It is like a museum of America in the 20th century. So much history there. The grounds are spectacular, with views of the mountains all around and the Pacific Ocean in the distance. The grand hall is magnificent, with Air Force One and Marine One offering a glimpse into what it is like behind the scenes with the President. Great cafeteria and gift shop with reasonably priced food and souvenirs.

The name presidential library might be misleading to some, this is a fantastic museum about Ronald Reagan and his two therms as President of United States. But the ultimate highlight is the Air Force One, you can even board it. There is also a Marine One (helicopter), a presidential Limousine as well as a couple other vehicles.
Entrance fee is rather steep (around $30) but well worth it. Very impressive and educational.
I went there a couple years ago for a work and was able to tour the Library, anyone traveling near by needs to stop. And if you are not near by put it on your bucket list, you won't be dissappointed.
The surrounding area is beautiful with breathtaking views up on the balconies. The earlier arrival time helped to find parking. And it just got busier as the day went on. A little one sided view of history, but enjoyable.
I only vist the walk thu Web site and found it a wonderful way to see a Presidential Library that would otherwise be financially impossible for to see because of my unexspected high cost of medicine being a senior under medicare
Worst gender neutral restroom ever! First off there s no toilet or toiletries, second off there s no where to wash ur hands, and third off it s where everyone can see! Never coming back here again!!
Outside of Washington, DC, it is one of the most memorable historic places my family and I have visited. Plan to stay the greater part of a day because it will easily take one full day to view all the exhibits. The library has so much to offer all age groups - and is a very exquisite walk back in time for parents. All of the employees are fantastic and the cafeteria does not take advantage of the sole place for food. It definitely is not a "tourist trap" like other tourist areas, and the gift shop was fantastic and interesting items for yourself and others. The surrounding area the library is located is incredibly scenic, and stopping at the library is just a fantastic way to enjoy this area of California. The huge wing that holds the presidential plane (Air Force One), a presidential motorcade and the presidential helicopter are fascinating. Like the Reagans, everything is in great taste. Will do positively do again!
First and foremost, the Reagan Presidential Museum doesn t participate in the Blue Star Program which provides free tickets for military families. Nearly every other presidential library participates. Such a shame that they don t. I m a huge President Reagan fan and I felt that the museum didn t live up to his legacy. It felt more like a theme park. I think the donor plaques outnumbered the informative signs. ...if he doesn t mind who gets the credit.
This place is awesome. What a wonderful time capsule awaits you inside.
The grounds are immaculate. The library architecture is modeled after his country ranch. With picnic grounds overlooking the valley, and highway 101 leading to Ventura County, you can relax while enjoying a hot meal cooked to order. Or if you prefer, you can grab a cold meal, with wine or beer, and dine in the breathtaking Air Force I Pavilion. The Library is FULL of items, such as the Presidential china sets, the motorcade, the actual 737 AF1 jetliner, and tons of artifacts from Reagan's life. Nancy gets her fair share of representation too. There are always major events going on such as book signings from famous people in politics, to historical exhibits from throughout the world, to formal dinner dances, and holiday parties. I HIGHLY recommend getting a membership as you will want to come back again and again.
The Pompeii exhibit was fantastic. You can learn so much about the volcanic event, and the life of the past here. Most of the artifacts were very neat and the tour wasn t too long. It s something very compelling and interesting.
Additionally, the Reagan section was a great history lesson if you weren t alive for his administration. They have plenty of information on his pre-presidential life, presidential life, and post presidential life.
The views of Simi Valley and beyond were priceless, and the grounds are well taken care of. It s worth the price of admission alone. The food was also very good, and fairly priced. I was expecting it to be garbage, but it pleasantly surprised me.
From the views of the valley, to the great exhibits, and the unbelievable Air Force 1 display, this made for a great trip.
P.S. Be wary however, the Pompeii exhibit might frighten small children.
Very wonderful library museum about one of the greatest presidents we've had in this country. It is a fitting memorial to Former President Ronald Regan and First Lady- memorializing not only his work as our Nation's Leader but his life in whole life in general. We visited during another presentation, The Leonardo DaVinci exhibit. Very nice however not as nice as the tribute to the Regan administration. It can become very crowded. Adults are $25/ea and kids 2-10 $15/ea.
