Great breakfast too!

We met our niece for coffee and breakfast at this place. We weren't expecting such great food! We had eggs, bacon, toast, biscuits & gravy, & potatoes. The potatoes were cut into small cubes, browned perfectly, and had special seasoning.

It had a great vibe and was tastefully decorated. A hidden surprise!

A bit pricey, but they have a nice wide range of alcohol choices and some damn good food. The Southern Fried Chicken will definetely make you want another plate.

They did have a weird issue in being out of 4 of the 6 drink choices we made; without any knowledge beforehand. Odd - but easily corrected with a round of new picks. Laid back and very comfortable decour and furniture. Tons of places to sit and relax. Also wifi!

I stumbled upon this place a few months ago and it s now one of my favorite coffee shops in Dallas. The coffee is amazing and the service outstanding. The nitro cold brew is my favorite here.

FINALLY, a great local place for good coffee AND food. I really enjoyed the coffee. I can't wait to try the Nitro cold brew. It's so hard to find nitro in DFW. Food: I've only tried the parm, saugsage & egg biscuit, and it was delicious. I destroyed the biscuit a little before taking the picture because I couldn't wait to try it. On top of the good food and coffee, the atmosphere is top notch. It's beautifully done. Can't wait to come back with the fam!

Cool little hidden gem of a coffee shop in Richardson. It used to be part of their restaurant but was recently renovated to be its own place. It adjoins their restaurant, co-working space, and one-chair barber shop. The coffee is good and they have a nice patio out front. I didn't try the WiFi. It makes you fill out a short form with your contact info. The co-working space appears to have its own WiFi as well.

Really cool spot. You don't need to be using the business space to frequent the coffee shop/restaurant side. Met a friend for coffee and we enjoyed the atmosphere, service, and drinks. In front of the building is currently under construction, but they're open!

We live in the area and having a spot like this so close and local is fantastic. We want unique spots in our neighborhood to support and frequent.
We have been twice now and both times we have had some of the worst service we have ever experienced in a restaurant setting.
Both times the ticket times for our meals have been lengthy due to the smallish kitchen but mostly due to the inept service.
Twice my wife has asked for pastries, twice she was told the daily options, twice she had to ask multiple times as to where the pastry order was to only twice be told that there were no pastries. Twice she made her order based upon the pastry order and twice she wasnt able to receive correct information let alone the order.
Today she order a latte. After 20 minutes, I went to the coffee bar and asked if the latte was ready only to be told that there was no order for the latte. We asked the server only to watch him go to the POS and add the item to the order.
Once we received our food, the subsequent service was poor and stand offish from a server. That was enough for us. We stood and left.
We want to like the establishment. We love the lay out and the food is great. A smallish kitchen with long ticket time is okay and understandable, however constant ignorance to the menu and how to be a server is not.
We have tried twice and had the exact same poor quality service, so we see no reason to return, which is a shame.

Held a nice teen birthday get together. Staff was so kind!

This is a great small place to meet up for a quick meeting or catch up with a friend.

Loved the cold brew on tap. And that Monte Cristo sandwich was amazing.

Fantastic coffee and great atmosphere! The restaurant next-door is also absolutely delicious. Great breakfast and brunch options.

Latte was good but Luke warm and more expensive than Starbucks.

I have always been a fan of Communion Neighborhood Coffee. Unfortunately, they don't care for the safety of their customers. I went to grab an iced coffee on Sunday, May 17 and noticed that none of the staff was wearing a mask. I even looked across at the restaurant and no one was wearing one either. It's unfortunate that such a respected coffee shop does not care for the well being of their customers during a pandemic. Unfortunately, I will not be going back.

Cool place and good coffee, but pretty pricey and my Gmail doesnt work on their wifi

I tried the Mac and cheese with ham last night and I must say it was really good. It was creamy but not overly cheesy and thick. Nice toasted crumbs on top made it just prefect. I tried the wagyu meatballs. They have a great flavor but the gravy is too much if you don't have someone to share it with. They have iced tea but no sweet tea so you'll have to sweeten it to your liking. On both visits I found the staff friendly. I could overhear the staff discussing the cheese they were taste testing and excited about a new beer they were putting on the menu made me feel they were dedicated to their menu. I'm not sure I would go out of my way to eat here since I live in Plano but if I'm in the area and wanted some Mac and cheese I would go here. Very nice chill atmosphere.

Really happy Communion came to our area. Unique concept for Richardson (we need more like this) with so much to offer in an awesome space. Dinner was awesome and we can not wait to get back to try more.

Great people. Great service. Great food. Went for a 8AM drink after a nightshift. They have space to rent for office use. Nice hidden place. Would go again and again.

This place is really good. Great customer service and the food is awesome. The whole concept was much needed in Richardson. My first time there I was asked for my name when ordering coffee to go. 2 weeks later the same guy remembered who I was and my order! Top notch!!! Keep up the good work

Ordered a chai tea at this place. It tasted a little bit different than normal.

Pretty sure I was given dairy milk in my coffee, which makes me very ill. Otherwise, a pretty cool little place.

Attended a vegan festival here and the vegan food and items are so out of this world expensive. No way will a plant based lifestyle catch on if its unaffordable. Wake up people. It is a big ripp off

Love spending time at Communion Coffee & Eats.
Great for groups, a date, or grabbing some coffee. Flash brew, cappuccino, or a nitro cold brew is the way to go! Not to mention they have a great food selection, full bar, and a covered patio.

Over priced and the coffee is bitter, not smooth like a quality dark roast should be. The staff is very friendly and helpfull which raises my rating from 1 to 3 stars. After response from owner I have to tell you at 5+ bucks for a 20 oz. black coffee (that was bitter and over roasted) , I'll guarantee I'll never be back.

