Restaurant Le Geuleton Review

Menu is good and the restaurant is nice, but the service has just gotten worse and worse. It is so inefficient and slow, even when the restaurant is not busy at all. We've been a few times and last time was the last, they totally forgot our order, serving 3 tables who arrived after us before (we were just a couple). When we enquired we were snapped at that it was on its way, and it took some more time. I don't like to give negative reviews but that really ruined it for us.

Drinks are good value for Dublin City centre, not a huge selection of whiskeys but enjoyed it none the less, food looked very good but didn't get the chance to try it!

Great food as always, if I had one issue it was that Steak is taking over the menu. But it is good steak

One word : Exquisite! Went there for a birthday celebration, everything was perfect, the ambiance, the location, the food, the service, the staff, the wine ! I highly recommend any dish with meat, French fries are very tasty. They have snails, which I love. They also do onion tart and onion soup, genuinely French

Nice bar staff, the security guards on the other hand; because a friend and I did not have beer within reach for a while, we were kicked out. Disgusting! I will never come here again!

Went at around 9pm Friday evening.

Started with fresh oysters and the rib eye for main. SO had beef cheeks. Pretty darn good.

Most of the food was actually really delicious, beef cheeks themselves weren't all that, but everything else top notch.

Not really a French bistro. Very busy with loud music, but the food is worth it.

Minor things; the cocktails were a little disappointing. Vodka martini was a bit weak, whiskey sour was nice. Also, service was a shade on the slow side, but as it was a busy Friday night that can be forgiven.

If you're in the area and looking for something decent go for it.

I must admit to not having visited here in years, so was pleasantly surprised to see a new decor and updated menu though I have no idea how long it has been like this. Our waiter was really friendly, helped out with a small request or two to the kitchen, and was very attentive with wine and water. The food itself was as good as I remember, really delicious. The seating also provided a good bit of space between tables which is always welcome. All in all this was a really lovely meal out.

I always enjoy L Gueuleton, it always has a great buzz about it and it s authentic interior always makes me wanna redecorate my house and expose brick everywhere! Food is truly French (read: full of butter and fat) and you wouldn t want it any other way.

The place was nice but Is not my best type of food. The variety was not big but my peers really liked. Service was kind of slow.

Cannot believe I have not been here before. Good meal, had a table of 12 and service was good and food was tasty.

Had snails to start which were only OK, felt that they were a little overdone unfortunately.

Hake for the main was tasty but surprisingly small portion (probably only 150g) which was a shame.

Didn't have dessert, was told the creme brule was excellent but the accompanying wine disappointing.

Friendly place with a high stand food and service, without being too formal. I would recommend to book the table few days before.

Just an awful culinary experience ... Old/gone chicken, gambas as hard as the wood table we ate on, bread/fries dropping oil ... I could keep on... but I think that s enough ... only positive, service is correct.

Absolutely loved it. Might have been some of the best chicken wings I have ever had in my life and we eat a lot of em in Canada. Would go back here in a heartbeat. Great food good atmosphere good pints.

One of worst experience in hospitality that I have ever seen in my life. Just stop for cup of coffee and nighter have I received a coffee that I have ordered, nighter was staff polite, just avoid!

a mouse in the jacks tried to sell me tickets to bingo loco. i must say he did have a lovely waistcoat on. he said it's from Debenhams, raging i didnt get a picture though. little pinstripe yoke

Great place to eat and drink. The bar next to the restaurant is a great place to spend the afternoon with friends. Music is always brilliant!

French food, very tasty options, good wine, lovely rustic decor. Price wise, the same as all restaurants in town: not cheap but good value for the quality if the food you get. They don't take bookings so pop in to leave your name and then go in one of the many bars nearby for an aperitivo. They wil ring you wgen your table is ready.

The worst french food in the world. Onion soup has an absolute anonymous taste, very hot, no onions inside, poor cheese. Mean dishes better forgot. ... terrific beef. No beers choice. Only expensive wines. The bill impossible I hope no people goes to eat in this terrible restaurant

A nice French bistro style restaurant with good food and wine. Connected to the No Name bar which has a nice weekend brunch.

I went for a brunch with my friend. The restaurant does not accept reservations so you just have to show up and hope there is a free table. Nonetheless, the food was very good, and the service attentive. We had sausages, chicken liver pate, and creme caramel. All very good.

Great place, try to get a seat in the garden if the weather is warm. Recommend the beetroot and goats cheese carpaccio.

The food was good if a bit overpriced. Service was good and friendly but as it was a Tuesday the restaurant was only quarter full so they were not under pressure. HOWEVER, check your bill as we were overcharged twice and just received the corrected bill as if it were no problem at all.

I want to like this place, but it's not been able to convince me. I've been here several times for brunch, but the dishes I've had (Wild mushroom toastie, eggs Benedict and steak sandwich) aren't bad, but not very special either. It's all a bit too boring. Service is OK, but nothing special, the same counts for the interior and atmosphere. It's like this socially awkward colleague who's too friendly to really dislike. But it's impossible to love him either.

We ate very well, and the service was great. We were nice leaving our place to the next customers, we were moved to the bar to finish our meal. We are a little disappointed to have been forgotten after our gesture, we did not ask for much. Not very professional it's a shame!

Well a restaurant that you go to twice in three days must be good. Two lunch trips allowed me sample five of the excellent starters. Very accommodating on both occasions excellent service and good value for the superb quality food.

Food was decent alright. However, the service was terrible, they mixed up our order and didn t even try to apologize at least. They forgot to bring water, we were 4 and for 20 minutes they only had 3 forks on the table.

Actually can't get over the lack of customer service we received. I had heard great reviews about this place and so decided to book after looking at the menu online. When we got there they handed us a completely different menu which is no biggie. The only vegetarian option was either mushrooms on toast (roughly 15) or baked eggs. I am not a fussy vegetarian but mushrooms on toast is like something someone would eat approaching pay day after Christmas. I asked could I order something off their menu on the website as the pancakes looked delish on that menu. I was told no and the waiter whipped the menu's back out of our hands. We awkwardly left. Would not recommend this place to any vegetarian/ vegan or meat eaters who like good, friendly or pleasant service

Our family of three went to celebrate our daughter's birthday at this restaurant. Everything was going great,the food was delicious.After we finished our main,we of course wanted to order some dessert.When we asked the lady with the black hair rudly responded saying:she does not think we can get dessert anymore,but if we do want to get one we have to move to a different table as a group of 20 people waiting to be seated.????So we decided to leave.

Fantastic food, really friendly and helpful staff. Oysters were fabulous as was the fish main and really loved the tarte tatin. Waiter gave a wine recommendation which was perfect and not too pricey which we really appreciated. Overall had a really great experience here.

Best outdoor place to eat , i will be back again soon to try more things from menu , well done to make happy people in this crazy times

One of the best brunch I've ever had! We found the place by chance, but couldn't be happier with our choise. Each plate for brunch is about 13-14 , which is pricy, but very much worth it!

The Cafe de Paris sauce was to die for, highly recommend!

Delicious food, lovely atmosphere, great people watching on the pavement seating outside, and dancing after dinner at the weekend. Lots of fun to be had!

A very good dinner last night at (by Dublin standards anyway these days ) reasonable prices including the old school wine list. Generous portions / service good.

Place ok but to avoid with kids. Nothing on the menu for them. Staff was not very helpful. We ended up giving chips to the child.
