Rideau Carleton Raceway Review

Went on a Tuesday for the 2 for 1 . We waited in line at the Rewards desk for 45 minutes to get a " coupon" they also give me a rock star card that apparently had 20$ on it . Beef ribs tough some dishes barely warm, lamb stew very good .Waitress Terri very polite and provided great service. The Rock star reward card never worked when I put it in the machine it read " card invalid " I went to the cashier in the casino she " fixed " it however still didn't work. If the buffet is 2 for 1 why do people have to get a coupon, and a fake card stand in line and waste time. Only 2 tellers working at prime dinner hour

Service was terrible in the buffet. Waited 45 minutes just to pay our 115$ bill. Not worth it.

Completely updated and they are adding the Hard Rock Cafe which is pretty cool. Had the seafood buffet in their restaurant and it was absolutely amazing. Best seafood I've had in a long time. Also won some money!

Friendlier atmosphere than their competition, and new renovations all the time, so, a more exciting experience, every time you walk in the door! I wish there was direct Transpo service, but if you have a car, valet parking is complimentary. Soft drinks are also free to players, but they're not self-serve: just catch the eye of one of the wait-staff for personal service!

Comment modify it have finished the transition from the two kinds of coupon much more interesting

Went for Father's Day brunch. Mediocre food, nothing to write home about and definitely over priced at $25 per person.

still waiting for the 'elevated experience' they brag about. tired of hearing the expression of 'growing pains' at my expense.....could they not do renos at off hours? moving live bands upstairs bad move....need more entertainment and bars on main level.....customers should not be impacted as they have been for the last several years..........HOPELESS

Casino has been updated and looks great. The restaurant has also been updated but didn't meet my expectations seeing as this is going to be a Hard Rock. Also, betting on the horse races was difficult over dinner as you had to go to the desk each time. As I remember it before, they had people come around to take your bets.

It's clean the buffet is great and watching the horses is fantastic

Since Hard Rock took over lots of changes. The new layout makes it a lot more open.

Lots of modern slots here. Packed with people even during the day. Great place to go have fun and get a bite to eat.

In fairness they have the gambling area looking pretty good. I take my wife for the slots. She likes them. we go late afternoon and evening. I used to love the buffet. Great food and good price. Neither anymore. Price is way too high for the now barely adequate offering. Salads are now VERY poor. Choices of stuff to add to your salad very diminished from a few years ago. Should fire the meat carvers who manage to make good cuts beef tough by carving incorrectly. I have printer paper that I think is thicker than the slices of roast. Still tough even that thin. I do realize they try to save money but should not be a problem with what they charge. Desserts fairly good and wait staff for most part are friendly but sometimes inattentive. We usually tip very good even at buffets but our last trip was one of about 6 times in my life we did not leave anything and I am 70. They do have a very good looking snack area out in the gambling room and prices there are not too bad. Dies not help me as do not eat wheat but that is not their fault.

Recently was there for a birthday dinner on Race Night, which is always a fun time. Dinning hall has been renovated nicely and the food is typical for a general buffet.

Noisy and packed with geriatric people. Don't go here looking for a date if you're younger than 50.

Nice restaurant for breakfast and more .. Service is great .. Washroom are clean . . some renovation in progress .. Lots off casino machine .. Parking is free and lots of space ..

We lost over $1300.00 tonight!! Can't seem to win at this Casino even when playing the MAX amount on the slot machines Not paying out ever since new ownership of Hard Rock??? Depressing to say the least! Better odds at the Hull Casino!!!

The Sunday brunch never disappoints us. The food and the service is awesome as always.

We enjoyed the Sunday night prime rib and seafood buffet along with the horse races. We could see the track from our dining table as well as place bets during supper. The food was delicious. After supper we went outside to sit at a picnic table and continued to watch the races and bet. An enjoyable way to spend a warm summer evening!

This is and uful place I don't recommend to any very we went and we finish to eat and no waitress comes to bring anything not even water and I went to talk to the manager and didn't apologize or do something about the food is not good was cold

FAMILIES BEWARE! - they no longer do family dining. We used to love going to the buffet for breakfast or dinner but we were informed they they have removed this as of Jan 1, 2020.
Seems to be All In on the poker but it s a bust for families.
I was told that they no longer allow children on the premises so I guess that is going to send family night at the races out to pasture.

Place is kinda sad... Gananoque OLG is much better atmosphere and alot less sad... dont know how but it is

I am I think a good customer and me and my wife go there to play at least twice a week.
Tonight we thought we could spend some good time but unfortunately the music was so loud and the sound so bad we left. I dont think the majority of the people there tonight enjoyed such lousy music. If the speakers were of better quality maybe it would not sound so bad.
I went to customer service and the answer I got was "its going to stay that way" quoted by a Manager.
Too bad I think from now on we might stay home you dont seem to care about pleasing the people all you want is money . Too bad the food is great and service too but that kind of answer coming from one of my managers he would be looking for a job.

Too far from the city. You have to drive like 20+ min in the middle of nowhere.

Rideau Carleton is a good place to unwind. The dining area needs some renovation work for a change.

I went their to have break my drive from Alfred, Ontario. The place overly crowded with game tables and gaming machines, very hard to find any facilities or navigate the narrow walkways between tables and machines.
Dealers are freindly although expect to wait for payment every time; as they wait for a supervisor to confirm every move of chips.

Once you are ready to cash your winnings; expect lots of questions as to where where you playing, and a confirmation from the floor.
I spent about 2 hours there and never once had I seen any beverages served or offered.

Miserable service, and unlike anything welcoming to say the least.

Worst casino ever go there are the biggest thieves sold to Americans they take Canadians for fish

My second time there and my last, it's nothing but an expensive arcade with slow service and again an irritating band that tortures music and my eardrums.bye bye going to spend my money at a REAL casino ....I'm off to gatineau

Great buffet. Excellent servers. Really enjoyed ourselves.

The buffet was worse than it was before the price hike and we were charged an extra 2 dollars each. When I asked what the 2 dollar charge was for, I was told there was a 2 dollar charge if you didn't order a drink,(coffee, tea or anything else.) We will never go back ever. Bad service , bad food and bad extra charges mean bad Recommendations!

Was fun only one thing the regester card that they use, kept showing an invalid card when inserted, just frustrating . I think dirty card readers . Please fix . I won $53. Be responsible. Have fun .Thks.

With the start of the transformation to Hard Rock we have noticed many improvements, including new slot machines, new gaming tables and new bars. The food and atmosphere have both improved. Can't wait for the full transformation

It was ok, I don't know why I was not too impressed. I went in the past and I liked it more. it was missing something a special touch. there was a good variety of food but too busy, the serving area is small for the amount of seating. I tried to go get desert 3 times and was a long line up I did not even get the chance to have desert. But I would say still go try it.

In renovation! Few interesting slot machines during renovations! To be continued.....

The food at the buffet was "edible", at best. I was surprised to see, with the food poisoning warnings in the media recently, that the salad was primarily romaine lettuce! The selection was minimal. The seating was crowded with the back of my chair unavoidably rubbing against the back of the chair of the person behind me.
As far as the casino, possibly it was just an unlucky day for my group but left me wondering if the odds have been raised in Hard Knocks (Rocks) favor since they took ownership.

Renovations far from complete, too many really old machines and large number of machines not functioning. Once everything is complete, it will be very nice, but never up to Las Vegas standards. It's nice to play for awhile and win a bit along the way. A pleasant place to spend some of our entertainment dollars.

Not worth going when the machines never pay out. Haven t won anything at this place since Hard Rock took over. I would go elsewhere
