I had been in this emergency room, regular floor, (which I know was super busy but didn't believe I knew what I was talking about. I couldn't get out of bed to use the restroom. By the time they got to me, I told them that I was leaking into the bed and told me no it was fine....I made them check and SURPRISINGLY, they had to change my sheets and give me soap and water to give myself a bath!! Lol), and I was in the seizure monitoring unit, 5 times, 3 for testing and 2 after surgeries. I had wonderful Doctors, nurses and assistants!!
To all the people that complain about the ER slowness, #1 the patients are taken care of in levels of need, #2 you don't get food until they make sure that you CAN get it without it making you have a bigger issue and #3 some days there are more patients than they can keep up with at the level people who are in to be seen, not understaffed, there is a difference. If you don't understand it, think about going to the bank, grocery store, etc., and having to wait in line.....same idea of what you are dealing with. No matter how many people who are in working, they can only see so many people at once. Be patient and they will take care of you with the same amount of respect and one on one as they did with those before you!!!
