This place is absolutely garbage the basketball is mediocre, the staff is disrespectful and a drop in is 20$. How are you supposed to keep people off the streets. They need new management or something because this is just outrageous. I hope things change

Amazing facility with so many activity options and well-maintained equipment, all under one membership fee. Staff are all incredibly warm and welcoming. Was paying more money at Steve Nash for poorer service and disgusting facilities (Cambie). Would highly recommend the ROO for anybody looking for more than just a gym.

Awful customer service from staff; Digital lockers did not work despite getting help from staff and ended up wasting 20 minutes finding a key locker on the first floor. Nice facility but terrible experience due to rude staff on our visit.

Great facility but poorly organized. I joined to use the indoor track. Each time I've used it there was other equipment such as soccar nets or basketball nets being used and blocking the track. There were even people playing volleyball right on the track at the same time that there were 2 empty volleyball courts.

Been a member for years, specifically for the fitness facility. Sadly they do not cater to athletes, ironic how the facility was made for the greatest games in the world...the olympics yet outside of hosting big events when it comes to supporting local athletes through the fitness facility very very very poor choices are made on equipment.

Recently the kettle-bells were picked to be replaced (horrible decision) as the weight numbers could not be seen on them (keep in mind they rarely and I mean rarely get any use)...so they ordered bright new colourful ones...I am not lying when I say literally 5 days later the paint was completely chipped off multiple faces of each kettle bell making them look at least 2-3 years old and leaving the same problem. Simple solution to the perfectly fine ones before would be to print out a 1inch x 4inch label with the weight number on it and tape it to the kettle-bells.....instead they approximately wasted $700+......absolutely horrible decision.

Need to completely reevaluate which equipment gets used and which doesn't. For example there is only 2 bench presses which are probably in use of a total of 6 hours + a day and yet they have no plans of adding another while they have useless machines that just sit around. I understand small portion of new people who don't know what they are doing tend to move around from these machines, but when they are so ineffective and do not improve movement patterns why are we wasting so much money and space on them, instead of getting more useful proven equipment allowing serious lifters to prosper and new gym goers to learn the basics of movement through weight training/aerobic training instead of sitting around on useless expensive machines that fill the entire length of the gym.

Like the other reviews say. Nice facility. Poor customer relations. Customer relation doesn't seem like an issue until it costs you time and money, again and again to resolve simple issues. Couldn't even pick-up a 10-day pass they offered me as consolation (twice). What a joke.

Laziest Zamboni drivers ever. They say they will drive around the nets and not do a portion of the ice if the public doesn t move them for them. They have 2 of them. If you want the nets done, get out on time, others help you guys out; but it s your job to clean the ice.

This place used to be good when it first opened it's door. Now, the gym is getting more packed, especially in busy hours when I really have to workout. Nowadays, even in the early morning hours are busy as well.

The equipment is in general good.

The staffs are friendly but one of the manager girl is trying to catch people trying to sneak in and that actually annoys many people who have membership card already. I overheard she insisting on some guys who forgot their cards and it seems like she has checked their membership already but still did not want to let them in. Maybe she let them in later but I am pretty sure they have been offended.

A facility run by an incompetent management. Does not communicate with members, lies regarding its policies, and has declined consistently in the past few years. Please spend your money on a facility that deserves it and not one that is riding on the coattails of its Olympic legacy.

It is a standout legacy of the 2010 Winter Olympics. It is a shame that they gave up the long track speed skating oval because even with the multi-use configuration, it is still underutilized, but with little to set it apart other than having multiple activities under one roof.

There's a little bit of everything at the Olympic Oval. I came for batting cages and was pretty happy with the facilities. There was a bit of waiting time with lots of people on site, which made it less than ideal for practice.

Great place for various indoor sports. I kind of miss our long track rink it would've been cool to preserve it like Calgary did but I guess it's much more useful and economically feasible to use the space as a multi sports arena.

Why does this place have to be soo expensive. I only want to use the gym room and nothing else....Oval should create a program that will only grant you access to the fitness area for a cheaper cost..

