Very cool old rink. Bar restaurant overlooks rink. Olympic sized rink too.
Employees were nice but experience was awful and prices were ridiculous.
Lots of parking & space for social distancing for any outdoor activities.
Sadly I have to say that this place needs some massive work. It is not handicap friendly currently I am dealing with a broken ankle and the ability to actually get to the stands is dangerous. The floors are uneven and I actually fell very More
Not a fan of this place. The employees are real rude and their skates are from the 50s it seems and they re horrible. Place is dirty and they give you attitude. Don t recommend it.
All remodeled thanks to Kraft Hockeyville contest. Watched the Penguins practice there for the grand reopening.
Kids had fun skating. $7 admission for adults; $6 for under 16-yrs. $3 for skate rental. Well maintained. Nice staff. Prompt snack bar staff. Good experience.
Old ice rink that has been remodeled. Need a better food area. Looks not so fresh.
Used to play here when I was a kid and learned to skate here as well it's a decent place and the people are great
Place is dirty. Rental skates are not well maintained. Can have fun of you're not expecting too much
Was there for a Cal U ice hockey game and public skate, ice was horrible but what do you expect between full length games
Had a gr8 time watching my niece skating with a Christmas tree her grandfather Mike Roscoe made. Santa was kind enough to come off the ice to meet the children. Thanks Santa.
Old rink has issues , locker rooms are just as bad, no pro shop , the whole rink leans towards the benches , boards are not even straight. Ehh, but staff is awesome and helpful!
What great fun! Friendly staff, clean, good food, but many of the rental skates are well worn.
By far one of the coldest rinks i ever visited. Not a bad facility but not great either. They do have a pub and snack area.
My nephews had a hockey game here. Had a great time.
Facility shows its age and the skates for rent are pretty ancient. The location is terrible, it is hidden and out of the way. If driving by it is very easy to miss, the location is just invisible.
They held the annual Mon Valley Home Show this past weekend. Quite a nice show, but was surprised that none of the wineries were there.
Cold ah...No reason it cant have the heaters on some
Wish they didnt have people selling stuff constantly during the circus. Then its sad that the kids with little or no money couldnt not only buy the items they were waving around the entire time but couldnt see the show from them being distracted by it. Really Really unthoughtful. Guess thats how it works though. Not much about the experience, mostly about profit
The everything is a scam there :) only the ice rink is good and its freezing, unlike other rinks
Horriable horriable service my child was being bossed around by this little girl she went around like she owned the place THIS PLACE NEEDS TO BE SHUT DOWN
Slow and my stuff chicken breast was cold in the center
Worst rink in the Burgh even after winning the Hockeyville money...
Haven't been here in many many years and it's still exactly the same and wouldn't change a thing !!
Horribly worn and torn up gross-looking skates, uncaring staff of teenagers on their phones
The rink is nice, the facilities ok. I love the old ceilings and the snack bar when it is opened. The coaches that do learns to skate are fantastic.
There is no way this arena is safe for check-level hockey. The rink is encased in cement for 3/4s of the perimeter so there is absolutely no give when there is contact along the boards. Somebody's kid is going to get killed...
This was horrible my child who does not know how to skate fell. So, the ice patrollers come over to him and say " Get your as* of the fuc**** ice." Maybe you should not hire the first people that apply for the job.
I go skating here every Friday or Saturday night that I can. Great community rink!
Very fun facility, restaurant and bar that over looks ice rink
Was out there for the wine and food festival it was an awesome event highly recommend for any future shows
Everything over priced and an okay circus, only animals they had were elephants.
I attended a hobby show at the ice garden. The building was quite adequate for the show. I don't recommend the concession stand food.
Nice facility. Wear an extra layer, as, like most smaller arenas, it is a bit chilly in the bleachers. Great lounge attached with a nice terrace view from one end of the ice. Very hospitable staff
Not worthy of Kraft Hockeyville win. Kraft Hockeyville is a rigged game
Nice big rink, great price. It's a little cold, so dress appropriately!
We had our sons birthday part here. The kids had a great time
Great price and great time for the kids. Always interesting/fun activities as well
Rostraver Central VFD Super Bash. Great venue for this event. If only it could be a little cooler in the building.
