Ru San's Review

Location is interesting... In middle of a tiny plaza at top of Piedmont park... Packed parking Sunday afternoon but few in restaurant. Ordered yellow fin sashimi... Food seems good although still feels like a small establishment suffering from not enough exposure or volume to afford the next level of quality or variety. This is a common problem for Japanese eateries... It does seem to get some take out orders... Hope that's what keeps it alive..

Delicious Asian food! The prices are okay but the environment is great. It is a nice place to go with friends or even on a date.

The fish was fantastic, and my yaki udon was pretty good too. where ruson suffers is the construction of the sushi itself, and the service in which you receive it. my order was screwed up by a server who repeated my order back to me several times and then argued with me, and then the sushi itself was constructed poorly and kept falling apart as I was trying to bring it to my mouth. There's nothing wrong with the food it was good and while a little expensive I would need it again but the service is what made me rate it low

Are you serious? I'm pretty annoyed. Look at this sushi man!!! Why is the avocado bleeding. I didn't even notice it until I had two bites and seen it. Yuck

Would absolutely recommend trying out this place. Excellent atmosphere, fresh food, awesome customer service. Fantastic work.

Me and my boyfriend planned on having an exquisite sushi dinner in Atlanta, but were dissatisfied with the limited sushi options and varieties. The Japanese bagel sushi was amazing, however the other sushi's we ate were way overpriced (~$4 per individual sushi; $14-$15 for 4 individual sushi which were labeled as a roll). The service was not exemplary. We were never checked on by our waitress. The deserts' tastes didn't meet the appearance of the dish. This is a hit and miss on quality and quantity.

Terrible service today. Server was on drugs or something. Refill service nonexistent. I had to get my own plates. Talked to the manager he was not very helpful. Good thing, the first set of king and eye making was delicious.

First of all, eat at the bar and hang with my homies, the sushi chefs! Que va?! Great food, cool prices, eclectic atmosphere, cold beer. What more could anyone ask for?

Going to a Japanese-styled restaurant like this one, makes every other, second to none!

Food was good and the portion size was worth the price.

Average sushi at average prices. The lunch buffet is worth it if you're in a pinch and want to throw back a bunch of rolls, but they unfortunately don't have much variance in their selection.

The food is okay, but not as good as the Edgewood site. My major compliant about this location is parking. Its impossible to find a parking space during lunch or dinner hours. The lot is relatively open in the mornings, but they don't open until 1130. The other thing is they don't offer a lunch buffet like the Edgewood site does,

Like others have mentioned Sierra is absolutely the best. She makes your visit special. The kitchen staff are also very friendly and accommodating.

This has been one of my boyfriend and I's dating night spots for over 11 years and counting! Also great for small groups. We had a large party there once and took over 1/3 of the place, it was wild and crazy and really fun.

Service was horrible. Waited for check for an hour waited half an hour to order. Waitress charged check to different table. Definitely drunk or high.

The best Ru San's location. This is my favorite Sushi spot.

Low prices and good food. The chicken fried rice was amazing.

I honestly never write reviews but THIS is a restaurant more than deserving of one. They had a very broad menu of foods I've never had in my life and it was all very well prepared. We had the best customer service experience that I have experienced in a resturant ever. I definitely recommend this place to anyone.

All I have to say is, the service is faster than other sushi spots

I just tried their new sushi "burrito". It is an interesting concept, but the execution lacks something. Our server was great. She deserves 5 stars, but the meal knocked my rating down.

Delicious food. Nice people. My only complaint was that I ordered a dinner and they added soup and a salad and upped the price of the meal, without asking if I wanted the soup or salad. It was good tho.

This used to be my favorite Ru Sans location until last night. I brought a guest here for the first time to get some sushi.
My guest and I were sitting at the table for OVER FIVE MINUTES and NO ONE ever came to the table!
There was a waitress who passed our table about three times (who I m assuming was supposed to wait on our table since she was tending to all of the other booths on the wall). That was surprising to me seeing that the restaurant wasn t busy!
We ended up leaving and going to the restaurant down stairs, and had a pleasant experience! I m not sure if they hired different employees at this Ru Sans or if they changed management. Either way, we weren t impressed. Highly disappointed!

Great selection, and not badly priced for what you get.

Car broken into while staff watched!
The entire staff went to the front window while I ate my Sushi. It turned out they were watching my car be broken into by two guys and never said anything to warn me or anyone inside. I will never eat there again!!! Your cars are not safe while you eat. And you might not be safe in the parking lot.
I would post a picture of my smashed car window for all to see. The police are aware this parking lot is a problem, and the restaurant owners are as well and have chosen to do nothing. Beware.... Eat elsewhere.

