We have been going to the Sinclair Restaurant in the Hotel Saint-Sulpice for several years. Their beautiful outdoor courtyard in the back is one of our favorite dining spots in Montreal. One of my city's hidden gems.

Nice place to go for brunch on week ends, calm and cozy. The kind of ambience you can only dream of by watching Euro movies; greatly accommodating staff working well together, nice price, perfect for weddings and business reunions. Definitely in my book for best of Montreal for ambiance.

Oskar Restaurant (formerly Sinclair) is Old Montreal's best kept secret. 25 meters from Rue St-Paul Ouest in Old Montreal. people don't tend to walk by and when they do, they mainly see the doors of the St-Sulpice hotel. However, the restaurant has a very nice terrace, the staff are very welcoming and courteous, and the food is excellent. I strongly recommend it. Great place for lunch.

The service was very fast and courteous, except after the coffee or we felt abandoned.

We liked foie gras, but I found that duck breast and rum baba could have been more popular in terms of taste. At the level of the agreement with the wine, I was not impressed. We could come back for foie gras.

The atmosphere, the music and the lighting is good.

Increadinly slow. We waited for 2 hours for our brunch. Wait staff inattentive and not appolagetic for the wait until the very end food was mediocre at best.
Thumbs down.
Wait staff just had to let us know what was going on-kitchen staff fiasco no doubt. People were flocking out-pissed, by the time we finished. 100% fail & on Christmas day.
Aldo, pass on any crab cake sinario.

The one star or lower ratings appear to emanate from breakfast, brunch and lunch clientele. I attended a supper function and must say the experience was divine. We had a fixed menu and I thought perhaps it was specially prepared for us however after referring to the restaurant's regular menu, I realize that everything that was served may be ordered from the menu.
The fact that the meal was accompanied by privately imported wine + commentary from the vineyard owner Mister Riccardo Ricci Curbastro and an SAQ representative may have embellished the experience.
Nonetheless, the food was deliciously served and spot on. The gnocchis were exceptionally light and flavourful. Tuna tataki divine as well. All Quebec cheeses amazing... as usual.
Waiters were attentive and prompt. Trying to find the flaws after reading the other comments... just don't see it. Good work.

We had the best brunch at Sinclair. My family came in from Europe and they loved it. Delectable eggs Benedict on crab cake, homemade lox and bagel chips. After we had the duck parmentier and the fish. All delicious.

The food ordinary...fad even...and for the price..very disappointing. Our dessert was dry and un editable and when the server stated that we would obtain a discount for the quality...they still tried to charge us when we received our bill.

Nice terrace but I went twice in a group and twice the service was much too slow (15 min. For a drink!), Not very professional and chaotic (2 times reconfirmation by 3 different emplyes then no good bottle ordered!) And the Spritz aperol is not good and in a too narrow glass. Continuous improvement?!?

A nice place to hold parties, wedding receptions, the service is efficient, the waitresses do a good job and always show class, the waiters, meanwhile, are not invasive and attentive.

The bar is nice, the wine cellar interesting, ready to the cathedral and the royal place, affordable and pleasant, respects the scales without being overpriced.

The gravlax is gourmet, and the epic slider burger. I have good memories of this place.

While we were reviewing some fairly harsh reviews of this restaurant on Open Tapble and Google, we hesitated ... We finally decided to give it a try, and we were not disappointed. First of all, the parking facilitated by the valet parking of the Hotel St-Sulpice is in itself a good reason to go there because you will save precious time finding a parking lot and getting there. The terrace is very pleasant and is enclosed in the hotel. The staff is very friendly. The Evening Table has few choices but we ate really well, at a price quite adequate given the general experience. The foie gras au torchon was really well presented and delicious. Definitely a terrace to know and a place to try. Much better than the average of 3.3 on Google. Special thanks to Josh for the friendly and personalized service.

The only problem, the questionable decoration inside the hotel, strewn with a painting by an artist who surely has entrances with the management .... Really?

Excellent modern French cuisine with distinguished service in a contemporary hotel decor. Great value yet intimate. Only minus was not all dishes came warm to the table on a slow Sunday night.

Breakfast: fruit was dry, stale, toast did not come with jam butter, dinner: terrible service, it was a quiet weekday night we were one of two customers. Waited 10mins to be spotted to be greeted and seated. Food was not bad frankly but ruined by the waitress untidiness and wait staff lack of care which made it almost seemed cheap. Cutlery also not replaced between courses. Waitress intentionally removed our used cutlery from plate and placed on table. Even saw manager walking around with a dirty mop. Did not enjoy and will not return. Hotel was really good but this restaurant really adds a negative tone

Went for breakfast and was disappointed. Ordered the Canadian breakfast. The bacon was very soft. Beans were dry and barely edible. Asked for eggs sunny side up and runny and I got over medium and broken. Waitress offered to send the eggs back but I was too hungry to wait. My friend's omelet looked nice and she had no complaints. Very good cappuccino. $41.59 after tax and tip for 2 mediocre breakfasts and 2 excellent cappuccinos. How does that sound?

I attended the Christmas dinner and not only was the menu uninspiring but service was by far the worst ever. It took over 30 minutes after cocktails had been ordered for staff to realize we never were given menues, another 30 before I finally stopped someone to request they take our orders, one of the main course had to be returned as it was simply disgusting and again I had to hunt the staff as they never bothered to check and see if everything was alright. 2 and 1/2 hours and I had to get up and go ask the owner for my bill. He was informed of our poor experience but couldn't be bothered a basic apology. Descent local, but other than that, giant thumbs down.

Charming restaurant in beautiful hotel. Excellent service but pricey a la carte menu. $38 for meat dish at lunch? Appetizers and desserts extra? Should at least offer a table d'hote option. Not too crazy about the deconstructed key lime pie either!

Went for lunch recently and it was awful. There weren t many people (around 10) but the service was slow. We work in the area and it took 2 hours. I had sent a message to the restaurant the day before asking for a vegan plate. They said no problem. Upon arrival, the waiter didn t know what that means and suggested a dish with pesto. He then said that he would check with the kitchen and when he returned, he said I would get a vegan meal without being able to say what it would be. I received 6 spring rolls with a soy sauce dip. On my bill it indicated tuna plate and I was charged $19. For spring rolls! I mentioned to the waiter that it is ludicrous that I was charged the same price as for the tuna plate. He shrugged and said that s the price. The rest of my group got poke bowls and were not satisfied either. However they did say the dessert was good (no vegan option for me) but we found out that the desserts aren t made on site.

Overall a terrible experience and a rip off.

It is clear that each aspect of this restaurant is well thought out - the location in the middle of Old Montreal, the elegant yet fun decor, and especially the menu! The plating was to die for and each course was made with scrumptious fresh ingredients: I had the salmon gravlax infused with maple and juniper followed by grain fed chicken with vegetable tagliatelle. I can't believe how well-prepared everything was; right down to my aperol spritz! I will definitely be going back to enjoy the food and drinks on their lush garden terrace.

Not impressed at all. Service very slow. Staff not trained on menu. Not worth the money they charge. Meat insultingly overdone. Menu choices too eclectic and requires some staples for the less exploratory.

Stopped at the Sinclair for cocktails while enjoying Beautiful old Montreal. It was relaxed, comfortable and a great place to be able to hold a conversation versus some of the louder bars on Rue St. Paul. The bartender Ariel was excellent, she took the time to say hello and made some great cocktails. She made her famous "Winter Gin" which was the best drink I ever had. Highly recommend stopping by a drink. There are great food choices available as well.
