Such an honor to be allowed to stay at that RMcD House in Ft Woth. The staff is caring, yet professional... The volunteers are precious, & the facility has everything residents, consumed with worry for our children need.. I began staying here in 2010 when my granddaughter, Leann had her first battle with cancer. We are back now, as she has cancer again, & are so comforted to be received at RMDH like family. Leann lost her mom, who was my daughter after a difficult battle with ALS. She died in November. Having this understanding loving place to stay, sleep & pray for Leann, with broken hearts, is a true gift from God. Thank you, RMDH founders, staff & volunteers, thank you.

We ve only been here a few days, but I am so thankful for them. It has just been absolutely amazing, the staff is great, the volunteers are great, and it s located within walking distance to cook children s. It s nice having somewhere to go while my daughter is in the CICU. We were staying in the hospital with her but after a month in the hospital it had become just cramped so I am so thankful to the Ronald McDonald house.

Place of hope, love and comfort at the time when it's needed the most. Having my own child with half a heart I know how much this place is needed and appreciated by families like mine. Our hospital didn't have one of these nearby so I had to drive 40 miles every day to as my child. This night of the organization we belong to cooked and served dinner... HopeKids.. they provide free events for families like mine to enjoy. #LetsGuide

I'm not very happy with the ft. Worth location my daughter was down there getting treatment for her 8 month old daughter who is a victim of HIE. They were told that they needed to stay for 4-5 days, they got a referral from the hospital upon calling RMc H they were in formed that this location only takes reservations Monday- Wednesday so they couldn't get a room. The first night they stayed in their vehicle, once were found that out were played four their next three nights in a slumy yet pricey motel. So thanks alot RMcH......... for nothing at all!

All I can say is .. thank you for the outpouring love and support. The support you receive from the employees, the volunteers and even the other families - no words can do it justice. The facility is clean .. and very well organized. The RMHFT is definitely a blessing .

Very frustrated with this Ronald McDonald House. M...

Very frustrated with this Ronald McDonald House. My son is a TBI Survivor and is currently at Texas Rehabilitation Hospital. When I first called I was told very rudely we can t accept you here. I asked why not that their website says pt 21 and under, and he s 20. She then proceeded to tell me that because we aren t in a peds hospital. I got our case manager at Kindred Southwest involved and he spoke with the COO. She did accept us and he told her that it would not be an every night needed situation. He was told for me just to call in at 8:30 AM on the nights needed. Wednesday morning I called at 8:30 then was called back being told they don t have our referral and that they r full anyways. I know this is incorrect because I had the confirmation in my hand. I got with our caseworker over at Kindred and he called them. This time he was told that it was thrown away because I hadn t called in and that we would have to do it all again. He was also told that I needed to call in every day by 8:30 regardless if we needed it or not. That still wasn t a guarantee that I d get a room on the night I needed. I understand this place helps a lot of families in need but they dropped the ball here. My son may not be at Cook s but he is still under the age criteria and we are still a family that is going through a very difficult time. Ronald McDonald really drooped the ball here and I will not be recommending y all to anyone.

Be careful and check your room and bed for bugs. This place has bed bugs and the staff is blaming us saying that we brought it even though we came straight from the hospital. To make matters worse, rather than fixing the problem they are kicking us out. Now my 8month pregnant cousin and her son have to find a new place to stay his 1st round our chemo treatment is complete in 3wks.

This place is awesome! Everything you could need with cooking facilities, a play room with toys, a gym, multiple laundry rooms and even a mascot labradoodle that is the best with kids. I'm putting money in the little change box every time I visit McDonald's from now on.

Hands down, no arguments, the Ronald McDonald Hous...

Hands down, no arguments, the Ronald McDonald House is a wonderful organization. This review is based on my stay at the RMH in Fort Worth so far:

I'm not a huge fan of the fact that there is no food or drinks (except water) allowed in our rooms although, I can understand why this is a rule. I also do not like that there is only one working dryer on my side of the first floor. Also, for those who are smokers - there is no covered smoking area, the smoking area is designated where the dumpsters are located and only provide one chair for seating which is broken. Lastly, I don't like that the side access door doesn't allow entrance after 10 p.m., another drawback for smokers who are up late or are on night shift schedules because we have to walk all the way around the building (sometimes in the rain) just to get back inside.

With all of that being said, I do appreciate all that the RMHFW provides. There is a shuttle service in place for those without vehicles, even a vehicle you can borrow to go run errands. We get free meals when outside companies donate food and/or have time to come cook for us. I appreciate the community refrigerator and pantry because who has time to grocery shop when we're worrying about our little one's. I appreciate that we can do our laundry here and that we have private rooms (bathrooms included). It's overall an amazing organization and I'm so thankful that i've been able to stay here until I can bring my baby home with me.

I've rarely stayed at a location that made me feel like I was family as well as they did. I hope I never have to return since it was due to an extended hospital stay...but if we had to return to Cook Children's hospital, we'd not hesitate to return to Ronald McDonald House.

For the most part, we ve always had a good stay here. It s helpful to be so close to the hospital. We were grateful for the many times we were given a room. $20 a night is cheap compared to most local hotels close by. Plus they have access to a kitchen and events for the children during the holidays. It s the closest thing to home!

About Ronald McDonald House of Fort Worth

Ronald McDonald House of Fort Worth: A Home Away from Home for Critically Ill Children

The Ronald McDonald House of Fort Worth (RMHFW) is a non-profit organization that provides a home away from home for families with critically ill children who are receiving medical treatment at Cook Children's Medical Center. The charity was founded in 1981 and has since been providing support to families in need.

The RMHFW is located just steps away from Cook Children's Medical Center, making it convenient for families to be close to their children during their hospital stay. The house offers comfortable accommodations, including private bedrooms and bathrooms, communal living spaces, laundry facilities, and a fully equipped kitchen where families can prepare meals.

One of the main reasons why the RMHFW exists is to help families cope with the emotional and financial stress that comes with having a child who is seriously ill. Families often have to travel long distances to get specialized medical care for their child, which can be expensive and time-consuming. The RMHFW provides free lodging so that families can focus on what really matters – taking care of their sick child.

The RMHFW serves families whose children are being treated for a wide range of illnesses, including cancer, heart disease, premature birth complications, and other serious conditions. The house has 58 guest rooms that can accommodate up to six people each. Families are welcome to stay as long as they need while their child receives treatment at Cook Children's Medical Center.

In addition to providing lodging for families in need, the RMHFW also offers various programs and services designed to make life easier for parents and siblings during this difficult time. These include:

- Meals: Volunteers provide breakfast every morning and dinner every evening so that parents don't have to worry about cooking.
- Transportation: The house provides shuttle service between the hospital and the house so that parents don't have to worry about parking or navigating unfamiliar streets.
- Activities: There are various activities available at the house such as arts & crafts sessions or movie nights which provide an opportunity for family members staying at Ronald McDonald House Fort Worth Texas together.
- Support groups: Parents can connect with other parents going through similar experiences through support groups organized by staff members.
- Educational resources: Staff members provide educational resources on topics such as nutrition or coping strategies during stressful times.

All these programs aim towards making sure that family members feel supported throughout this challenging period in their lives.

The Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) network operates more than 300 houses worldwide serving millions of people annually; however each location operates independently based on local needs assessment while adhering strictly under global standards set by RMHC Global office headquartered in Chicago USA.
