Awesome beer selection and good place to go for some beer cheese....everything.

The food is superior and the service is good. My server was helpful and cheerful. I have no complaints, and would have given 5 stars if my check had come more timely.

This is a great place to enjoy great food and drinks the staff are really nice they have a great menu. Have a great selection on drinks if you don't see what you like to drink you can always ask and see if they will make it for you and they would try to make it.

Worst service ever the gal at the bar walked by us the whole time without even asking us if we wanted anything. Finally they threw a menu in front of us. After about 20 minutes we finally got a beer and it was slow.

Drove thru town yesterday and noticed they have displayed the rainbow flag on their building. Great for them supporting diversity in these tumultuous times in our country.

The food here is really good, as is the service. But it seems like every time I go there live music is playing. The acoustics of the place (it's basically a big garage) make it so the music drowns out everything and socializing is impossible. If you want to sit down and yell over good food then this place is perfect. Otherwise if your intention is to sit down with some friends over lunch or dinner I would recommend one of the many other restaurants even on the same street.

My burger was very tender and juicy; my friend's grilled fish tacos were a bit bland. However, our waitress informed us beforehand that that recipe had recently been changed and they were getting some negative feedback, so it may go back to the old recipe soon.

Food was excellent service was fast couldn't have asked for better for a quick stop for lunch.

Stopped in with the family after a motocross race up the road. Super cool Sunday vibe. Bartender/server was awesome. Sat outside on the patio in the sunshine. Great beer. Perfect burger n fries.

It s okay. I was happy they have wild Salmon on the menu and I don t drink so not sure about the beers but I m sure they re good. Service leaves quite a bit to be desired.

Great beer! Excellent service and good food. First time visiting, stopped in for an adult beverage and stayed for lunch...good choice. Got to sit outside, perfect day for beer and friends. I tried the Rivertap nitrous Stout was very smooth, heavy coffee but soft finish, perfect head. Next up the other Rivertap Stout, excellent dark beer served ice cold (even better as it warmed) lastly I had a Oatmeal Stout from the "tap swap" visiting brewery, was good but not my favorite. Lunch was homemade custom mac and cheese---WOW some of the best I have had EVER! Ordered w/o peppers but still had great flavor with a bittie bite. Table also had the calamari which was good, great sauce with quite a bite. Raspberry lemon drop martinis were a hit too. Of course dessert was perfect, 2 homemade (hot) chocolate chip cookies served with rich vanilla bean ice cream sandwiched in the middle.
Service was outstanding! Our glasses never emptied even when the place started packing with evening event. Large place and everyone worked together to cover all our needs. Will definatly return next time in The Dalles, of course for the beer but for sure the amazing MAC!

Just finished a fantastic meal at the River Tap, best meal on this trip so far. The wraps and salads that my wife and I had were fresh and flavorful. Well done!

Nice selection of local beers including some if their own. The hummus platter had some wonderful peppadew peppers and nice toasted pita bread. I also had the lettuce wraps as my main course. The wraps we're good, but they could have used some more flavor. A second visit I had french onion soup and steak tacos. The soup was OK, but really thick and seemed out of proportion with the small amount of bread and cheese. The tacos had no flavor except for pepper. They were also covered with a ton of their slaw. I had to remove the slaw to pick them up and then the pick was gone. Proportions and flavors seem to keep missing here. I don't think I will be back.

Went in for early lunch while traveling through from Montana to the Oregon Coast. They had just opened and we had great service, and very tasty food. My Artisan Chicken Quesadilla was absolutely delicious!

Fast, & friendly service! Decent drink prices, amazing food. And... a very nice patio! Definitely worth the stop!

Worst restaurant I've ever been to. Can't complain about the food because it took so long to arrive i never tried it. I asked where my food was and got the worst attitude from the female server at the bar. We left immediately after waiting 40 plus minutes. Would never go back even if the food was free.

I m here working for summer, fall and winter. I ve been here 2x now. This place just keeps getting better. Staff - excellent!!!! Food- excellent. I can t say enough good things about this place. So glad I found it!!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE.

This place is our favorite haunt in The Dalles. The food is always good. The staff treats us like family and they always have a smile and sometimes even a hug for us. Good people and good food combined to make sure that we have a great time.

Nice as far as bars go. There's not enough staff to accommodate the number of people in the bar.

We had vegetarian pesto sandwich with sweet potato fries. Sandwich was excellent, fries absolutely amazing. Beer was great, service was off the charts fabulous. Our server went so over and above for us.

The service was incredibly friendly and the food was phenomenal. Some of the best fish n chips I've ever had. Very good beer selection as well.

This place does a great job of getting different PNW beers in on a regular basis. Food is good, service is friendly and attentive.

