Super cute place, great food quite big portions and the genuin Italian servers were the friendliest. Definitely worth going for a full Italian experience.
Super cute place, great food quite big portions and the genuin Italian servers were the friendliest. Definitely worth going for a full Italian experience.
This is my favorite pizza place! The crust is fantastic and the toppings are amazing! The calamari tossed in spicy tomato sauce is the best calamari I have had in town!
Great food and great atmosphere. Great couple spot.
I'm very to the point with these so here you go.
-Pros
Decor and atmosphere.
Negroni was awesome.
Server was on point.
My Calamari and pizza was as perfect as I think it could get and the price was fair.
-Cons
Ordered the Kale Salad and asked for the Prosciutto bits to be removed as my wife isn't exactly down with that and they forgot but did take care of it quickly and gave us more salad in turn.
Tables on either side of us arrived later than we had and got their app and mains before we did which made is wonder if we'd be forgotten.
Will be returning for sure, The food hit the spot and was excellent. Highly recommended.
I was really impressed by the food and service! We will return sooner then later.
EXCELLENT ! The best pizza hand thrown crust. All
Menu items are authentic and delectably delicious! The experience to be there is as great as the pizza! Friendly welcoming staff. Order in safely or to take home. Remember to ask for the in-house chilli oil for your pizza!

Classic Italian place, the style is a little dated - it feels kind of 90s inside. But, the 90s are back! And the food is amazing. Service is excellent as well, very knowledgeable staff.
Maybe I ordered the wrong thing... Mushroom Pizza. The sauce was supposed to be mushroom sauce but it was more blended mushrooms to a paste like baby food. It was weird and flavorness.
Our service was crappy as well. They sat us beside a private party even though the rest of the restaurant was empty. Our table of 4 had to tell across the table to communicate.
The cocktails are good, and I had part of an anchini that was good.. pretty much the only saving grace.
Much better spots in Calgary in my opinion.
Great dinner date sure to impress anyone. Very welcoming space, with a modern Italian feel. Highly recommend.
Service was great, especially since we were a large group. The food was alright and a little over priced in my opinion. The pizza I got had pretty good toppings but was pretty burnt on the bottom. I also had some of a pasta dish that was nothing really special. Drinks were fine, but also over priced considering what you were getting.
The service was great, and the food was really delicious as well. I ordered Rucola pizza and mushroom pasta, and they were awesome! I wanna visit this restaurant again.
Amazing Italian food. I'm vegan and the staff are beyond accommodating and knowledgeable about the menu. Will be back many times!
This is one of the best Italian places in town, large servings and really good wine variety.
Been here many times, never been disappointed. Great food, awesome service.
The pizza was amazing and the server was very funny
Good food and casual atmosphere. Just felt relaxed here and the service was really good.
Busy, popular place on the weekend. Probably recommend reservations on the weekend. The bruschetta & caprese salad was amazing. The pizza is nothing great, flavor nothing remarkable and the bottom was burnt, this was the 2nd time I was there with same results which is why I wondered why it was so busy. Thought I'd go there for a taste of italy after arriving home from there. I'd only recommend for appies & drinks
Order the lasagna - it's very cheesy and delicious! Friendly staff!
To describe Pulcinella's work as merely "the best pizza I ever had in my life" is to damn with faint praise and an accidental association with the greasy bread products of fast food popularity. What Pulcinella fires and serves is a dough of brilliant texture and depth, toppings of breathtaking quality and flavour, and a crust that achieves precisely the combination of chewy, crunchy, and bubbly that ought to be what you think of when you hear "pizza."
Amazing atmosphere. Fantastic food and a crazy big wine list to add. A little pricey, but totally worth it, it's all about the experience. Will be suggesting this place to everyone I know who enjoys authentic cooking.
We ordered the $16 ceaser salad to share amongst 4 with our pizzas. It is literally 3 bites. What a ripoff. No shame, I guess.
Great place for a company Christmas party. We had like a 7-8 course meal so much food it's hard to make it to desert. A lot of fun and a great atmosphere. Staff was exceptional.
While the food at Pulcinella was relatively good, the service and ambiance left something to be desired. At every turn, we felt rushed. Starters were out within 5 minutes of ordering and mains were out less than 3 after our starters were cleared. We were asked if we wanted dessert while people were obviously still eating their mains Fast service is generally good, but we were looking to have a nice night out, and it was much, much too rushed. As a result, some of us ate too quickly and felt ill. The service, likely as a result of this need to rush, was somehow worse. We felt pressured to eat quickly and make room for other patrons, and at one point, our server asked one of the other diners a direct question and turned and walked away mid-sentence during his reply. Unforgivable! This rudeness left a bad taste in everyone's mouth. I should note that we did not take hours to eat, but around 40 minutes. Finally, the noise level was far too high for this type of restaurant. It was difficult to hear each other speak because of the volume of the music and amplified sounds of other patrons talking. Even our server admitted he could barely hear anything near where we were sitting when we complained. He claimed he couldn't do anything about it. All in all, I wouldn't go back to Pulcinella. At these prices, I want to be able to sit for at least an hour to enjoy the evening out and talk with my dinner party. I also expect not to be treated with rudeness and to be able to hear people when they talk to me. It seems as though Pulcinella is trying too hard to be trendy, and they miss the mark. There are too many excellent restaurants in the Kensington area to waste your time and money here.