This place was awful. Took my family there for their learn to skate class. No one was helpful. Finally got my son on the ice and they said his skate were too big and to get him smaller ones. Went back up and no employees to be found anywhere. By the time I got him on the ice all the teachers were gone. One of worst experiences anywhere
Really enjoyed the beauty of the place, nice outside and inside, smiling faces, very nice.
but I think if they clean it up it won't look like a house. Always room to train your staff.
There is nothing wrong with this ice rink. It is your typical hockey rink. We came for open skate with a group. For the most part we enjoyed ourselves. One of my complaints would be there is not enough buckets for the young children. This was one of the reason we chose this venue. Also their skates are older but work just fine I recommend wearing thicker socks and going a half size up.
Nice dance floor..enjoyable oldies dancing...where can you go for a $10 evening!!!
I really like this rink, it has an old school vibe with the copious amount of wood paneling, the vaulted (not sure if that's the right description) ceiling beams and the large amount of seating. You can tell it's an older facility based on the seating - nobody builds rinks with anything remotely close to spacious seating anymore. Not sure if they had a minor league team here back in the day or what, but I appreciate the extra space. Plus, there is a nice bar/restaurant that is on the second level and overlooks the rink, with a viewing area that stretches across the width of rink. Very cool. The one minor gripe - it was bitterly cold inside the rink. Yes, all rinks are generally cold but some more so than others. I've only been here once, so maybe it was an outlier, but it was cold. All told, I hope my boy has some more games here in the near future.
The ice is the worst ice I have ever skated on in my entire life
We have gone here on a date, and with the kids for a family outing. I recommend if your children are just learning to go during the day on Sunday, not on Friday nights. The place is packed, and there are really young kids who dont pay attention to their surroundings. If you are not someone who knows how to skate well please dont go then because you could get hurt, or hurt the children who are not aware of their surroundings. Otherwise a great place. The ice is amazing and the food is inexpensive but good.
It might not be five stars now, but it will be after 150,000 dollars of arena upgrades thanks to being kraft hockeyville winners.
Nice rink. Everything else is extremely outdated, worn and in desperate need to replacement. The bathrooms are probably THE worst I've every seen...
Though, this rink is old it is a very nice rink. It won Hockeyville USA 2017, and a lot of repairs have been made. I hope they can improve more and eventually attract more people.
Worst food my family ate there wings were the whole chicken wing but the normal ones your buy at normal restaurants there burgers tasting like dollor burgers sauce tasted like they got it at dollor tree 1/100 would not recommend
We actually went to a car cruise in the parking lot of the Rostraver ice rink. It was nice size lot and alot of classic cars.
Great old rink with history. Best price in Western Pa also!
The staff looks like they couldn t care less and they make rude and obnoxious comments to you they are not a nice place to go to. I would suggest going anywhere besides this place. That is my opinion so you don t have to argue
Went for the home show.. Probably won't go back to another one. There. We were badgered for work...A few places I submitted my info for because of raffles to win prizes..got nothing but un wanted phone calls and emails to solicit everything from gutters to medical devices..I'd give a lower score to the home show. Not the ice garden.
I have coached and watched hockey games since my son was young. Awesome upgrades. Will come back. From your friends at The House O Hockey in Murrysville Pa, (Pittsburgh). Retail Hockey Equipment Store Since 1991. Stop in and enjoy the game from Murphy's Pub over looking the rink. Great service!
Absolutely horrible experience. None of the on ice rules were enforced by the on ice worker. People standing in the way not skating, others speed skating, food on the ice, tobacco use on the ice, and yes tobacco spit on the ice where people were falling down. Nothing was said.....by ANY of the employees. Spend the extra money and go somewhere else.........I know I will.
Great skating rink with a nostalgic feel & recent upgrades.
They gave me a ripped up dollar bill than 20 mins later was like can't take this back sorry
Nice rink, but they need to turn on a little bit of heat. You're better off watching game from the attached bar/restaurant.
Shame this "iconic" arena is in trouble.. great rink. Great price.
