Though not the most impressive museum in the world, it still has things that will leave you in awe. The large Buddah statue is always a highlight and I do love the student exhibits as well. The way it's setup is a lot of fun, like a big maze in the middle of the city. And for Providence, this is by far the biggest art collection you are going to find. I do wish there was more Indigenous art, as RI is Narragansett tribe land. But alas, perhaps they will add more. For now, it's a lovely place for a day date or to wander around solo. One of my favorite places to wander & think out life decisions -- and I'm so happy it's open again after being closed for over a year to the public!

Incredible art in so many different forms. They have multimedia, painting, textiles, furniture, sculptures, and everything in between. My sister and I were amazed at the wide selection and some of the art they had on display. We enjoyed our trip here and spent almost 2 hours and couldn't see everything before they closed. Allot a good amount of time of you want to look at everything!

Fantastic art museum in the heart of Providence, the RISD Museum has a wide variety of art including paintings, sculptures, jewelry, furniture, porcelain tableware, and more. There is a small courtyard in the middle of the museum, a very nice place to get some fresh air and sit for a while (weather permitting). Tickets aren t too expensive, and admission is free on Sundays. I spent about 2 hours here on their first day open since covid, and I only got through half of the museum, if that. You could easily spend the better part of a day here if you really appreciate art.

Not a big museum but full of surprises. They have a couple of French impressionist paintings from the masters like Monet and Cezanne. Also check out their Egyptian display. I try to visit this museum whenever I'm in Providence.

An absolute must when visiting Providence. RISD offers an eclectic range of art and furniture. I especially enjoyed the Raid the Icebox exhibit, absolutely fascinating and thought provoking.
