My daughter has had several classes at this location. Every time the room has been great for the size. The building is in a great location. We can easily park the car just off of the Lincoln Tunnel and walk the block to get here.

We were visiting for an audition.

They have very beautiful plants and very old plants all through out the studious. Very large space and almost maze like. I m attaching my favorite plants photos. I wonder who takes care of them and how old they are. Very well done!

The interior is kind of tacky.

The lobby was a little hectic! There were multiple young people kind of aggressively asking if you were going to a Disney something - and I was not. Funny, eventually we all ended up at the same place... :) so that was rather disorienting. That s why four stars Here s a sword. ()xxx[]:::::::::::::::::>

There s a very small cafe/food/atm which was fine and helpful because you could spend some time in the hallway waiting.

Ripley-Grier Studios are my go-to studio choice when I have a client that needs product photography of all kinds. They have locations all over the city, making it highly accessible. Each location has a many rooms of varying sizes. Whether you need a small space for table top shooting or a larger space for on model shoots, you can find what you need here.

The rooms are affordable and some even have dressing rooms and showers for the models. They can provide, sound systems, tables and chairs and also have free WiFi.

It's a great choice when you want an affordable space to shoot in.

My favorite rehearsal studios in the city. The feel is very homey and welcoming, and I always feel good and calm when working or auditioning there. On the more expensive side for rehearsal space, but well worth the price.

I took free great courses, then began using this location to host workshops soon after. They also have numbers great opportunities, given they house numerous auditions for a variety of projects/productions.

I take my voice lesson here every week, its a really great place to come get a practice room and practice singing before my singing lessons, too. There are also a lot of auditions and stuff here.

The staff is very friendly and accommodating and they keep the place running very smoothly and keep me happy when I m here. There s also a cafe where you can sit and enjoy a cup of coffee, a sandwich, or another food item they have pre-made for you. They even have vegan and gluten free food. I like to grab a sandwich after my lesson.

You can also hear some very good singers here when you are wondering around the halls. It seems like a lot of Broadway people but also classical and pop you can hear in the halls. A really fun part of New York. Sometimes I bring out of town guests here to experience it is how cool and unusual it is.

WiFi is very strong and reliable to.

I hate writing bad reviews but after my experiences here over the last couple months I feel I should. I am giving two stars because the studios are clean and well kept. However, their booking staff consistently makes mistakes when I request a specific room booking via telephone. I would estimate 30% of the time when I call, they accidentally book the wrong space and I have to call AGAIN and ask them to correct their mistake. In addition to this waste of time, I have shown up more than once and been given the wrong room (which costs usually between $10-15 more per hour) and been told it was my problem for not double checking the email confirmation in advance. Once I was even booked by mistake for a musical rehearsal in room without any piano or keyboard.
I'm a pretty relaxed person, I understand that they are running a massive business and I would have overlooked most of this if not for the fact that the front of house staff recently told me it was MY FAULT I had the wrong room because I didn't double check the reservation email. I did not repeatedly mistakenly book the wrong space, it is not MY JOB to repeatedly have to call back and correct booking mistakes. This is not professionalism, or the way to run a company. Repeated inefficiency and lack of good customer relations. I see many others have had positive experiences, but I can't say the same. I"m switching studios and I encourage others who are looking for a regular long term place to rehearse to check their reservations carefully, don't count on the staff to enter the information accurately.

Ripley-Grier Studios are the best in town and possibly the best in the country. The studios are very clean and organized. It's staff members are very professional, knowledgeable and helpful. I always have good experiences wherever I rehearse my plays there.

LOVE Ripley Grier! They are my first call cause they are super professional, accommodating, super sweet and nice, and really after all these like 3 years of using them, have never done anything that made me less than totally satisfied. All the studios will make booking errors from time to time - some make a lot of errors. If RG makes one - which happens extreeeemely seldom (1x in the literally 1325+ hrs I ve booked with them), they set you up in a nicer room for the same price and work with you until you like em even more than you did before. This place is ridiculous. I admire the skills of the ppl who run this business. To give you an idea of how much I book, I usually book between 9-12 hrs per week times 42 weeks per year times 3 years and they are consistently amazing and have excellent customer service. The owners are sweet as can be, too. There are other places to book in the city but the ones I ve tried can t compete w RG as far as reliability, professionalism, customer service, organization, and general awesomeness & kindness of the staff. This is not a normal 5* review. This is one of the best businesses I ve ever dealt with.