Food wasn t that great relative to the price. Service wasn t punctual, and the pizza flavours were not on point.
Famosa is far better and less expensive.
Sloppy, comically overrated, ludicrously overpriced restaurant. The Valentine's day four-course was genuinely appalling. My main was supposed to be veal tenderloin, but I was served a baffling mess of dry-as-sawdust ground pork (beef?) wrapped in leathery pork meat. It was smothered in an unpleasant tomato sauce that overpowered the taste of everything else. One can t help but suspect that they were getting rid of leftovers. The cucumber salad, which contained bizarrely large chunks of cucumber and tomato, was tasteless. The bruschetta, if you can call it that, was inedibly chewy pita bread (I m not kidding). The cannoli were burnt. Loud, obnoxious music playing in the background ruined any hope of conversation.
Amazing food and service! I went to Italy last Sept. and have been craving authentic Italian pizza since. This was perfect and possibly better than some of the pizza I had in Italy. Tasted some of the lasagna as well and it was one of the best I have ever had. I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone. Only downside was the noise level but it's a small price to pay for the high quality of everything else there.
We love the place but... pizza seems to always be burnt, it's too bad since the pizza itself is good, also the rest of the menu is good. I don't know if they burn the pizzas on purpose or not... And I'm not talking a little bit burnt, the whole bottom and crust is black, half of the taste is just burnt bread... would be 5 stars otherwise...
Good pizza, but please cut the pizza before bringing it to the table. Good wine selection and nice atmosphere
It was ok, no complaints on the service, food was pretty good but there was no wow factor, the pizza lack execution, there was no much effort on the dough stretching.
I love the authentic pizza. Although the salads are way over priced for what you get.
The food has always been amazing in the few years I have been coming here. Have had a few events here as well and am never disappointed
Went for the lunch special. I was not disappointed! Ordered the pizza as well and it was amazing. Salad was refreshing. Carbonara was creamy and loaded with flavour. Pizza dough was fluffy and soft and the flavour was on point. Authentic and delicious. Will come back.
One of my favourite pizza places in Calgary. Always great food and service.
Very great food! Nice and fresh and full of flavour!
Real Italian pizza!!! If you like the real stuff, best place in Calgary.
Loved the truffle and egg yolk pizza! Perfectly complemented by a fresh sangria
Amazing Pizza, Been to Naples twice and this pizza brought me back. I thought Una had the Calgary pizza crown but Pulcinella takes the cake.
Had some family in town and we wanted some comfort food that was filling and priced well so we went to Pulcinella. Food quality is always superb and service was perfect. Sam the GM is always a pleasure to deal with. We had my 5 year old daughter with us and the atmosphere is perfect for kids. One of our favorite go to spots.
Absolutely amazing service and amazing food. It was an amazing experience for our staff party. Thank you Pulcinella
Pretty disorganized. Waiter service was pretty terrible.
Great atmosphere, and quality food. Pizza was soggy in the middle however because all the toppings we're stacked dead center. The juices built up and didn't allow for a stable piece of pizza. I had to fold it up like a weird taco lol. A bit pricey for what it is but overall a good meal. Server was attentive and kind, we had to bail because we we're almost late for a show we had tickets to, (pizza took a fair bit of time) when we let him know he packed eveytime up quick time and grabbed the bill. Would return.
Food is amazing. Only downside is that it can be very loud with lots of background noise in the restaurant.
No complaints. Pasta is great, service is friendly and fast.
Amazing food fired & authentic neapolitan pizza! Excellent service everytime! Love their lunch menu.
Amazing service. Amazing food. Can't wait to come back again!
Great service. Great food, large portions. Absolutely would recommend to a friend. Plan on visiting again. Shoutout to Greg for the impeccable service, shoutout to the chefs for the top notch food.
Amazing pizza, gelato and wine. Staff are all really friendly and helpful. We were able to eat their regular crust as the dough ingredients come from Italy so we didnt get a celiac reaction to it.
Service was amazing for a large group. They agreed to do separate billing which was awesome for a group of 30+. The food was pretty good but not their best that day but still good, (large group is hard I'm sure). Will come back.
