It's a shame that I have to write a review such as this. The good thing about it is I'm writing this as a patient and not a visitor/outsider. I've been here since December 1st got to spend an entire week and weekend and today being Tuesday of the following week allows me to write something both in depth and shamefully truthful. This facility and the reviews regarding them are very true the staff here is very uncommitted to their tasks at hand the communication between the shifts are horrible and honestly nobody has any idea what's going on with the patients for some reason even though orders are directed. I myself after having been here full week had to call the front desk twice because I have been pushing the call button for over an hour and asked to speak to the director of nursing to come down and speak to me because nobody was answering my call. Unfortunately I am currently paralyzed so I cannot just get up and go find somebody I am limited to the button at the edge of my bed to call someone for assistance which in general wants the button is pushed takes anywhere from 35 to 55 minutes just to get somebody to assist you, and God forbid if your soiled meaning having had a BM which in my case I cannot feel but I've been asked several times by the staff do I just want to stay like that because it's only a little bit and I've also been told can't you just wait because we're about to serve the food right now. I have had other health and safety issues with this facility as well such as being given incorrect medications. Thank God I'm coherent enough to ask what they're trying to give me even though they're waking me out of a dead sleep, and also having one of the staff members inserting a thermometer in my mouth without putting a sleeve on it, me not noticing until the metal actually went inside my mouth this I did bring to the attention of the director of nursing which in turn I was told that they would have a meeting about it who knows if they did.
This weekend on Friday night and Saturday night at the 11:00pm shift both nights around 11:30 p.m. you can smell cigarette smoke permeating the air and coming from the hallway.
Also since I am currently paralyzed from the chest down there is a sign over my bed that specifically States I must be turned every two hours this in order to avoid bed sores, the staff on whichever shift completely ignores this I'm usually left on my back all day I've only had a couple of nurses or CNAs or whichever they may have been be diligent in turning me unfortunately their rotations don't allow them to continuously be assigned to my room.
all I can say is being here is not some place you want to be, the care seriously Lacks, and realistically if you value your loved one do not send them here I for one am working on my way out of here and hopefully that happens soon. As I've said I am not an outsider I am currently a patient here so everything that I've said and written here is my own personal experience since arriving on December 1st.
I don't have much space to write everything out but that is something I will be detailing in a phone call to the ombudsman facility to overview this location.
And just an FYI to everybody you can Google on budsman and you can file a complaint against any facility like this with them.
Sincerely,
Room-6-Bed-3