Very expensive for average coffees and teas. Portion sizes are also not listed and some house coffees cost upwards of 2$ for a sip of coffee.

Loved the atmosphere. Great place to drop in for a bite to eat, grab coffee, and work.

This salad was huge and that's a good thing. Filled with fresh, crispy lettuce and topped with tomatoes, beans, corn, cheese and chicken and a scoop of guacamole and sour cream. This taco salad didn't need much work because the chicken was seasoned very well. Instead of using salad dressing, I topped mines with their salsa, which was refreshing and spicy simultaneously.

A small space. Expect a line of 6-12 people during the mornings. The coffee cake is recommended. The espresso was very well made. A good bean and it seemed like a lighter roast if that is what you prefer.

Very cool atmosphere, staff is nice,food is fresh!

Good coffee but, didn t feel welcomed. I went to study and sat at a bar stool so I wouldn t take up much room. But, seemed as if I wasn t welcomed. I just ordered coffee and planned on working for a while then ordering dinner. I stayed there maybe an hour and left because I felt like the baristas where annoyed that I was there working. One barista brought out my check after 20 minutes with a look like order food or leave. Maybe it s not the type of place to work on stuff at. Probably won t go back.

This is a great place to meet people. Coffee is good and space allows for you to have good conversations with people

Coffee was lukewarm, monte christo was cold inside, and the service was meh. Protein breakfast was alright. I wouldn't drive back up here just to eat though

Diversified and refined craft coffee, bar, food... without spending an arm and a leg.

It was a good experience! I likely won't go back because it was a little expensive for coffee and lattes, but the coffee was good, the barista was very pleasant, and the place was clean. Thank you for a fun time studying!

Had an awesome time at Communion! We held the training for our upcoming church launch for Chase Oaks - Richardson. The space was amazing and accommodated a full catered lunch and 8 breakout groups with ease!!! Very well furnished and aesthetically appealing! Thank you for your hospitality!

This is the new hip spot in town for coffee and drinks. Killer beverages, fun environment, lots of seating. Great for hanging out, meetings, or getting stuff done.

Perfect place to work remotely. Good food, coffee, WiFi. It s a nice alternative to a bar or Starbucks. Was a great place in a pinch when my home WiFi went out and I needed to work. They re building some cool stuff around it it looks like as well.

Stopped here for a quick boost. Everyone was really cool. The drinks were great and the weather was perfect for enjoying our drinks on a patio bench.

Finally! A great coffee shop, workspace, restaurant and more! Communion does a lot, and so far it s doing it all really well! Everything is very high quality, but the prices are a bit on the high side for food and coffee. The shared workspace is great, with plenty of options.

They used a cup that fell on the floor. Won t be returning.

This is a beautiful place, and the event that we attended here was great. The interiors look amazing, and there are super duper photogenic spots here. Loved it.

Customer service was great, but I was missing the wow factor, or their signature coffee... or something to make them stand out, or give me a reason not to go a cross the street to Starbucks for cheaper coffee with a larger variety to choose from.

These people have one of the best coffees in Dallas and their food is awesome and only keeps getting better each time I go back! The staff is caring and will go above and beyond to serve to your needs (shoutout to Ben)! The vibe is great and the co-working space is worth it too!

Food good, but need to get a little more organized. They were out of a lot of things and weren't on the ball when we asked for things. Forgot to bring cinnamon for my wife until asked 3 times. Forgot butter and jam twice. Waiter was nice, but seemed disorganized.

Pretty decent coffee, no light roasts though. The space is fantastic.

The most horrible customer service with the most rude waitress ever. Came to have a nice brunch with friends but did not feel welcome and our waitress was rude, also food took forever to come out without an explanation until we asked and the waitress said she would not recommend coming for brunch on Sunday or to wait till later. Not a pleasant experience. The food was good and so was the nitro cold brew.

It's not just coffee, the food is amazing... breakfast or dinner. Coffee or cocktails. They've got it all! Annie is the best bartender and barista combination, hit her up for old fashions or test her coffee knowledge. #fabulous

Good coffee, overpriced coffee!! Don t think it s worth it but the place looks nice to have a meeting.

Was trying it out as an alternative to Sbux... The couldn't care less about being there that night and even less about making my $4.80 cup of mostly foam. I actually ended up throwing the coffee away and driving across the street to Sbux at least their disdain for the customer is predictable and consistent.

Extremely rude people. Also, their coffee shop timings are erratic.

Easily the best coffee shop in Richardson and surrounding area. There workers, coffee, and atmosphere never let you down. Thankful for this place!

UPDATE for Restaurant: Returned and loved our food! Ambiance is really different (quieter, less staff) but these are challenging times. The Distillery next door was bustling with live music so we were able to hear the music but sit in a more peaceful environment. Highly rec the Nashville hot chicken sandwich - crispy spicy sweet chicken and great slaw and fries.

Old review: Lovely ambiance and staff in both the restaurant and cafe. We have had breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the restaurant and cafe and food and drinks have not disappointed.

Tips:
- Do not order restaurant food from cafe. I think they are still working out communication between the cafe and restaurant. Our food was incorrect and delayed and we noticed the same happening to others in the cafe.
- Cafe can get a bit chilly so bring your jacket.

Food recs: biscuits and gravy, crabcakes, and the red beans and rice that comes with the fried chicken is so yummy

Fantastic Eggs Benedict. The Brunch Burger was amazing, good enough to rival Knife! Amazing seating as well, they have the most comfortable chairs I've ever say in at any restaurant. It's a comfortable and chill atmosphere and definitely worth a repeat visit.