This restuarant was a must 10- 14 years ago! The pizza or pasta dishes was delectable services was knowledgeable and great recommendation wine pairings with your selected dishes! Just the right place to induce a perfect meal. Now, after many year of not having the occasion to go there. Uesterday with a friend we want it to go to a good place and indulge a nice meal.. Ho boy we were wrong to go there! Our server was seemes inattentive at the time our order was quite sample. 1 steam muscle. 1 bruschetta for entre 1 rigatoni. 1 gnocchi. And 1 bottle of house wine Pinot Noire. Right.... 3 times our servers had to came back to us and repeat our order... to make sure of what..?? I dont know lol. Moving on, our dishes come to our table and the bruschetta we ordered was a big pizza with antipasto style topped with arugula... I felt my food knowledgeable was taking a hit here as to my understanding a bruschetta is relatively a Italian tomatoes salsa with toasted garlic bead right. No it's no longer that a bruschetta to them is now a pizza dough with antipasto...!?! Wait what..! I got so confused... Anyways there is more to it but you go an idea. This place was amazing before, now this place is big time lacking of cultural food. Now it could be our server that night - But I felt that from service to cooking this need to be totally be revisited top to bottom. VERY SAD!
Amazing staff and even better food! Best Italian in the city forsure!
Nice place. Real pizza. Every time we have a good service and good food. Nothing to complaint about. Sometimes its busy. But I guess because its worth it to be there. One day these guys saved my lost phone. Thanks!
Great food and atmosphere. Pizza was excellent. Try the lasagna. It was different from any I've ever had, and really good! Staff was very helpful. Parking can be a little challenging, but keep circling the block and you will eventually luck out!
My friends urged me to "get myself back out there," after a horrific breakup, and I finally landed a date with a girl. We arrived at Pulcinella on a warm summer's night and I ordered the cheapest bottle of wine. $43 !!.
I found the girl unbearable. She rambled on about the mundane details of her life, never asking me a single question about my heartache, about my dreams, about me. I was going to leave. Then my calzone arrived.
A cheesy, doughy concoction with great integrity, smooth mozza, sensual meat, and tangy sauce. I found its taste took my mind away from the vociferous shrew. While she blathered on, I mentally drifted to an old Italian square and I pictured, in her place, a beautiful vixen.
Although I never want to see her again. I would love to return to this location.
Excellent place to go for Neapolitan pizza. The staff are very accommodating and the food/drinks are a great quality. Kudos Pulcinella staff!
Best pizza I've ever had. Surprisingly slow service since we were the only ones in the restaurant.
The food is delicious and authentic, the atmosphere and service is great. If I have one critique, it's that I felt it's pretty presumptuous to set 18% as the minimum tip option.
Great place for authentic thin crust pizza. A little pricey, but worth it.
Amazing customer service. We always make it a stop when our family visits from Eastern Canada. Great staff, incredible service and honestly they never fail to deliver the best meal to the table each and every visit. Last visit we were in the middle of a HUGE Hail storm and the staff made a big difference in our day. Great people and great food!!
The food was very authentic, tasty and customizable. The place itself was very nice, the food came fast and the service was also good. The waitress was very friendly and also funny, also gave us the general description on what each dish offers which was super helpful because the menu did not come with pictures. However the parking is quite hard like all downtown restaurants.
Great modern atmosphere and the food is amazing. It's kinda pricey but you get what you pay for. Try the raw cheesecake!
Pizza took forever to come. Not very good service. Pizza isn t worth the wait
Easily one of Calgary's best pizzerias & Italian restaurants! I can only comment on the pizza, but give it an A+ for taste. (I can't comment on service because I ordered through skip). The sauce, dough, and cheese are delicious.
Dom, Sam, Joe and the gang are first class. Unbelievable food
The food is fantastic, and I'm happy to find some low carb options in the antipasti section. Personally I like their polpette the best.
This place is pretty good; but, it's often inconsistent.
Perfect dough, high quality ingredients, great service and relaxing atmosphere.
This pizza is a true authentic neapolitan pizza, so that means it is thin and with a subtle burn from the wood fire. The tomato sauce is balanced, not too sweet or acid. Toppings are high quality, true Italian and well distributed.
We went during the week, kind of early in the evening and it was a quiet but very pleasant experience. Decor is nice. Waitress was super friendly, polite and fast. Price is really decent for the high quality food.
Highly recommended!
I ve been going here for years with my friends and love it but last night we took five kids for a birthday party. It was a different experience for the kids, who are used to Boston Pizza, and it did not disappoint. The server we had was so awesome and went above to make them feel comfortable and make sure they got something they enjoyed. I ve always been obsessed with their pizza but the kids tried the pasta and it was incredible. The kid s sized spaghetti and meatball tasted amazing and had the biggest meatball I ve ever seen on top, which made for a very happy boy.
Thanks Pulcinella for being awesome as always.
We had the lunch special today. Extremely well priced for the portions and quality you get. Pulcinella always has fantastic food and service.
Service was amazing from the time we walked through the door to the time we left! Had the arancini, polpette, diavola pizza and for desert the saltinbocca. All very good choices! Lots of wine options, nice atmosphere and great food.
