Great for the community. This facility has a pool weight and excersise rooms and various other things to do inside. Membership required but reasonably priced and well worth it. Located within just a few blocks of Jervis public library.
Unfortunately our Y has a lot of run down equipment that is "out of order" way to often. My fiance was running on a treadmill and it shut down while he was running all out and he hurt himself pretty badly. He emailed management about that and the hot tub being closed most mornings before he goes to work and the manager was very rude to him and acted like he HIS Y was perfect. While the management acts this way, the rest of the workers there are more than friendly and always willing to try to help you out.
The water in the shower is sometimes a little too hot!!
Clean facility with no funky smell that so many other places have. Child care services is great.
Only drawback is the infared sauna is out of order a lot.
I am very disappointed at this Y. I have a lot of experience working at Y s from NC and the overall motto of the Y is that everyone is welcome and everyone is supposed to be treated with a smile and with respect. I had a very unfortunate phone call experience regarding admitting my grandchildren for swim lessons. I tried to sign up but got sidelined with, they will need to be assessed before they can be placed in a class in which she refused to tell me how many slots were available to make sure it was worth my time going in the facility in the first place with a toddler, a kindergartner and a 7 year old. I then called up the Oneida Y, I asked about the swim lessons and she was able to offer up this information immediately. I was going to sign up 3 children at this Y, as we live in Rome. Trying to shop local. But too bad for you because I signed up with Oneida instead. Not to mention they are 20 miles away, it will be worth the trip each time. And bonus, they are much more modern and a very family friendly Y, at Oneida. I m saddened to even have had the experience of the Rome Y and wish it were different and hope senior admin can evaluate this situation as a teachable moment for all. You never know who s watching and it s always best to show your best side and get the ultimate result: local monies and community.
During this year s annual giving campaign, maybe strive for newer equipment, and customer service training classes for your staff going forward. If you say you are here for the members and the community , act like it.
No, its not new and cosmetically modern, BUT It Offers so many activites on a daily basis for all ages and all levels of fitness. The amenities are great: steam room, sauna, infrared sauna, hot tub and 2 pools-heated. All the classes for adults are great and free! Free child watch. teen center Offers a great safe area. Take a tour! Best bang for your dollar is the Y. $56/month for family!

Its a good place to workout go swimming or play any sports
Yeah this Y isn't in the greatest shape, nor is any Y I've been too. Cosmetics set aside, its great considering all the programs and child watch. Now I can work out for an hour and a half 3 days a week and have them watch my kids for me. No where else has a pool around here either.
Great workout... hated wearing the mask but what you going to do..
It's where I work and everyone is like family. Also we have alot of great class which are free with a membership.
