I know that if I buy my next home, I will DEFINITELY skip this notary. Never before have I been treated so badly and had to run after all the facts myself. I really pay a notary a lot of money and in the end simple administrative matters cannot be arranged and I have to do this myself. It is that this was the 'project notary', but I also indicated to the estate agent that I advise against using this notary.
1) After the transaction date was firmly agreed and passed on to the notary, no message, while the letter stated that they will contact them two weeks in advance. Didn't happen, had to call here myself.
2) Called, no apologies but "I just had to understand that we are in Corona time" in a tone that no one would like. You can just send a bulk email to all your customers that there may be a delay - if you can't, you clearly don't have your IT affairs in order.
3) Time agreed, then another time is passed on to the broker. Broker calls me to confirm, checks it and apparently this case did not know anymore at that time.
4) You may not submit the conclusion too far in advance. Normally a notary checks in advance whether the money has been transferred, but now the morning itself (!!) called "did you transfer the amount". Not even a reminder or check a few days in advance.
5) Not very warm and friendly at the office itself. The lady who worked there and 'received' us said nothing and had a look of "what are you doing here" after which I said myself that I had an appointment ... "sit down"
6) The same lady had to sign on behalf of the seller and mortgage lender. Not a friendly look (or word) could come from it and she sat there with a long face, staring straight ahead.
7) The notary herself was okay, but I have experienced warmer, friendlier and more extensive explanations of what exactly you draw.
8) Apparently one page was not signed. This was sent by mail, without communication or anything. A month later I picked up the mail from my old address and found out that I still had to sign and send something. No call, no email, no reminder, nothing.
Has the mortgage and delivery deed been delivered? Yes, of course, but I don't expect anything less. You pay notaries a lot of money for these transactions and I really think you can expect a friendlier approach and correct handling.
