Worst rooftop bar in chicago!!!!

Worst rooftop bar in chicago!!!!
This rooftop bar is one of the most anti feminist bars in the city. Even the bouncer has an idea how women should dress. I'm hurt that this environment exists in such a diverse city.

I thought this place was pretty cool. They have a retractable roof in case it rains. We were able to get a table on the edge so we had a great view of the city. Food and drinks were good, but sitting out on the roof made it special.

I stayed at The Wit when I came to Chicago on the recommendation of a friend and was very impressed with everything from the service to the cleanliness of the place. The best part about it was that if you are staying at the hotel you can get into their lounge on the rooftop, you and up to 3 of your guests get in before 10pm with wrist bands. The rooftop was lively and full of fun people and I would highly recommend getting there early as the line seemed to stretch a couple of blocks in order to get into the lounge.

The best rooftop bar in the city -- now open year-round!

Go for the friendly service, elegant cocktails made with fresh fruit, and the lively crowd. On weekends, there may be a long line, because ROOF is very popular.

Given it's location, it's probably the most famous rooftop bar in the city. So when summer starts it seems like everyone flocks here and that usually means it packed. But depending on the night and the event, the Wit can be hit or miss.

During the week and after work, the Wit can be a really great time. They have an indoor and outdoor section with seating in both. Great sound system and TVs so if you are going with friends or to network, it's great.

Friday and Saturday nights however can be a little pretentious. As I stated earlier, everyone goes here. And the Wit, like a lot of Chicago clubs, brings out everyone who wants to be seen. So you can expect long lines outside jammed packed with everyone who is trying to impress.

The drinks are a little pricey but its the Wit. Food and the staff however is really good. Especially considering the amount of people who come here.

Worst place I have ever been to. The security there is a joke. It was my boyfriend's birthday and we got a bottle and spent over a grand there. I was walking a friend outside and asked where I can get a wristband since I'll be coming back up to the rooftop, and one of the security guys asked me "want it around your neck" and they began to laugh....I didn't understand what that meant exactly but I figured it had to be something mean and rude. So my friend and I walked out from the other exit, 2 minutes later I had to walk back in to where those security guys were standing..I'm walking past and the same guy asked to see my wristband. I then explained how I asked for one but instead got rude comments from him about it...he then asked "are you giving me attitude?" And kicked me out and wouldn't let me go back in. While my boyfriend was upstairs and spent overa grand on bottle service. First and last time, never going back to this place again.

Great place for a company event. We had a customer appreciation event for a trade show and the service and food was excellent. The staff was very professional here. Retractable cover and plenty of room. We had roughly 370 people in attendance and we had plenty of room for more.

We are staying at the hotel attached to the restaurant. Terrible service, in a fancy setting. Amazing how a private party in the indoor space cuts the available food menu in half. 20 minutes later and still no appetizer. We had to flag down a server just to order. Our first time staying in this hotel. What a letdown. Update: 5 minutes later we receive our app and there is definitely a curly black hair in our tapas. Manager very quickly removed the charge and dropped a bill for our drinks. We decided to find a different place to find food.

Arguably the coolest rooftop bar in the city, ROOF has perhaps gotten a bit too popular. Originally, this was one of my favorite places in the city, a bit expensive, but worth every penny. The DJs were great, the space was chill and the outdoor area was one of my favorites. The DJs are still cool and it's a fun place to go for a special night out, but it's no longer a regular stop on my nights out.

Touristy and we had to commit to spend $600 upfront for a table of 10, but not a bad option for a party on a rooftop, if that's your vibe. Drinks were good, not exceptional: but large selection.

My friends and I went to the Wit Rooftop on April ...

My friends and I went to the Wit Rooftop on April 28th in the afternoon. We were there for drinks and appetizers. We had a horrible experience and will never be going again. The service was of poor quality and the manager was disrespectful and unhelpful. Furthermore, they overcharged us and refused to assist us when we attempted to address the issue.

Throughout the entire night, many things went wrong. First, the server, Christin, took around 15-20 minutes to brink our drinks even though the place scarcely had any people. In fact, she acknowledged the fact that she messed up a couple of times. Second, after our third party member arrived, she placed multiple orders incorrectly and even though we told her that the drinks were not correct and we didn't consume them, she still charged us for them. Third, when we received our bill, the amount was incorrect. When I told this to the server, her immediate reaction was to get the manager. Throughout this entire encounter, she was confused and unwillingly help.

When the manager approached us, I explained to him that the server had overcharged us. I informed him that they charged us a total of 25 drinks. For one type of drink the server placed 11 orders. I told him that the server charged us drinks she never brought to the table, however he did refused to listen to me. He was extremely condescending and and he attempted to make it seem as if I was too intoxicated to understand. Unlike some of my other friends, I had not consumed much. Nevertheless, he made it seem as if I was ignorant and unable to reason. Seeing that he was not going to help resolve this issue, my friend put in his card down.