We planned on spending half a day but ending up spending the whole day because it was so interesting. We kind of rushed through the last part of the museum to use the last 30 minutes before closing to briefly skim through the temporary Vatican exhibit. Reagan lived a very interesting and honest life. Everyone should definitely see this museum to see how a great man got this country out of a ten year stagflation by getting rid of the things that our current politicians are doing again to turn us into a nanny state. "Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction." -Ronald Reagan
Amazing experience. My daughter went for a field trip at school and loved going in Air Force One which is not open to the public. DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT.
My wife and I were in the area and drove up to Simi Valley and absolutely loved everything about the museum. Air Force one, the Oval Office and all the history was really cool to see and hear. We spent several hours there enjoying the displays and the breath taking views outside. Highly recommend to anyone.
worst gender neutral restroom ever! there was no toilet, instead just a drain on the floor they expected me to squat and use. not to mention, the place was VERY dirty and smelled of faint boot leather. never coming here again.
My first presidential library visit, and I must say it wasn't at all what I expected. The foundation does an amazing job of providing a framework of Reagan's early and most formative years, laying the foundation of who generations of Americans after would know. The Oval Office and Air Force One are really cool, and honestly awe inspiring.
Even as a huge Reagan fan, I promised myself I would look through a critical view of anything resembling "here is the great leader, see how great he is and he is getting greater all the time." The foundation makes sure we see the man that was Reagan, and all of his flaws that helped him be such a great leader.
I was there a couple of years ago. It gives a great insight into his life before he was president as well as events during his terms. I think he was the greatest Pres you guys ever had. One of his speeches was playing from early in his term and it brought chills remembering the fear we felt in those times. If I go to any of the other libraries I expect they will fall short of this experience.
I love this museum, it is so beautiful, located in picturesque Simi Valley. The exhibits are very informative, walking you through each step of Reagan's life and presidential terms in office. Being able to see the actual Air-force One, and marine one is quite the experience. Even if you are not a fan of his policies, you have to experience the amazing history found here.
I love the presidential libraries and museums. The Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum is my favorite so far. The staff is so friendly and helpful. The exhibits are interesting and informative. The scope of the exhibits is balanced, i.e. not too detailed and not too high-level. You get to know Reagan at a personal level and learn the foundation of his optimism and policies in the context of world and American history.
Got the place recommended by some friends and was not disappointed. It's so beautiful and the way there is a picture of all the presidents on the lamp posts. I got a discount and gave 28 $. I was there an hour when I was to get a worship service in Trinity Church. But nice museum with everything about the president. As well as airfores one and the helicopter. You just have to be awake for the pictures taken 3 pictures 35 $ but you can also take pictures with your own camera. There are cafe, good restrooms, souvenir shop and an extra museum about Pompeii in Italy. I would have liked more time.
What an awesome day out. Been there twice now and it doesn t get old. It can be extremely busy so good idea to call ahead to get an idea of the traffic . If you like to spend time reading everything then you should allocate the whole day. They say 4 hours but there is way too much to read in that time. If you go at Christmas time you can also see presidential Christmas trees exhibits. Planning to go again next year. Love it! We also were fortunate enough to see the titanic exhibit This time.
Large beautiful grounds. The Ronald Reagan hologram is very moving. The whole exhibit is a fine example of a powerful man who was kind and respectful in the use of his power. We went mostly to see the Pompeii exhibit, but the library was great. The Air Force One plane really gives you a sense of nostalgia. You can take pictures throughout, just no flash. If parking says full, still drive up the hill, as people leave all the time and they never move the sign.
Inspiring! Fitting spectacular place for an awesome man. We finally made the trip all the way from Kentucky but it was well worth the trip. 'Thank you' to all who made it possible.
Through technology I was able to take a "virtual tour" of the library. I know it's not the same as being there in person, but seeing that I'll never be able to visit, it was pretty cool. It looks like a beautiful place. RIP Nancy. You're with The Gipper again.
This is easily a Top 10 destination in my book. Beautiful property and views. Loaded with history. A must see if your coming to LA. A bit of a drive, but worth it!
