Restaurant Communion Review

Pretty sure I was given dairy milk in my coffee, which makes me very ill. Otherwise, a pretty cool little place.

They got the cafe thing right! No oat milk though for hot lattes, I recommend that.

Came across this spot on Google maps. It was fantastic. Enjoyed my burger, beers, and just chatting with one of the investors. Talked with some friends and we will definitely make this a spot on Fridays. A great liquor selection and decently priced. Will make this a destination.

This place was pretty cool. It's exactly what it's titled, a neighborhood cooperative. It's interesting because there are three different parts of what looks like could be one building with three different entry ways; coffee shop, restaurant, and the community room. They're considered separate entities but work as one to create an experience. This is the first I've encountered something like this, you can pay for a membership to access the community room.
I went to the coffee shop to get some work done. Everyone was really nice, it was nice and clean with great lighting. The coffee shop was a on the smaller side. Not sure if pricing for a membership, I heard it s on the expensive side. Really cool concept though !

Kind of pricey menu, the food is always amazing. Coffee bean selection for purchase is good. Coffee and tea is good. Service is good. Food portions are small. Full bar.

My son and I take this place off of Google maps and went to try it out. Definitely hey high quality experience. The server, whose name was Abigail, was extremely informant with all of those questions I had. Maybe she thoughtI was a little crazy because I have so many questions about the french fries :-). Also the Barista came to our table and talked through the coffees that were available. I chose a extremely delicious homemade cherry pie and an Americano made with a single origin Ethiopian espresso. Mmmmmm!!!!

Sadly it is a weird place where they say they have table service but you order at the counter. They bring you a coffee but have nothing at the table to fix up the coffee if you want cream or sugar. So...yeah.

I wasn't aware of their new covid hours so I pulled in RIGHT as they were closing. Luckily the barista on duty was SUPER sweet and told me since she'd just started breaking down she would go ahead and take my order. Coffee of course was delicious, but the service was divine. Thank you, Mary Grace for being so accommodating! This will be our new regular coffe joint! (Disclaimer: I am not advocating anyone try to be served after close, as a service industry worker, I know that really sucks. )

Communion is a nice local spot in Richardson. The vibe is relaxed, eclectic, friendly, and the grub is tasty.

I wish that I could leave 5 stars, the food is so delicious and the place is so cute but the service is just incredibly slow. There were only about 2 other tables and it took forever to take our order and we never got one of the items we ordered. We will definitely come back and give it another shot!

We came back to give it another shot and the service was MUCH better! Maybe last time was an off day but I m happy to update to 5 stars. :)

Great atmosphere. I like that they have almond milk for my coffee.

Great coffee and food. I stopped by looking for a quick bite to eat and needed caffeine and was really pleased with the quality of the cooffee. The chicken sandwich was amazing.

A chill place to relax after a crazy days of work.... Hip atmosphere... Friendly staff... What else u want!!!

I go here on my breaks just for the coffee. Delicious! Their pour overs or the nitro cold brew can t be beat. Sorry starbucks, you don t compare.

Each month I attend the DFWSEM meeting at Communion Neighborhood Cooperative. The meeting area is spacious and comfortable. They provide delicious and hors d'oeuvres and even have a full bar which usually includes coffees and teas.

The only downside of the venue is the construction - booth inside and out. The parking lot is small and in need of repair to begin with, but with part of it blocked off for the construction, parking is more challenging. The updates to the building will be great when they're finished, but last night each time the ac turned on paint fumes filled the air.

I'll be glad when all the renovations are complete.

Studying here was one of the best experiences in terms of concentration, cleanliness, and staff. Day pass is a little pricey at $25 with limited hours until 5:30. You get so much work done that it is worth it. You can order from the cafe and have it delivered to you while working. Sound proof meeting rooms available. The whole concept is beautiful with big windows, lots of sunlight and fresh air. Removed one star because pf price and the fact that I had so many flies around me. All in all, highly recommended!!

One of the best places to have a meeting and enjoy fine high-quality coffee, wonderful adult beverages and great tasting food. The staff are knowledgeable, friendly and there to serve. Our city has lacked a wonderful place to gather and this space and concept fills that void. I will be a regular here.

Amazing experience. We tried their version of a flat white, and a Chi Tea....Both were out of this world. The decor gives one the sense of home to a small degree. Comfortable, safe and relaxed. I highly recommend:)

I went to the coffee shop. High quality coffee. I would have had another cup, but they only give you 1 hr on the free WiFi. So I left and went to Starbucks across the street for my second cup. Minus 1 for annoying WiFi. It's too bad as I would have liked to make it part of my routine and spend more time as it is a great space.

Pretty nice small inclusive cafe. The staff was learning the menu items good food choices, but not inexpensive.

Richardson has great hole-in-the-wall cafes and shops, and I randomly ran across this place. Building used to be an old post office, and from
Passing by - you would not expect that there is a coffee spot/restaurant here. It s definitely a hidden gem. The vibe here is fantastic, and most importantly the coffee is damn good. There is a restaurant and co-working space right next door by the same name. If you re looking for a great drink- check out their dirty chai, and definitely don t order it to go. Sit and enjoy this space because the dark color scheme with natural woods and greenery makes for a really great experience!

This is a delightful place that's a little hidden off of the beaten bath but worth the find. It's beautiful inside and the staff is very friendly and wonderful. We had the pleasure of meeting Neal and Hannah. The food is delicious, try the biscuits, they're great. They have whole wheat pancakes that I look forward to trying There's a very large porch area for outside seating and a bus converted into a play area for children. You will enjoy your visit here.