I was extremely upset at the entire situation. A few days later we discovered that they swiped my friend's card five times.....This matter has been resolved.

The visit to the Rooftop will be the first and last I will ever make. It is unfortunate because the place is in a beautiful convenient location. I am displeased with the treatment we received by the employees at that place.

Fun, seen and be seen rooftop bar boasting city views but long waits and watered down drinks. My friends took me here to celebrate my birthday on a weekday and it took an hour to get into the elevator and order a drink. By the time I got my drink I was disappointed that for $15 it was watered down and overly sweet. Overall this place reminds me of LA's The Standard hotel bar but with overhyped views and average service.

We spent 100 usd in this bar on Friday night and came back on Saturday night only to be told we weren't good enough to come in. Was it our age? My sister and I are 50 and our daughters are 22. We were dressed nicely. Or was it because my brother wasn't with us this time? Just want to warn others of the random discrimination here even when the bar is almost empty

If you love wine, this is the place to go!! My girls and I had a meet up planned here. Great location in downtown LA with a big area to seat large groups. The ambience is perfect as it's slightly dim and cozy. Slightly on the expensive side but it's worth a try! Their service is great.

This is definitely a hidden gem in Chicago. Located right in the heart of it all (very close to Millenium Park) the Roof is at the top of the luxurious the Wit hotel. It is amazing to go at night because not only does it have great views of the city but is open air! I was blown away and has a great vibe and wasn t even busy! (Weekday nighttime)

Really cool bar located at the top of the Wit hotel. We attended in February so the doors were all closed but it is obvious this is a great place to drink on a warm summer evening with friends. The lighting is dim (and very purple) and the bartenders look good and serve great drinks. I was able to pare down one of my more favorite tastes and figure out what I would like to drink from now on. We were able to have good conversation with the patient bartender as we discussed different drink flavor and such.

Drinks are a bit pricey but it's a cool downtown rooftop bar.

One of my favorite rooftop bars in the city. They carry my favorite wine--- Cloudy Bay sauvignon blanc from Marlborough, New Zealand. Cocktails here are usually pretty strong--- the model diet doesn't taste that good though.

I love the views here, and how there are different rooms/atmospheres. I would suggest coming here for after-work drinks than trying to come at night Thurs-Sat because it's gonna be packed and there's a line! But I say that only because I hate waiting in lines--- overall the scene is great!

ROOF has a big list of signature cocktails that I'd be happy to try, but man are the drinks pricey. The outdoor deck is a highlight, but they close it early. Otherwise, the views are still great. Definitely a club crowd, which I usually avoid, but the area farthest from the dancefloor is pleasant enough to sit and chat. We were staying at the hotel, so we didn't have to pay a cover or wait in a line; we'd have skipped it otherwise.

Don't go to this place, they are racist and they discriminated against my friends and I. We were coming from out of town, and I called and asked what the cover charge was. I was told it was $10 after 9 for ladies. Once we arrived, the manager told my friends and I that it was the doors discretion, it was $300 minimum for a table. Although I told him I just spoke to someone one hour earlier, he was unapologetic and walked back in. Soon after, we saw several groups of white ladies walking in and was able to enter based on the $10 charge. We also spoke to a black male who told us that his friend was already in and although they already had a spot, the manager still would not let him in. His friends left because the hotel would not let them in. It is horrible and disappointing that we would be treated this way

Although this place had some decent views of the city and a good vibe, for me, it is so overrated. The drinks and cover charge costs are simply not worth the the price paid. On the other hand, the service was superb. Just know, better views can be found elsewhere.

This past Saturday I had my sisters Bachelorette party at the Wit. The service, the view, EVERYTHING was great except for the last bottle that we had, which was supposed to be a 400 dollar grey goose bottle, tasted exactly like tequila. We even had two random people taste it without telling them the liquor options and they said it tasted like tequila. It was too late to bring it to anyone's attention because it was half way done. Other than that experience everything was great, but don't like being scammed!

Looking for a unique Chicago experience? This place offers a great view and bar at this swanky hotel. Drinks are pricey, but definitely a way to make an impression on friends, family, dates, etc. Be weary of long lines though towards 10PM+.

I m from NYC and we can be a bit blunt but normally I can go to a bar that s not crowded and ask for something ginny and whatever and they ll just make it for me or run it by me first then make it. I was at the ROOF before it was crowded and the bartender just threw a menu at me when I asked for a vibrant gin drink and just said I m not wasting 5 minutes making a drink you might not like . Done. Didn t buy a single drink here. I ve never been to a bar with service that was so rude. Not even in NYC.
