Interested in military aircraft. Then its a great place to go. Highly recommend
British & American's working together. Two nations, coverings each others backs.
Incredible show, a must go for every year. Always a fantastic line up and some amazing, not to mention rare aircraft on display. Good variety of stall as well and activities for kids.
Absolutely fantastic! Something for all ages and excitement all around!
Without a doubt the largest and best attended airshow in the UK. Also get many people making the trip from abroad for this one, an international big show with support from numerous air arms and operators. Expect 3 days of wall to wall aircraft, with a typical 8 hour flying display on the weekend and a huge static line-up.
Whilst the variety of types attending has dropped over the years, this just represents the fact that so many air arms are using multi-role types.
Excellent as always for the Air show but leaving in the car was a shambles no order and staff we're together at the exit area only.
I went to the second RIAT for the first time in 10 years. Although the number of aircraft was reduced, the celebration of military aircraft from Europe and the United States, and this time also from Japan, was impressive.
The paid ticket FRIAT is about 30,000 yen, but you can also use the stand or break prefab that is perfect for taking photos, including the pamphlet and schedule.
I am grateful that the local people participated in the operation as volunteers, and they maintained the venue comfortably.
From 8:00 to 18:00, I enjoyed four days of pickling.
Best airshow in the world ! We go every year and always have a fantastic time
Fantastic beautiful English airshow. One world class.
Great event, although not the cheapest of ticket prices this is once of those life experiences you should do even if you are not a massive airplane fan. We had a lovely day with the family and will probably go back one day. A very good airshow and entry and exit is very well planned we had not queues and it was a breeze. Some great food which also has some fixed pricing so fair. I also liked the massive range of recycling bins and in plenty of locations this is very well run - well done to the whole team involved
RIAT is a world class air show and has proven itself every year to be so. This applies to aircraft enthusiasts and average pubic
Riat 2018 great air show loads to see weather great
Very good airshow. Very large airshow. The main days are over the weekend and it does get pretty busy. The roads are very busy over the weekend. Lots of staff and people around that can help you if you need any help. Also it's a multi national airshow so you get air forces from all over the world coming.
Epic day out!
Well organised. Great selection of aircraft. Plenty of things to do.
Loved it.
Excellent Airshow. Would definitely recommend and will be revisiting again next July.
Had a lovely couple days out, the event was organised extraordinarily well and there was always something to do, whether that be the displays in the air or the static aircraft on the ground, you can't argue with the price either, as it is on a military base, staff would bend over backwards to help. The aviation club was beautifully set up, tables, chairs and an overall charming colour set up made this place easily one of the most popular. 185,000 people went this year, so traffic was a bit on the heavy side, however once you got to the show itself, you will forget all the traffic, as you will be entranced by the beautiful displays of aircraft
Best Airshow in the UK by far, such a great display of aircraft from nearly everywhere in the world. Good facilities on site and good staff too always pointing you in the right direction. Only issues are the food and drink is always expensive and only recently they've stopped inviting countries like Russia, where I think air shows shouldn't be political.
Fantastic air show, precision organisation, accessible facilities and wonderful array of goods and food stalls
Great day out with so much to do. Long queues to get in so get there early.
Poor show,,,ATM poor,,,,overcrowded,,,shops didnt take cards???
Been to every air tattoo since greenham common in 1979 never ceases to amaze me and my family. Would recommend this show to anyone in the world to visit at least once in there life and they would be hooked just like us.
Only managed to attend the first day which was more of a set up day rather than flying.
The mega-airshow in Europe. For whom military jets are the greatest must go. Do not forget hearing protection, lean back and enjoy. Strolling through the static is also a must. That's why the three days are over quickly there.
Superb show, although I'd expected a bit more flying support from the USAF at this centenary.
Dambusters meets Top Gun at RAF Fairford on July 15th 2018. The most enjoyable, dramatic, awe inspiring, Incredible, memorable and exhillerating display by pilots using aircraft from the 1st, 2nd world wars; the cold war and modern conflicts. The top gun danger zone routines are something else; the Jets flying on thrust and air brakes almost at stalling speed is a spectacle in its own right and is simply amazing. The BBMF and the Heritage Flight performed near the end with the Lancaster; Dakota; 2 Spitfires and a P51 Mustang. Some of the Jets that did a straight fly by some travelling at 700 mph and there 2 that nearly broke the sound barrier. Static displays and stalls a mile and a half long. It was a well organised Air Show and exhibitions. The runway is 2 miles long and the attractions were from horizon to horizon.
My personal score is 10/10 & I award the Royal International Air Tattoo my Gold Star for Excellence.
Glorious three days of magnificent flying. Well organized. Beautiful weather.
Great friendly people in all units and businesses. Great security too
Still a superb event. My 4th year and will visit again.
Absolute heaven..not a plane spotter ..but such fantastic flying.. best air show day out ever..