Love working out at the oval so much! It is a great place to become motivated and passionate about being healthy. The staff are also really friendly. The only downside is when wanting to bring a friend, you have to request a pass 2 days in advance which can often be a nuisance.. if you forget to do this, there is no leniency and they will not let you bring a guest in on the spot.

Parking is $1 per hour. Lots of activities offered. Free for visitors to walk and roam around the facility. Amazing art pieces outside with a waterfront plaza, and outdoor volleyball and table tennis. Facility offers multi-sports including skating, hockey, bolleyball, badminton, track, fitness centre, drop-in classes, rock climbing, and more! There is Yyoga, Lifemark, and a doctor clinic downstairs.

Signed a year membership here strictly for basketball. Courts and hoops are good. But it gets crazy packed weekday evenings and weekend afternoons (15-30ppl per court). I've changed my gym time to early morning weekends and early afternoon weekdays. I usually get friends to drop in but the drop in prices are so expensive .... which they just raised this month to $20. My biggest complaint is the Drive Basketball coaches. When clearing a courts for the Drive Kids Program...the coaches will demand the court without being polite. Example- "Hey, I need the court, okay". I am happy to go to another court yet I don't appreciate the rudeness from the Drive Coaches. Sadly, I will not be renewing my membership when time is up.

Paid the drop in fee but there's only a full court available with 20 people waiting on the side.
Drop in fee and parking is very expensive, will not go to oval unless there's no basketball court available anywhere in Richmond.

Nice facility tho, but very poor customer relation.
Unpleasant experience

Very beautiful gym. It is amazing to see how many activities are going at the same time. This place is huge! I saw volley courts, basketball courts, rock climbing wall, ice hockey, ping pong, workout equipments, yoga classes, cycling and rowing room. 4 stars on the cafe and gift shop. The cafe's scone and muffin are dried and plain. The turkey sandwich is tasty. 3 stars on the bathroom. 5 stars on the gym.

Stack 'em pack' em and rack 'em...... 10 kids share a 15ft linear piece of ice to learn skating. Instructors are sub par and rather play vs teach. Private lesson (1kid) takes up a quarter of the entire ice. Won't be coming back here.

I phoned customer service trying to cancel my kid Pro D Day schedule on Oct 23rd and was advised to send email to camp@richmondoval.ca. Until this review posted, unfortunately, I haven't received any response whatsoever and highly unlikely will receive refund. At the very least, please show professional courtesy by sending email response. Very disappointing for international class sport facility.

started out to be good 6-7 years ago but the quality just went nosedive these past 2 years. fitness room is always crowded like T&T market on a Saturday afternoon. Basketball courts are always rented out to events and leagues. Members and drop-ins just jam themselves into 2-3 courts like sardines. Not going to continue my membership for sure

Usage exaggerated in their video. The simulations were lame and got boring really quickly. 2 of the actual simulations were out of order. The only one worth using was the racing one. My family and I were only there for thirty minutes, 10 was waiting, 15 was walking around, and 5 was actually using the few simulations that worked.

Appearance is superb-sports center-
Modern equipment, comprehensive sports ground, ideal place for men, women, and children to play sports. The beautiful scenery outside, the water, the lake, the lush greenery and the modern design special buildings will make you feel the beauty of the modern architectural design.
The whole building + appearance structure is a beautiful view that will make you enchanted. If you don't come here, you will definitely lose it.

Everyone who likes sports should visit the Olympic Oval.

There's a short movie showing how hard it is to become an athlete and succeed (lots of training, falls, start over and over again). It's difficult to watch it without tears coming to your eyes.

There's also an interesting simulator where you can drive" a bobsled (great!) and another where you can "jump" from a ski platform (not so great).

It's a very nice place to visit, specially if you are into sports.

Nice staff, plenty of parking and a gift store.

Also, Olympic medals from previous competitions all over the world are on display.

This review is of the Oval as a tourist destination, and not based on any of the businesses within.

There is lots to discover here; the outdoors has many places to sit and watch the water (or airplanes flying overhead, as it is near the airport), the architecture is magnificent, and there are lots of stories being told by the surrounding artwork.

There are free, outdoor places to play beach volleyball, chess, ping pong, and others, and a beautiful garden.

There is a dog fountain outside of the parkade that was not functioning during my visit.