My first time there. I really enjoyed my food. Teriyaki Steak combo was delicious. The staff was very friendly. I'm ordering delivery from them tonight!

Got delivery and they messed up my order. I did not receive the dynamite roll as intended. This food is inedible.

Outstanding spot for delicious Japanese food. Loved this place from the first taste. Really nothing but good experiences here. The prices are fair for the quality of food. My apartment is far from here, so I can't visit often.

Food was well prepared, wait staff attentive, welcoming and very helpful. Menu offered choices for any appetite. I look forward to returning often.

This spot never fails to impress. They serve fantastic food for convenient pricing, there are no long waits even when they are full.

Even though it was packed, our waitress was attentive and answered any questions we had, even going to fetch a few answers from the sushi chefs themselves. The seafood nachos are incredible, but it's a small portion. I could have easily eaten 3 portions of them by myself, they were that good. They have some interesting and delicious sushi that comes beautifully plated and tastes even better than it looks.

Always have a great meal when I go there. Fantastic sushi!

I don't trust this location because they are constantly being closed for health violations.

If you're hungry for Japanese food, this is a good place to go. Some of the prices for the appetizers are a little high, but for the entrees you'll definitely get what you pay for. Good food and service, but if you're a broke college student or someone on a budget be sure to get an entree over a smaller appetizer.

We had an excellent meal for a great price with fantastic service. Couldn't have asked for a better experience and we all came out smiling!
Apps were chicken sakatori, tiger shrimp, and calamari, all were fantastic, especially the shrimp, which we asked for with less spice since it's pretty hot.
Meals were the bacon wrapped scallops-(delectable) and rolls. The rolls has generous portions of fish and yummy sauce.
Dessert fried ice cream was the cherry on top.

I have a sea food allergy and the staff went above and beyond to accommodate me and give an excellent dinning experience. The manager even came by to inform me that they had epipens on-site in case something went wrong.

The food was excellent and prepared to perfection.

They'll give you a parking pass so don't be afraid to park in the deck.

My boyfriend and I love this sushi spot. It s a unique spot with traditional and specialty sushi rolls. They have so much to chose from with dishes such as teriyaki chicken and udon noodles (for all non- sushi lovers). The service has been fantastic each time we have visited as well. We are always greeted by the staff when we venture in and always feel satisfied when we leave.

I deliver food for here on several occasions. Even though I don't eat here they are always nice. Love them

Great place for sushi. The Buckhead location is 5 stars with a much broader menu and better prices.
I would go to the one in Buckhead.

When we went the kitchen was closing. Service was okay as we asked for more ginger which never came. They were out of sweet tea also.

Ru San's has been a favorite of mine since a teenager. My mom grew up in Japan and always knew what to order so I had a good guide. This trip I ordered the shrimp fried rice and my husband ordered a beautiful bento box. We arrived 15 mins before open and they still seated us. We appreciated them and the experience very much.

For the vegetarian wanting the sushi experience... This is the best place in Atlanta.

AMAZING SUSHI BUFFET
Definitely worth the money. Worth the drive. Not only do you get high quantity, you also get high quality.

I ordered a mushroom entree. I think I understand why they didn't slice the mushrooms, because whole caps llook nicer. I wish they had, but my man complaint is with the taste of the dish. Just throwing a ton of butter on something doesn't make it good.

Used to come here all the time, but recently the staff have shown bad service, and the menu changes I don't agree with. Highly recommend Chin chin over rusans for sushi and regular food.

Pretty good. Still trying to get that calamari to taste as good as the first time! Now just chewy and not good...

Always the best sushi ever. I stay coming here. Every in the menu from noodles, rice plates, and dishes are fresh. I was happy about getting here my first time I came I knew I will be coming back. There is another location, yet this location isn't as busy and the service are fast.

This establishment is so great that my friend and I visited it twice in one day. The food is BANGIN' at an amazing price and the service is top notch. Our waitress, Sierra, was a total sweetheart and just made us feel so welcomed and made our visit truly memorable. If you ever have a craving for Japanese fusion cuisine, this Ru San's location is the place to be. Enjoy!

This location is great and is always great. Best place for beginners sushi try-ers there are a lot of options from Raw to cooked rolls. Even dollar to two dollar rolls!! So you can try just a bit to get your sushi fix and a nice little sake drink.

The servers are awesome and the place itself is a joy to eat at.

The food was spectacular I could not stop eating. I ordered the seafood Rice it was the bomb. The desert menu could be better.

One of my fav places for tasty Japanese food. The staff was very helpful and observant. The place has an awesome feel to it. Kinda of like a restaurant in Los Angeles I liked to visit.

Food was good. It's on the second floor which give the window seats nice views.
