This place is gorgeous. Right near Lompoc beach. Misty in the mornings, sunny during the day. This is a fantastic place for the wild horses to roam free.

My experience dealing with Neda DeMayo-Return to Freedom has been nothing but OUTSTANDING. Besides the day to day REAL WORK that She and her colleagues DO, their organization has always been expeditious when responding to my MANY questions. Also, I would like to add a recent interaction with the Return to Freedom Organization...THIS BEING MY PERSONAL TAXES!! I was in the midst of gathering ALL DONATION information, and had misplaced my RTF donation receipts. I emailed RTF, and THE SAME DAY, I RECEIVED A COMPLETE BREAKDOWN OF EVERY DONATION I HAD GIVEN TO THEM, DATES INCLUDED! I can't even get THAT from MY LOCAL Wild Horse groups! So, my REVIEW? I give NEDA AND HER 'STAFF' A FIVE STAR RATING!! AND THIS INCLUDES THEIR MEDIATION BETWEEN PUBLIC AND POLITICIANS!! i hope to ONE DAY-VISIT the SANCTUARY!!! Until then...THANKS GUYS! Keep up the EXCELLENT WORK!

Neda De Mayo has created one of the most comprehensive horse sanctuary's in the West. I can't speak highly enough of her efforts here. Neda decided long ago the imprint she is making for this magnificent being; The American Wild Horse. In an open land Return To Freedom is a vestige to the place that was once covering the West. Thank you for creating a home for the horse and myself...to connect, love, and be free.

Absolutely gorgeous place and absolutely gorgeous people doing gorgeous things for the preservation of several lineages of wild horses & animals in need. I highly recommend a visit.

Beautiful sanctuary. The horses are well taken care of and just gorgeous. We got to go within the herd, and the horses got so curious and came right up to us! It was a magical experience to be crowded by these majestic animals.

A very cool place! The work of the people there is very nice! I got to know the horse that inspired the cartoon "Spirit".

It is amazing to hear about what they are doing for these majestic creatures. The tour was awesome, but if you aren't able to come do a tour, please find other ways you can help them by going to their website.

They have the best education programs for becoming advocates for the American Wild Horses to retain their right to Freedom on thr land designated for their protection.

Educational. It was amazing to simply watch the horses and learn more about them.

The photography workshop with Tony Stromberg was phenomenal. Tops.

Such a fantastic place! A great cause, and the horses and herds are totally amazing. The wildflowers and the green grasses up to their knees is amazing in the spring!

I had to go to Lompoc to pick something up and since I have lived in So. California all my 72 years but have never been to Lompoc my husband and I decided to make it a two day adventure. I looked online to see what there was to do there and found the Return to Freedom American Wild Horse Sanctuary. I called and made a reservation for a tour. Just driving there was wonderful beautiful scenery.

When we got there we were greeted by Kelsey and shown a short DVD about the Sanctuary. A great, interesting, informative introduction. Then we were taken to see the horses. I am not really a horse person. I've been on a horse three times in my life and was scared stiff each time. No one was more surprised than I was when I found I loved being surrounded by these magnificent creatures and enjoyed petting them. We even got to see the famous Spirit. My finicky husband was having the time of his life.

I wish I had known about the Wild Horse Sanctuary a long time ago. I will recommend a trip there to everyone I know. And I can't wait to go back again!

What an incredible place! Beautiful, authentic wild horse sanctuary where hundreds of mustangs run wild and free with hills, trees, and streams to roam. People there are very friendly, caring, and well informed about America's wild horses. Tours are given. Great non-profit charity to donate to. (They adopted 120+ at-risk mustangs during an emergency wild horse placement mission I led, and those lucky horses are now in their happy haven at RTF.)

It was so beautiful, I would love to rebt a cottage over night to wake up to nature

Fantastic cause, to rescue complete mustang herds, and find them new land to roam! As one would expect, great people too. Please support them if you can.

Great place to get in tune with nature and especially wild horse conservation.
