Nice store but management is not treating the Covid crisis seriously in any way! I d say stay away if you are even remotely concerned about you or your families safety. They do not sanitize carts or baskets in between use. The store lacks the necessary cleaning supplies to safely disinfect the store. Managers ask that their staff continue on with their shifts even if they find out mid shift that they have a fever. The lack of care and respect for the staff is not only is that dangerous for the staff of rising tide, it also puts out entire out entire community at risk of spreading this deadly virus among us. Street clear of you care about workers safety and rights!

This is a fantastic co-op, where members & non members can enjoy a wide variety of local (and non local) and organic foods, health & beauty products, books, cards and some craft items. There is also a hot food bar. Truly a great place to shop!

What I would like to share and inquire about is yesterday when I was @trout Brook preserve in Alna Maine, viewing the ww&f railway museum's restored bridge, I noticed that there is a nice Sandy area for sunning & wading for tots & toodlers. What I'm annoyed with is I wanted to post such when my phone inquired with Auto prompted questions, with multiple choice answers. I wanted to have this choice to give a personal detailed description, but no not how to manipulate this apparatus. Anyway trout Brook preserve in Alna has a nice little beach with shallow water near the train bridge.

Rising tide has a lot of organic foods priced above blue collar wages.

Now I'm confused again as I maybe posting for trout Brook preserve and not rising tide market.

Nice little market however because i was not part of co-op cashier was quite rude. Being a tourist village in Maine they should be used to out of town guest. Not how you should be welcomed. Others in store were the same when asked for assistance.

This place has great variety and helpful and knowledgeable and friendly staff. The food bar when it s open is high quality and their broadcast sandwich with either bacon or sausage is the best I can remember having and made with quality ingredients. The produce selection is great and the sales are also substantial. Too bad they don t have a butcher dept like the one in Belfast.

I love this Co-op for their bulk section. No better place to get herbs and spices. Or grains and flour. Beautiful local produce. Huge wine and craft beer selection. Add well as unique products not found elsewhere.
They also have a great hot bar and Cafe perfect for a quick lunch!

I love this market. They have fresh foods that you can not find anywhere else and their hot bar is divine. They carry a wide variety of vegetarian options and even have fresh bread from Borealis.

Great variety of fresh fruits and veggies, bulk dry goods, and high-end organic and specialty groceries. I wish I planned to be here in Maine long enough to become a member, but luckily non-members are welcome.

Friendly and professional staff and the best hot food bar. Diverse selection of local products, food & drink, bulk foods, produce, natural remedies, small book nook, gifts, nice area at the front end of the store to relax and enjoy your meal, tea, coffee, catch up on work. Great atmosphere. Can not say enough how friendly the people are here!

Decent selection but the most ridiculous prices I've ever seen in any Grocery Store, Co-Op or not, specifically with their local produce and foods. On more than one occasion I've had a checkout clerk laugh in disbelief at the price of something when it was rang up.

I'm not talking "more expensive than Hannaford", I'm talking 25-50% more than what you would pay for local organic produce anywhere else, Whole Foods, other Co-Ops, you name it.

Really nice co-op with decent prices, even if you're not a member. You could do all of your grocery shopping here if you wanted. They also have soups, salads, and baked goods if you want to stop in for just a quick bite to-go.

Rising Tide is a wonderful co-op, health food store, and small local grocer. Their staff is incredibly friendly (I'm from out of town), and the store is clean, welcoming (like co-ops of yesteryear), well laid out, and has everything you need (like homeopathic remedies, that were forgotten hundreds of miles away, to help with thosea Mainard bug bites). We'll definitely be back when we return to Damariscotta.

About Rising Tide Community Market

Rising Tide Community Market: A Natural Grocery Serving Midcoast Maine Since 1978

Rising Tide Co-op is a cooperatively-owned natural grocery that has been serving the Midcoast Maine community since 1978. Located in the historic village of Damariscotta, Rising Tide Community Market offers a wide range of natural and organic products, including fresh produce, bulk foods, supplements, and household items.

As a cooperative business model, Rising Tide is owned and operated by its members who share a common goal of providing healthy food options to their community. This means that every member has an equal say in how the business is run and profits are shared among members rather than going to outside investors.

One of the key features that sets Rising Tide apart from other grocery stores is their commitment to sourcing local products whenever possible. They work with over 200 local farmers and producers to bring fresh fruits and vegetables, dairy products, meats, baked goods, and more to their customers.

In addition to supporting local agriculture, Rising Tide also prioritizes sustainability in all aspects of their operations. They have implemented numerous eco-friendly practices such as using renewable energy sources like solar panels for electricity generation; composting food waste; recycling materials like cardboard boxes; reducing plastic packaging; offering reusable bags for purchase or loaning out free-of-charge at checkout counters.

Rising Tide also offers educational programs on topics related to health and wellness such as cooking classes featuring locally-sourced ingredients or workshops on herbal medicine. These programs are designed not only for adults but also for children through partnerships with local schools.

Another unique aspect of Rising Tide's business model is their commitment to social justice issues. They prioritize fair labor practices by paying employees living wages with benefits like health insurance coverage while also advocating for policies that support workers' rights beyond just within their own store walls.

Overall, Rising Tide Community Market stands out as a leader in providing healthy food options while prioritizing sustainability efforts both locally sourced ingredients as well as eco-friendly practices throughout all aspects of operations - from sourcing products down through education programming offered onsite!