Regardless on your opinion of President Reagan, this museum is fantastic. The exhibits are fantastic and the technology here is fantastic. The Air Force One exhibit is second to none.
Great place for the family. Good for groups. Very informative and is not boring. Lots to see and you can purchase food or snacks and gifts. Good for senior trips.
A fascinating look at the life of this right-wing guy. It really does take several hours to go around. Mostly really interesting. One absolute poor point is what is jokingly called "The Reagan Pub" where the amount of stuff on sale is exceedingly poor. A couple of refrigerators and a shelf of popcorn just isn't good enough.
Expensive! $25 per person... there isnt much to do except the air force one exhibit.. thats pretty much it... plus the security guy at the main lobby was super rude.. hes the only one not wearing the red jacket...he thought he was secret service or something, get over yourself
Scenic overlook of the whole area. We always enjoy visiting this wonderful museum of Ronald Reagan's life and getting something to eat and enjoying the beautiful grounds.
Absolutely surreal. I cried my first step at the library and just kept crying the whole time I was there. I was the last person to leave that day before closing. I loved him so much and just wish he could have lived forever.
Great tours, Beautiful views, and outstanding to spend some hours there. Cafe, store, free parking, paid tours, Air Force One on site and you walk in it. Always temp displays like Titanic show there till Jan 2018. Walk around outside for free and free to enter store. Free to see Berlin Wall outside as will as resting site for President Reagan and his First Lady, outside and free. You may book events there too. Close to hiking that you pass on the way up and down from you visit. You'll see a chain across a road to a water tank, but hike past the tank and to a 20' white Cross overlooking the Reagan Library, Simi Vally, Wood Ranch, Moorpark, Thousand Oaks. Open sunrise to sunset. This is a free walk.
Great exhibits, friendly people. If you are handicap and the parking lots are full you will need to park down a long hill that has a barricade on the passenger side of the car making it difficult to get out. There are shuttles, but you have to climb over the barricade to get to the sidewalk and then back over the barricade to get into the shuttle. There needs to be more signage as to options for the handicap to park.
Regardless of political persuasion, this is a great library to visit as a time capsule of the 80s as well as a timeline of Ronald Reagan's life and political career. Plus, hard to beat walking through the actual Air Force One he flew in!
Asked if they take the EBT card as other LA museums do. Not only did I get a NO, I was treated like the scum of the earth. I know he's a republican, but this is California, and most kids are below the poverty level.
Excellent! The museum was easy to navigate, and we had a great time exploring the life of a great president. The scenery outside was also wonderful. Expect to spend 4-5 hours for an entire experience.
My overall visit to the library was very positive. Most of the staff and volunteers were helpful and friendly. I particularly enjoyed seeing the replica of the oval office and getting to board air force one.
The reason for my 4 star review is that on the way out, the shuttle driver, an older gentleman with a beard, who I originally thought was very friendly said, pointing to the flag bearing the resemblance of President Clinton , ""That's the second worst president the U.S. has ever seen. The first one was probably Carter..." Plop....I couldn't believe how unprofessional and unpleasant his comment was. As someone who greatly admires former president Carter, I found his comment disrespectful, inappropriate, and unnecessary. It definitely put a damper until what had been, until then, a very nice experience. I hope the management at the Reagan library read this and support staff members in behaving respectfully while on the job.
Easily the best of the seven Presidential museums we have visited. Of course having Air Force One hanging in the air like a model plane you can walk through is so meting else.
I have been to the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library several times. Each time, it got better and better. The tour of the museum and the attractions is very nice. Perfectly located atop the mountain -- creating beautiful views for a sunset in the evening.
The gift shop is also very nice. Well priced, as well.
A place to take my guests. Walking inside the air force one it s an amazing experience. The cars used by the presidents and the museum itself is worth a visit. I been there few times and will continue to take my guests there. Love USA.
this really is more a celebration of all things Reagan than a history museum that I would enjoy more. That the first gallery is titled "Evolution of the Great Communicator" tells you what it is going to be like. I liked the Nixon library much better. It was a great history of his presidency.
