I liked this eye doctor. But then suddenly and out of the blue, I received a letter from a collections agency about a bill I had paid 6 months ago, with just a week to resolve it. I had to drop everything to deal with Wills Eye to prove it was paid, and it still might damage my credit. I never received an apology for their accounting error, from either Wills Eye or Rittenhouse. It's simply not worth risking your credit to get an eye exam.
Continuously I have had disappointing experiences with this office. I'm always waiting, the staff is incredibly rude and unhelpful and most recently they refused to honor my contacts prescription claiming that it was expired, even though it was not. At this point in time, the disappointment has overwhelmed me and I have no other choice than to move onto a new doctor.
Doc-tour fix eyes. Very good. Then I see doc is J00!!! 5 star anyway because reception take un cut Imam cawk all de way to de base!
A few years ago I needed my cateracts removed. Dr Harris told me I was a good candidate for multifocal lens. I agreed to the surgery. I have been seeing great ever since. That was November 2009. O tell e every body about Dr Harris. Ouida
Dr. Harris helped me when I developed a cataract a couple years ago, and I recently went to see him again for a YAG laser procedure. I'm pleased with the results and grateful that I can see clearly now. He takes the time to explain what's going on. The new office is a lot more spacious than the old one, and wait times are very short now, the operation seems to have gotten more efficient.
The staff was excellent. The waiting time was very short. My exam was more than thorough. I highly recommend Dr. Harris. He made me feel well cared for.
Life Changing! Dr. Harris has given me the greatest gift of my life. After cataract surgery I now have perfect vision in both of my eyes. I can read small type as well as see at a distance and all without glasses or contact lenses.
I now have better vision than at my birth.

I went to Rittenhouse Eye Associates this morning for a general check up. I secluded my appointment and was 15 minutes early. I wanted to be a new patient because I found the location to be convenient to my home. However, service here is terrible. I came in and was told that I could not be seen because the contact physician was not in and asked to come in Monday. I could not even get my eyes checked. I am a working person who cannot just move my schedule around constantly. No one asked any questions when I scheduled my appointment about what I was looking for. I wasted more than an hour of my time- filled out all the paperwork only to find that I could not even get a check up. Do not waste your time here. This place is terrible!
I had to make an appointment a week in advance and when I showed up for the appointment I sat in the waiting room for an hour. What s the point of making an appointment when you can t honor the time?
Lasik is the best investment in myself that I have made to date. Rittenhouse Eye Associates made it so easy for me, with the 0% installment payments to the inviting waiting room for patients and family. The staff are warm and compassionate. Seeing Dr. Walter Harris Nicole Harris for my follow up from Lasik surgery. Dr. Harris is the best eye doctor I have ever seen (pun intended ). He makes you feel so comfortable and relaxed. I was really nervous about having the Lasik surgery...I even had vowed I would never ever let anyone do surgery on my eyes, but Dr. Harris really helped me and he was so gentle and kind. He explained everything and was extremely professional. I now am an advocate for Lasik surgery with Dr. Harris!! I would tell EVERYONE AND ANYONE who wears glasses to have a consultation with Dr. Harris to see if you are eligible to have the surgery. Then save your money and get it done. Unfortunately, my insurance didn't cover it. They do offer financing, however, I just put money away and saved for it. It is one of the ABSOLUTE best investments I ever made!!! I am so happy with the results and am excited I can see better than 20/20 and I do not have to wear glasses except when I want to put on a pair of sunglasses to be cute !! I went here with my daughter as a new patient. I was 15 minutes early. I waited for a full hour and 25 minutes. Reminded the front desk person that my meter was going to run out multiple times. She was rude and took a disrespectful tone with me when I asked about getting a courtesy call to let me know I would be waiting for an hour and 25 minutes. In the end I left without being seen and my daughter missed half a day of school. Other people in the waiting room were having the same issue. Seems like the doctors overbook themselves and expect everyone to wait around all afternoon. I wouldn't have given them any stars but this system wouldn't let me post unless I gave them one star.
Dr. Walter Harris is very efficient and a professional optomolgist and well respected by his peers. I would recommend Dr. Harris for the most complicated of eye cases.
Terrible experience! I do not recommend this provider to anyone, unless you want to be treated unprofessionally and humiliated. My appointment was for 10 am, I was admitted at 11.30! After I was admitted the doctor - Ngoc Au- kept disappearing for 20-30 minutes. Each time she came back and would not even apologize. One time she said that they were having a special case there and she was helping, but she said it so condescendingly that I felt like I m less than a patient there. She was bossy and didn t explain to me what she was doing. She did not share with me any results, she did not discuss with me anything! I had to take off my contacts for her to give me eye drops, and after she gave me eye drops she kicked me out of her office and disappeared again. For 30 minutes. Then they directed me to another office, and when I asked about my contacts that were left in the other office, they couldn t find them. They lost my contacts! When the doctor finally came back I asked her if they treat every patient like this? To which she answered: do you want the eye exam or not? . Then she went away again and returned with my prescription. She had not discussed my prescription with me, she did not report to me the results of my eye exam. When I asked, she said that everything s fine. I talked to a manager and the manager got rid of me with a couple of standard apologies, and offer to reimburse me $10 of my co-pay. So I spent 3 hours there, when the only thing I needed is a routine eye exam and glasses prescription. I got insulted, threatened to not get the service if I go on complaining, and waisted 3 hours of my life. If I could give this provider 0 stars, I would!
Waits are excessively long. The staff is pleasant enough but I had to walk out after waiting 2 hours past my appointment time. I asked for them to print out my contact prescription, only to see they printed the wrong thing. I am disappointed that so much of my time was wasted.
My first visit to Dr. Harris' office was impressive. Every staff member seemed courteous, assuring, knowledgeable and proficient. Some of his patients who were there that day shared their experiences with me. Most memorable was an elderly lady in her 80s who said, "I am old and nothing works anymore except my eyes. After Dr. Harris worked on them i can now see almost as good as when I was 21".
I am retired and have returned to both art and the making of bows and arrows. After my surgery i suddenly saw colours i did not know were contained in my work. The world around me was astonishing and appeared to be some other place than Earth. Dr. Harris answered all of my questions and kept insisting that I should never be reluctant to ask anything or express any concern. Since my surgery I have recommended his office to anyone I know that is considering any sort of eye operation.
The actual doctors are fine. Other than that, this facility is trash. The last time I was there, I counted 23 people in the waiting room. They overbook constantly. The front desk people are ratchet and borderline incompetent, overtalk you, one even implied a threat before. They never follow instruction, even when it's from the actual doctors about a patients return visit. They don't listen. Good luck ordering anything. They will call you multiple times for payment that has already been established. They will NOT call to let you know your order has been backdated for an undetermined amount of time. Vision is important to most people I think. The people operating customer service and office management don't care at all. They clearly would rather be (and quite frankly deserve to be) in the streets by their behavior and it's a poor reflection of the doctors there.
Please donot go here. Service here is very bad. First of all the doctor and the place is not very organized. Not a very professional place. Staff is so laid back. I ordered my contacts and they never got back to me even after 6months and when I called I was kept on hold for 25 minutes. After this review, it is upto you whether you go here or not!
