We've been to Napoli, home of the pizza and I can tell you without a shadow of doubt this is the real deal. You wont find more authentic original style handspun flatbread pizza anywhere else without a plane ticket. And its going to be an expensive ticket to find similar, let alone better. I wish i could give it more stars...

I hadn't been here in years but recently went with a group for a Sunday lunch. My dietary restrictions were handled carefully and respectfully by our extremely friendly server. I knew my meal was 100% safe for me to eat which helped me enjoy the afternoon with ease. Everyone else in our group really enjoyed their meals as well.

Tried a pizza from here once and decided to avoid it in the future. Toppings tasted old and lifeless. I had heard such great things but was so disappointed by each bite. Was it a weird, one-time thing? Maybe, but there are numerous great pizza places in Calgary.

Good pizza but overpriced. Also, they don't cut the pizza into slices for you! When I asked, they give me a dull pizza cutter and told me to do it myself. Paying so much for a pizza, the least they can do is slice it.

Incredible atmosphere and quite decent food. We had the 3 course lunch special and sat on their beautiful patio on the second story overlooking Kensington - great place to catch up with old friends. I think if I had a glass of wine and went for dinner instead it would have been a 5.

I have only been there twice, but I left satisfied every time. The first time I went I had their margarita pizza, it was so good it had me craving it for two years!
But they don't do delivery and they are not near my house, so I don't have time to just stop and go to a restaurant.
However I finally got to go back and I had their pizza again and it was so delicious, and one is plenty for two people to share.
Their peach iced tea was a nice addition but their pizza is what brought me back.
If you have time I recommend this place.
Also their interior is quite pleasant to sit in, their decor is nice and the pictures tell their story.

Love the calzone here and what ever the wife has too. Who does not love a wood burning pizza oven? Try to drop by here once a month and have never had a bad experience. The place has a nice decor and knowledgeable and friendly staff. The only problem I ever had here was they hung up the Ducati in the stairwell. It does not deserve to be hidden away. ;) Come here.

I would liked to have tried this restaurant, but as there are no prices on their online menu, I won't be. I had to call and ask the poor girl on the phone the cost of random menu picks to get a sense of it. Please familiarize yourself with the year we are currently living in (2019, the future is now!) and don't keep your potential customers in the dark for literally no purpose.

If I could make a 0 star I would. Turning someone out to the cold while waiting for a cab because we wont purchase something ( because they are busy tonight which infact were not) Salty. Last night before lockdown and its ice cold outside.. WHERES YOUR DECENCY..honestly so very disgusting I can't even explain. The food smelt amazing but never will this restaurant get my service after that. My boyfriend and I didn't deserve the dirty looks from all the waitress and waiters either. HORRIBLE.

Over the past two years , the place seems to be getting worse. We had dinner there on September 5th 2014.

1- We placed our order (one pizza and one lasagna) by 8:15PM, food arrived at 9:10PM

2- Lasagna had very little meat in it (maybe less than 15% of volume) and pizza (Romana) had a very strong bitter taste to it

3- For the price you pay, the place is overrated for sure

4- Our server tried to make up for the food delay (positive point) by offering to buy us a desert but at that point we wanted to leave

The food is very good. But a restaurant is about the whole experience and here I don't know what's the matter with the air conditioning. It's too cold! We have like 3 days of summer and they have the temperature too low.

The food was OK but I likely won t return or recommend to a friend though. The flavours were a bit bland for me personally and I don t know, it just didn t leave me wanting more. The portion size and service was great. We had the gnocchi pasta and a pizza.

Always have a great experience here. Love the staff. The pizza is amazing (especially the diavola). The other food is also delicious, especially the gnocchi. We keep coming back because the food is always amazing and the service is great!

Great dining experience, wonderful server, beautiful atmosphere. Guys though, I get you want to be super authentic to Italy, but please just cut the pizza. Making your customers hack away at their own pizza with insufficient knives severely takes away from the dining experience. You want to be authentic until what point? And "because that's how it's served in Italy", but why? Maybe consider that not everything they did in Italy is good.