I never ever write reviews but I had to write one this time on this incident. I m rating with a 2 specifically because the studios are nice for rehearsal time. However, I ve been charged twice from unauthorized transactions on my account due to their booking staff constantly getting confused with individuals who seem to have the same name on file. For a studio that seems to be very popular in the city, they really need to do better with their security protecting their customers information and take extra precautions when verifying who s on the line if they are a previous customer. As a result, I don t think I will booking studio time here on my behalf due to this highly annoying inconvenience that only puts a hinder on me. I will highly advise you all to be sure that your account information on file is secured and protected before you become a victim as well.

This was the worst experience I have had booking a rental space ANYWHERE. Spoke to the "manager" who had a surprisingly horrible attitude when discussing the availability of a large room with me.
I rent out studio space all over the city, and this was the first AND LAST time I contact Ripley Grier.

Customer service is disgusting from the side of management, and I can assure that I will NEVER AGAIN look into renting a room at Ripley Grier PLUS I will make sure not to recommended this place to anyone again.

I've booked with Ripley Grier in the past. Previously, it was a very easy process, no complaints with the room, pricing, booking process, etc. Overall great studios, would otherwise give 5 stars.

My customer service rep today was very snippy and condescending from the start. Context: I decided to book same day for a recording session in an affordable room and had a flexible schedule for the day.

My first question was about the possibility of booking an affordable room with up to three hours availability. I was told that I had to give a time frame because he "wasn't going to check the whole system for me." So I say afternoon, and am quoted a room that is reasonably priced, though because I'm a repeat customer I know there are cheaper rooms. I mention this and am told that a room that price isn't available until 8 PM. The rep goes on to pick apart my logic for wanting a small room because it won't work for my recording needs. This is totally unnecessary since it didn't fit my time preferences anyway. In the end, I confirm a booking for the room with a slightly higher price point, and as a final remark the rep tells me that my booking is non-refundable. Instead of coming across as a courtesy reminder, however, it sounds like a strongly-worded warning. I was also never asked if I had a preference with a particular location.

Keep in mind this phone call lasted less than 5 minutes from start to finish, automated messages and hold time included. I haven't held him hostage with ridiculous requests or unnecessary details and have certainly not excessively wasted his time. Tone and attitude matters with your customers.

Probably my favorite rehearsal space in the city. The building is always crawling with creative activity and the staff is extremely helpful! I wish some of the rooms were better air conditioned but that is asking for a lot in an older NYC building.

When in rehearsals for the last North American tour of "Fiddler on the Roof," we were lucky to be having them here. This is one of the finest studios I've ever had the pleasure to have used. If you get the chance to work here don't pass it by. The staff are amazing, and the owner (who's a former GI as I am) is a great guy.

This is my go to studio in Manhattan. I am almost always able to get the spaces at want at the times I want. I primarily use the 10th floor of the 8th Ave space, so my review is limited to that location. The spaces are clean. There's a great cafe and a voice over studio. The staff are always friendly and willing to help you resolve any issue. I have never been dissapointed here and recommend this place highly.

One of the best rental rehearsal space whether you're an actor, dancer, singer etc. I've booked here a few times, and each time it's been Hassel free. Staff is cool and informative, but they are a little pricey with some of the rooms. It's nice that they are in a convenient location and that the cafe is there on the 16th floor. The 17th and 10th floor are a little bit more on the quiet side as to the 16th floor where there is allot of foot traffic and overall noise.

Best run dance space in New York City. excellent customer service, well labeled rooms, CLEAN, had a cafe and vending machines, multiple bathrooms, people work at the desk and are friendly.

Theh have 2 buildings check your address and room number twice!

Cons: no good for driving, you won't find parking but hello, welcome to NYC! One of the buildings (the even numbered one) has security which requires checking in with id. This isn't a con except if you are running late, it takes time.to get upstairs during peek hours- be prepared.
