My mom died a year ago. I have to say that these people were so kind and so compassionate while my mom was dying. Their aftercare for the family members is so terrific. I appreciated the encouraging mail they sent me. The fact that they offer grief counseling for the family members was a huge deal. I just really appreciated their involvement with the family as a whole.
The staff at Roze Room Hospice were incredible. My husband was to be transferred from City of Hope to our home on March 29, 2018. Roze Room Hospice made arrangements for all of the necessary equipment; bed, oxygen units, linens, etc. were delivered the day before on March 28. They came and set up everything, where I wanted it, in the morning of the 28th. My husband was to be brought home at 10:30 am on the 29th and the Roze Room nurse was at my house at least 2 hours prior to that with all of the medications and equipment that they would need and to tell me what to expect. They were planning to be with us 24 hours a day. My husband came home from City of Hope via ambulance and the nurse was there to see that he was comfortable, hooked up his oxygen and took his blood pressure immediately after the ambulance staff left. He was monitored constantly and the nurse shared all information with me. A Social Worker came later to go over issues that might present and to be sure that I had support. Both the nurse and social worker were very caring and professional. The spent a lot of time talking to me to be sure that I was ok and happy with my husband's care. She administered pain medications on a regular basis.
At the end of the first nurse's shift a second nurse came, went over every issue regarding my husband's case, checked his vitals and made sure that everything was in order before the first nurse left. By the time the second nurse arrived my husband's vital signs were deteriorating. She encouraged us, my sister and me, to go try to get some sleep and said she would wake me if things changed. At 2:00 am, she came and woke me and told me that my husband had only a few minutes left. She gave me and my sister, time to tell him goodbye even though he was incoherent at that point, and he left us at 2:15 am on Good Friday, March 30, 2018. A call was made to the people who would be transporting him to be cremated and they arrived shortly. Prior to their arrival the nurse straightened up his bedding and treated him in such a kind and caring way.
I could not have asked for a more caring team of people to be in my home, caring for my husband and I thank God that they were there.
The hospice caregivers that came to our home to help my best friend and longtime boyfriend who died of pancreatic cancer in November were very kind, compassionate and comforting to have around. Particularly at the end, when a caregiver not scheduled to come over, did so anyway to help me put my loved one in the hospital bed set up earlier that day in the living room. Just as hospice arrived, my loved one took a turn and quickly began actively dying. He never got into the hospital bed and instead died in his own bed. The presence of the hospice caregiver was a godsend as he stood over me as I sat by my boyfriend's bedside holding his hand as he passed on. It was a true miracle and blessing that hospice was there at that very moment, otherwise, I would have been alone as my loved one left. The caregivers make themselves available, no matter what.
Roze Room took care of my mom, and I am so thankful for their support during a very difficult time. From my initial meeting with Roze Room, and meeting the nurses, social service and spiritual counseling staff, I knew these were people with a special calling to help others. Although my mom s time in their care was brief, Roze Room visited daily and checked in regularly. Even now, a month after hospice services have stopped, I ve had follow up calls from the staff to see how I am doing. I appreciate the care and professional service that we received from Roze Room and would highly recommend them to anyone who needs hospice care. I am forever grateful to Roze Room Hospice.
After a month and a half, I finally had been stewing long enough to reach out to Roze Room. I wrote them a 4.5-page letter and emailed it to them. I heard back the next day and found out that the founder of the company reviewed my comments and suggestions at a leadership meeting and is currently working with the management and the field teams (nurses, CNAs, etc) to improve. The CNA that I mentioned is no longer employed with the company and I had a great talk with them. Hopefully, future clients will have a much better experience!
These people are like the ambulance chasing lawyers of the old days, all they care about is numbers. They stand in front of hospitals looking for patients and they are really pushy.
Your nurses are special. I am also a home health/palliative nurse, but could never do what you all do. Thank you so much for taking such great care of my husbsnd, Mike. Specisl thanks tou your nuese, Daisy, LVN. She got all my husband medIcations at the end to keep him comfortable. She also stayed with Mike, so I could run home and feed csts, lock up our home. I had to share my experience and these wonderful people with everyone... My Mother was sick for over a year to the point where she was bed ridden. The Roze Room Hospice staff were there in every aspect of of my Mothers care and medical needs and our needs as well. I can't say it enough that they helped to give myself and my family such peace of mind knowing that they confindently took care of her every need... with warm hearts and a smile... and it was sincere. They truly care and it was 24/7. I have heard of hospice care but never realized how much we needed them and Roze Room is steller. Towards the end of my Mom's days they were there every minute walking us through every step with compassion and understanding beyond my fears... I know we drove them crazy with questions but they understood and never wavered. Those last days with My Mom were so much better because of their knowledge and care. The staff from Roze Room was very caring, responsive and reliable. They were particularly efficient about delivering my husbands medication .
Roze Room Hospice took care of my wife as she was declining. A competent nurse was in attendance 24 hours per day and relieved me, her husband, of all the chores I had been doing previously. They were a great comfort and relief. They were sensitive to the time when she would go and took the load off my shoulders of taking care of that. They knew what to do and did it. I was impressed by and thankful for what Roze Room did for me and my wife. I would recommend them to anyone needing Hospice care.
As a physician I look at things a bit differently, but basically the same.
Their service was prompt, professional and humane.