Never been to an air tattoo before, but it was fascinating seeing those huge planes both on the ground and in the air. Worth a visit to watch them
Been going since greenham common fantastic would not miss it.
Absolutely fantastic day out, worth every penny spent, worthy cause.
Simply the best airshow anywhere. Well organised, plenty to do and see and over eight hours of flying every day.
Food and drink is expensive, so bring a picnic!
Best air show ever. Food and drink reasonably priced. Plenty of things for the punters to look at including an awesome Autodrome, Techno zone, RAF village, Vintage Village and Activity Zone. Contact if you want to be a part of the show.
Excellent show ,easy to get in and out by car. Not given the full five stars due to the food available, very low offering of basic burger bars after burger bars, time to up their game in food traders. however don't let the food but you off going.
I used to love the air tattoo. Maybe it's because I'm older (& harder to please) maybe it's just not as good as it used to be. There don't seem to be as many planes there anymore. There doesn't seem to be the support from other countries. It's still packed and you'll still enjoy it but the glory days are gone.
A fantastic day out. I went with young kids 2, 3 and 5. The Techno Zone, with the STEM based educational activities for kids, was worth a visit on its own.
A great selection of fixed and rotary wing aircraft. Even though the weather on this occasion was against us the organisers did their best to get as many displays on as possible. The technology zone was a fantastic experience for the kids
Amazing military air show with great attractions including 100's of static aircraft, over 7 hours of flying displays, the amazing Vintage Village, the awesome RAF village, the Autodrome with great car clubs and bespoke dining, and the adrenaline filled activity zone. It's a great day out for anyone.
Great value for money, 8 hours of flying with so much variation, be warned it's a long day for small children and don't forget to leave extra early...
Very disappointed by their sales staff, very unhelpful when trying to book tickets
Amazing air show spanding over 3 days. With historical and modern and futuristic aircraft. This year with the jsf f-35. The show consists of several air-display teams as wel as air-demo teams who representate their country on the show. The display aircraft spand over the entire lenght of the airfield and there are aircraft presentated for over 10+ countries. There are several places to order food or drinks.
Came as a cadet staying for 2 weeks, one of the greatest experiences, so many different types of aircraft, and easy to navigate
Absolutely amazing day out for the family, huge selection of aircraft and activities really more than you can fit in to one day. Brilliantly organzied for such a huge event.
One of the worlds best Airshows, better say MILITARY Airshow.
The close Afterburner starts and flyover and flybys are just stunning.
Every fan of military aircraft worldwide should have seen this air show Once in his lifetime.
The absolute beautiful aircraft and stunning International Air Force coverage of the event are unique.
If you ever visit the Royal Air Force tattoo it is strongly recommended to book a ticket with a flight deck access and VIP coverage.
Absolute Must see...
As someone who usually takes no interests in planes or any sort of aviation, this was an absolutely amazing event.
I would recommend that everyone visits RIAT at least once in their lives. It's great for children and adults a like.
There's a brilliant technology area for children, and you are able to see planes and talk to crews from air forces around the world.
Simply the best airshow in the world!
People travel in from the whole way around the world to watch this show for the weekend.
This past weekend I ve met people that have flown in specifically for this event from;
USA
France
Germany
Zimbabwe
Australia
Japan
China
South Africa
Ireland
Lithuania
Iceland
This should tell you everything you need to know...
RIAT Royal International Air Tattoo
It is believed to be the world's biggest military air show with air craft comming from all around the world. The show is always held in the July to name a few Aircraft such as F35 Lightning F22 Rapter B1 & B2 Bombers Euro Typhoon Spitfires Lancaster bomber Gr4 Tornado and of course many aerial team displays including the famous Red Arrows plus hundreds more they have both flying and static displays hot air balloon They serve fast food, alcohol bars souvenir stalls There are also military bands from the British Army, Navy and RAF. It is well organised show with many car parks including one for disabled people on base lots of lavatories for all ..The RIAT tickets are all on line there are no tickets served on the day of the show
Well organised event. Considering the amount of people attending this is a must go to if you like aircraft. Great displays both in the aiir and on the ground.
Always an amazing show of awesome aircraft and brilliant flying skills. Unfortunately, just how enjoyable the display is depends very much on the unpredictable British weather. We went on Saturday this year and for a while in the morning poor visibility meant that no fixed-wing aircraft could fly. It did brighten up later but a low cloud base meant that only 'flat' displays could be flown. I'll still go in the future though - when it's good, it's really good!
Brilliant.Started going in 2011, have been going continuously since.
Great airshow, lots of aircraft and the displays are fantastic!
If I could give more stars, I would most certainly do so. Love this show and has become a family tradition since 2013. Really going to miss it this year as it's grown into a part of me. There's always next year, and I can't wait to see what the organisers have in store for the 50th anniversary
