast
Great spot for the budget traveller. Cool rooftop garden and free coffee for guests. Very basic budget feel but it has everything you need.
Commons spaces (rooftop, working space, bathrooms) are nice even if the place to have breakfast is small. Kind staff.
Bedrooms are small and gloomy. AC is too cold while the blanket is too tiny. Location is bad when comparing with other hostels
Comfy enough beds, toast for breakfast. The bathrooms and showers were clean and staff was friendly. It's near a metro station and decently walkable to restaurants if you want. There aren't too many opportunities to meet people though because there isn't much of a common space and pod beds aren't conducive to sociality.
Solid backpackers, private room is smaller than anticipated but very comfortable
It's a hostel. Not a great place for families. Not a great place for group of friends either. It's perfect for lone travellers.
Awesome place to stay for a backpack trip. Special mention to the staff, very helpful and friendly natured.
The owner Jackie is very friendly, helpful, capable & organised. Although it's rated 2 star accommodation, it's location is 5 star. The place is clean and well maintained. When you are bored staying in the room, you can go to it's rooftop garden to chill and enjoy the evening breeze and quiet. You will be spoiled for choice with good eateries within walking distance
good and cheap place to stay. very neat, have lots of facility, internet, warm bath, however if you try to checkin at very late night, there wont be anyone serving you, note with your name and instruction will placed on the wall so you can self service.