Amazing pizza and pasta! And the portions are very good size. Pair it with an amazing wine here and it's all fingerlickin' good!! One of my favs for Italian food !

The ambience is regal and you feel very welcome by staff that is very attentive to the needs of their customers.

Service is fast and customer service is very good !

Always enjoy eating here. Real food made from scratch with authentic Italian style and ingredients. Excellent wine selection and a menu that has something for everyone. We always order a variety of pizzas and share. Desert menu is a must as well!

It may be OK, but my service was so terrible, I'll never give them another chance. I waited for 1.5 hours being strung along and offered drinks only to find my order was not being made by the kitchen. The manager suggested she could remove the charge for my food, but not my drinks after deciding I didn't want to wait another 30 minutes for food.

Have come here for years and the food is always delicious and consistently awesome. Shout out to our server Rob for great recommendations and excellent service. I've had the Calzone about eleventeen times and it may have become better every time. Wine recommendations on point. If you don't line Italian food from pulcinella you probably don't have a soul.

Good place for a nicer sit down meal, good Italian food. Do NOT confuse this with the Americano Pulcinella pizza place (which is garbage quality). The pizza and insalate here were very satisfying. Service wasn't outstanding but definitely not bad enough to take away any stars. Not at the top of the list, but I'd return

Pizzas are good but not as good as real Napolitan ones. And we had much better ones at other pizza places in Canada. Moreover, it's quite expensive and not much garnished. Service was ok, not bad but just ok. Won't come again.

I am in the minority but this has happened now several times so I can't excuse it to a bad night or even a bad week. Food was luke warm, almost inedible flavor wise. For the price point not to allow any substitutions is crazy. People with allergies to seafood or swine better not go there and the staff argues with you about your order. So overall, after several tries with the same outcome each time I would have to tell folks if they want to spend $50-80 before drinks per person - find a different restaurant

The ambience and the service is fantastic, but I've found the food slightly underwhelming. The pasta was okay, but not as flavorful as I was hoping and the pizza is fantastically pricey for what you get. Still, it's a great date night spot.

Decent pizza but the place needs a serious revamp. Badly scuffed wooden floors and torn vinyl on the booths ruin the ambience a bit. Pizza itself had a good crunchy/chewy base thanks to the Neapolitan style of baking but for some inexplicable reason the Quattro Stagioni we ordered had the toppings not combined but rather split individually into four quadrants??

Excellent, traditional Neapolitan pizza and pesto linguine. The caprese salad, with authentic Italian-sourced ingredients, is delightful. Friendly service as well. Highly recommended in Kensington.

It was our first time at Pulcinella. The restaurant seemed inviting and child friendly. Ambiance was good and the restaurant was clean. The staff was nice and friendly. We were seated right a way as we had come in at a slow time. We had placed our order, the kids ordered a pizza and the adults, an appetizer, soup and pasta for our entrees. The appetizer came out relatively fast and it went downhill from there. The calamari was good but the soup was luke-warm, but not wanting to be wasteful I ate it anyways. The servers said that the pizza would be out shortly but that was not the case. The restaurant began to fill up, after our appetizers were done it was some quite sometime that we got our entrees. The other patrons who had walked in after us were getting their entrees. A couple in the corner looked like they got their pizza within 15 mins of sitting down. I had to say something because the kids were complaining about being hungry and wanting their pizza. I was watching the other guests and they seemed to have a good transition from appetizer to entrees. When the pizza finally came out it was good the kids enjoyed it. The pasta on the other hand, Pappardelle di bossca came out looking slimy and overcook, it too wasnt hot. The gnocchi was hot but I found a hair in it. When I inquired from the waitress about the food being luke-warm she said that the pasta was suppose to be room temperature. As for the wait-time, she said that she did nothing wrong that she was taught to put entree orders midway through the appetizers. The waitress didn't seem happy with the 10% tip we left either, which I thought was generous for the experience we had. This restaurant was very pricey for below average food.
