My mother was admitted to the Emergency Center yes...

My mother was admitted to the Emergency Center yesterday about 2:30 pm with a broken back. I arrived at 3:30 to see her and find out extent of injuries.

Upon entering facility, security tells me to stand at the unattended window to find out what bed to go to. After several minutes (not cool), a woman starts to come in laughing it up with a co-worker and tells me, "Just a minute." and disappears again. With the line building behind me, she came out a minute or so later and sat down and gave me the bed # so I could go in. NOT COOL in an ER! But this set the stage.

My mother needed an MRI to find out if she needed surgery - during which time she was in extreme pain and couldn't eat, or worse, drink anything in case she needed to have surgery.

We didn't get the MRI until 6:30 pm, came back about 7:30 and were told the results would take another hour. After two hours, I asked the night nurse for the results. She snottily told me it had only been 45 minutes.

Another hour goes by, I ask her again. She gives me a cold non-answer, "a doctor will be in to see you". A total of three hours later (Mom still can't eat or drink), a doctor finally comes in to inform us of no surgery. Yay - she can eat and drink - got her water. Asked for crackers -- snot nurse said she couldn't find any crackers. Ridiculous. And a lie.

The atmosphere there at night is more like a party than a hospital. Very entitled , self-absorbed mentality. They don't like their social time to be interrupted with patient needs.

I give 2 stars rather than 1 simply because I believe that they can provide good surgical solutions. But, it's managed very poorly.