Lunch outting with residents from the Oregon Veterans Home. Two wait staff, place fairly busy but got water and menus within 15min. $$$ , indoor and outside dining. Food is very good. Parking my bus was an issue.

Food was very good cocktail was excellent but waitress never came back to check on us!

Seems pretty expensive for what you get more of a after work stop in for a beer....

In spite of Covid, they stay positive and welcoming. I always feel like the staff here is attentive and friendly. Knowledgeable about what they stock and can make recommends. Can't wait until the live music comes back. Great laid back environment.

Excessive flies prevented me from enjoying the meal.

I'm a guy so easy to please, but when we ask for ketchup for a to go burger and fries and you forget it? A simple request?

Quick service, great fish and chips, fries unlike I've ever had (flaky crispy outside, hot soft interior).

Staff was knowledgeable and very helpful. Food was great. Beer was great. It was exactly what we were looking for.

These wings tasted horrible. No crunch just soft gooey skin. My friends had two different meals one was okay the other was slathered with mayonnaise to the point he threw it out. Bottumly line this place needs to improve.

Terrible service... servers have a lot of attitude. If you are sitting at a table and want a beer or a menu you have to go to the bar and get it yourself. I've give the place several chances and always been disappointed. Too many good places with friendly service in town to EVER go back to rivertap.

Was a short quick visit. Place was a clean, friendly, nice menu food was excellent. If I'm in the area again I will go back. Recommend.it!!!

Was a OK pace to eat and watch a game. But it was Sunday and they had a live band. First it was way to loud. The name was Sunday jamin night....it sounding like 3 guys in a basement learning to play together or just jaming with each other. Not good! We left as fast as we could Cuz of it. People moved from the front to back room and it was still to loud. Would go again if they did not have a live band or a bad band for that matter.

This is the second time we've frequented this establishment, both times the service has been sub-par and lacks professionalism. The beer was barely cold even off the tap. Not a place I'd recommend or try again.

Update 10/15/19 downgraded from 5* to 2* it would be a zero if not for the other good times. At the bar waiting for service and the bartender was talking with friends. Looked right at us and took 2 steps toward us like she was going to help then turned her back and kept talking. After a few minutes looking the menu over and selecting and waiting a couple of more minutes with no service we went down the street to Clock Tower Ales and had a drink within 1 minute of walking in and they were a lot busier than the rivertap. Horrible service, we were prepared to spend $40 + on food & drink we also give 20% tip for good service. Guess we will be spending our money at the Clock Tower from now on // Ate lunch here for the first time with my girlfriend and it was excellent. Fast and friendly service. We split the Chicken Cesar Wrap and I had a Rivertap IPA, she had a long island. Everything was EXCELENT and looking forward to going back and trying more things on the menu.

Great food and friendly atmosphere and helpful staff, love coming here for the food and drinks, they have a great selection of beers and some ciders. They also have live bands. You need to come try it out and see for yourself how great it is here.

We stopped here on day 9 of a road trip with two kids and a baby. We traveled from North Bend, Wa to Colorado Springs.. Going through Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, and Utah. This place was honestly the best food on our trip. We are avid beer lovers and tried multiple breweries and pubs along our way.


My partner said it was the best Cobb salad in his 40 years of experience eating salads - egg was fresh and the color was good, lettuce was fresh, good balance, the chicken was unbelievably good (seasoning was spot on), etc. - all ingredients were obviously fresh.
Kids had the fish and chips (sweet potato fries - perfect) and they were also spot on.

Great beer options - decent range of types on tap from dark to light. I had a saison and my partner started with their house made Bloody Mary - complete with pickled asparagus and a green bean, olives and pearl onions. He wished it had more Worcestershire but it was still an 8.5 out of 10.

Service was good although the kitchen was slightly slower than expected but worth the wait. The inside atmosphere was comfortable for having three kids including a stroller.

Overall this place was excellent! We were so glad we stopped here and would go out of our way to return.

Service is always fantastic. The menu is pared down right now, but still good. Their house beers are very good.

Excellent IPA, but a limited menu for food options. Why they do offer is quite expensive for what you actually get. I ordered a chicken wrap with fries and it was $13. The burger is $14.

However, they have a lovely patio and the staff was fantastic.

Today was a terrible lunch experience. One order was missing ingredients (which were listed on the menu) without letting me know and they forgot my added chicken, to the salad. The two lettuce wrapped burgers in our party were pathetic and missing pickle chips. The wait was over 50 minutes to get food then we had to wait longer for the correct order. There was no itemized receipt or offer to correct our experience. Very disappointed.

Poor service, food was....edible and the drinks were....drinkable. sad to say less then impressed...

Amazing service. The guys who were working that evening are funny and had fun while doing their job.