Waited an hour for breakfast food. The food was OK but Its unacceptable in the city of Richardson with so many good food options. Won t be back.

two days ago was our first time we went to this place. But It is definitely not the last. We had great time with the attentive service, with the fine food and fine drinks and with the comfortable charge. We will definitely visit there soon.

My daughter and I enjoyed a couple of velvety smooth lavender lattes at Communion recently. This local gem is warm and inviting with plenty of comfortable outdoor and cozy indoor seating options. They have several food items available if you're hungry and a cute walk up window for togos. The staff is charming and eager to serve. We will soon return to this trendy coffee shop for more deliciousness!

High Quality coffee! Great to work remotely from this coffee shop or to chat with some friends at the outdoor patio!

Great Friendly Service, coffee has great Flavor and they have Oat Milk Option for which they use a good brand of Oat Milk not a cheap one.

Staff needs more training. Forgot utensils. Nobody knew lunch hours and it took forever to ask. Mimosas not so good. Runny eggs without asking. Food was good.

Restaurant: cannot speak to its current performance, but unlikely to try it based on prior experiences.

Laid back atmosphere with good comfort food and really good service. Went there for brunch. The brunch menu was well rounded with both vegetarian and meat dishes.

Communion is hands down the coolest place on earth. Literally cooler than Starbucks.

Best coffee offerings in North Dallas. Wish they brought in more coffee from outside of Texas tho. Also know it's run like a restaurant which is very different than a coffee shop. Personally I find the table service to order espresso is frustrating... But not a deal breaker

Great coffee, fun environment, good food. The setup is in three parts: a coffee shop, a co-working space, and a restaurant/bar. Kane is a great server and they have a good variety of drinks given the small space. Highly recommend!

Wow, these guys are extremely knowledgeable! Very impressed with their knowledge of different roasts, preparations of them, and overall how friendly they are.

My wife and I enjoyed the atmosphere and would highly recommend this place. A true gem in the area

The place was pretty good the atmosphere was really nice and the coffee was really good. Would've been 5 stars except my meal was just ok. I ordered the chicken and biscuits and the chicken was on the verge of being burnt. Only downfall.

My colleague and I met here to use the co-working space for two days - we are both remote workers and came in from out of town. The chairs were comfortable, plenty of outlets and tables. We used the private phone booths a couple times to make phone calls throughout the day. The people were very nice. We were able to order from the cafe next door - everything we ordered was great - especially the sweet potato fries! Relaxing atmosphere and plenty of natural light. The space was not loud and everyone is respectful with their noise level. We will be back!

Went for a church launch party - really enjoyed the atmosphere! Definitely has a modern Dallas feel. I hope to come back for coffee on a weekday.

Food is well made, but not exactly memorable. Menu is a little on the boring side. Service is also pretty slow. It has potential for a higher rating, but after 3 visits at three different times and trying different dishes, I'm just not wowed. I feel like they could do so much better if they put a little more passion into what they do..

I loved Communion! The food is fantastic and the service was friendly and prompt. Their burger is out of this world! Such a neat space to hang out in. Will be back next time I m in Dallas!

If I can give negative stars I would, it was my first time to visit their coffee shop and saw two of the employees not wearing their mask and talking to one of the customer near the register not maintaining six feet either. If the management ever read my post I want to ask them if they really care about this community and do they truly value their customers well being.

Went here for the first time today. I had Migas and my friend had the breakfast tacos. We both had lavender lattes. Literally the best latte I ve had, and the food was delicious, along with excellent service. Can t wait to go back!!

Fun environment. They cycle through coffees, so try the cultivar coffee because that's my personal fav!

Good coffee, good atmosphere, great staff. No power outlets near tables. Also the "Unlimited Wifi" is quite limited. The Free Wifi is heavily blocked (Twitter, Facebook, Slack, Spotify, etc.) There's a second Free wifi that's doesn't block as much content, but is limited to an hour of use. The staff offered to put in a password for me once the hour is up, but I really hate to go through that trouble. So, great place for a cup of coffee with a friend, but not conducive for sitting down to write, work, or study for more than an hour.

They have great service and have built and wonderful staff and environment. They have a great selection of fresh food and refreshments. I will definitely be hosting meetings or event planning at this establishment as well in the future. Definitely a must "go to" spot and is a new favorite.

Atmosphere is great but coffee and wifi are not. I needed to get some work done so I needed wifi but their WiFi didn't allow me to check my Gmail or Facebook or Dropbox. Kinda defeats the purpose.

I loved this place at first with its neighborhood friendly location and staff, and local menu with great coffee. It seems to change every two or three months over the last year, however. The experience is always different and a little confusing and staff seems overwhelmed and unable to serve efficiently. Great food and coffee, but not the easy, comfortable experience I had come to expect.

Want a cool workspace? With a coffee shop that serves anything you can get at Starbucks? And a restaurant/bar that serves fantastic food and drinks? And schedules live music events? You'll want to check this place out.

My company ordered takeout lunch, everyone enjoyed their food. I personally ordered the Nashville chicken without coleslaw, it was very good a little spicy but I like spicy. The order was ready when they promised and still hot when we returned back to the office. We asked for one of the burgers without the bacon onion jam, it was still on the burger but she stated she s glad it was made in error because it was surprisingly good to her.
