Without a doubt the largest and best attended airshow in the UK. Also get many people making the trip from abroad for this one, an international big show with support from numerous air arms and operators. Expect 3 days of wall to wall aircraft, with a typical 8 hour flying display on the weekend and a huge static line-up.
Whilst the variety of types attending has dropped over the years, this just represents the fact that so many air arms are using multi-role types.

I went to the second RIAT for the first time in 10 years. Although the number of aircraft was reduced, the celebration of military aircraft from Europe and the United States, and this time also from Japan, was impressive.
The paid ticket FRIAT is about 30,000 yen, but you can also use the stand or break prefab that is perfect for taking photos, including the pamphlet and schedule.
I am grateful that the local people participated in the operation as volunteers, and they maintained the venue comfortably.
From 8:00 to 18:00, I enjoyed four days of pickling.

Great event, although not the cheapest of ticket prices this is once of those life experiences you should do even if you are not a massive airplane fan. We had a lovely day with the family and will probably go back one day. A very good airshow and entry and exit is very well planned we had not queues and it was a breeze. Some great food which also has some fixed pricing so fair. I also liked the massive range of recycling bins and in plenty of locations this is very well run - well done to the whole team involved

Very good airshow. Very large airshow. The main days are over the weekend and it does get pretty busy. The roads are very busy over the weekend. Lots of staff and people around that can help you if you need any help. Also it's a multi national airshow so you get air forces from all over the world coming.

Had a lovely couple days out, the event was organised extraordinarily well and there was always something to do, whether that be the displays in the air or the static aircraft on the ground, you can't argue with the price either, as it is on a military base, staff would bend over backwards to help. The aviation club was beautifully set up, tables, chairs and an overall charming colour set up made this place easily one of the most popular. 185,000 people went this year, so traffic was a bit on the heavy side, however once you got to the show itself, you will forget all the traffic, as you will be entranced by the beautiful displays of aircraft

Best Airshow in the UK by far, such a great display of aircraft from nearly everywhere in the world. Good facilities on site and good staff too always pointing you in the right direction. Only issues are the food and drink is always expensive and only recently they've stopped inviting countries like Russia, where I think air shows shouldn't be political.

Been to every air tattoo since greenham common in 1979 never ceases to amaze me and my family. Would recommend this show to anyone in the world to visit at least once in there life and they would be hooked just like us.

The mega-airshow in Europe. For whom military jets are the greatest must go. Do not forget hearing protection, lean back and enjoy. Strolling through the static is also a must. That's why the three days are over quickly there.

Dambusters meets Top Gun at RAF Fairford on July 1...

Dambusters meets Top Gun at RAF Fairford on July 15th 2018. The most enjoyable, dramatic, awe inspiring, Incredible, memorable and exhillerating display by pilots using aircraft from the 1st, 2nd world wars; the cold war and modern conflicts. The top gun danger zone routines are something else; the Jets flying on thrust and air brakes almost at stalling speed is a spectacle in its own right and is simply amazing. The BBMF and the Heritage Flight performed near the end with the Lancaster; Dakota; 2 Spitfires and a P51 Mustang. Some of the Jets that did a straight fly by some travelling at 700 mph and there 2 that nearly broke the sound barrier. Static displays and stalls a mile and a half long. It was a well organised Air Show and exhibitions. The runway is 2 miles long and the attractions were from horizon to horizon.

My personal score is 10/10 & I award the Royal International Air Tattoo my Gold Star for Excellence.

Excellent show ,easy to get in and out by car. Not given the full five stars due to the food available, very low offering of basic burger bars after burger bars, time to up their game in food traders. however don't let the food but you off going.

I used to love the air tattoo. Maybe it's because I'm older (& harder to please) maybe it's just not as good as it used to be. There don't seem to be as many planes there anymore. There doesn't seem to be the support from other countries. It's still packed and you'll still enjoy it but the glory days are gone.

A great selection of fixed and rotary wing aircraft. Even though the weather on this occasion was against us the organisers did their best to get as many displays on as possible. The technology zone was a fantastic experience for the kids

As someone who usually takes no interests in planes or any sort of aviation, this was an absolutely amazing event.
I would recommend that everyone visits RIAT at least once in their lives. It's great for children and adults a like.
There's a brilliant technology area for children, and you are able to see planes and talk to crews from air forces around the world.

Always an amazing show of awesome aircraft and brilliant flying skills. Unfortunately, just how enjoyable the display is depends very much on the unpredictable British weather. We went on Saturday this year and for a while in the morning poor visibility meant that no fixed-wing aircraft could fly. It did brighten up later but a low cloud base meant that only 'flat' displays could be flown. I'll still go in the future though - when it's good, it's really good!

If I could give more stars, I would most certainly do so. Love this show and has become a family tradition since 2013. Really going to miss it this year as it's grown into a part of me. There's always next year, and I can't wait to see what the organisers have in store for the 50th anniversary
