Beautiful place to sit and have an amazing dinner. Waiters are very kind and the food is delicious. I would definitely recommend the fruit the mer (warm) dish! It's a very big portion and it tasted very good! The oysters plate was great as well! I would love to come here again! Recommend it!

Excellent food. Enjoyed eating here several times with my partner. Slightly trendy and romantic but not over done. Prices are a bit on the hefty side, but as long as the quality is maintained that is acceptable. Simonis is already a regional term for fish, but the steak is not inferior in taste.
Super delicious food while super expensive. The atmosphere is very nice since many people come and the place has an outdoor area next to the harbor. We enjoyed the food alot and I do really recommend it
Fish is excellent and very fresh and our waiter was wonderful. I would prefer not to have some much mayo in my starter, but I guess this is something Dutch. Cleanliness can be improved.
3 stars because the service was poor. Half the case inside was empty. But we could not sit there !!!! Weird. We were put outside on the terrace where you melted away under the heaters and where there was no sign of any atmosphere, the seats were bad and we almost sat on our table next to it on our lap so tight it was. Service and the people at the reception desk very arrogant and up to date. At the checkout like a dog begging for tip. Meh.
Pricey food, I immediately drop in with less fun at home. There are only positive things left: great staff, nice view, good food and a nice atmosphere.
Very tasty food, the sushi this time. It is definitely not cheap and you pay in particular for the name / ambiance. Because you don't have to do it for the amount of pieces (8 pieces) of sushi. Regarding the quality, I certainly have nothing to note it is fresh and of good quality. So if you want to eat ns chic and you have enough on your bill, this is definitely recommended.
Decadent feeding barn. Oysters, lobster, caviar, king crab, etc in combination with cocktails, gin tonics and a long list of champagnes and wines.
All at very reasonable prices and generous portions. Atmosphere is hip and the music is well tuned to let many people eat in a small space without bothering each other too much,
See and be seen. Good quality food and drink.
Personally, I think it's missing some class, and staff have no idea what they serve for both food and drink. They admit without hesitation that they never eat or drink it themselves. The hostess / manager makes up for this.
We ate various fish specialties that were of good quality, not special or high culinary, but simply well prepared and large portions. We also ordered the tournedos with foie gras, this was a disappointment. Both the tournedos and the foie gras were below average but might have been expected for the price it was offered.
At Simonis, the optimal choice is to choose something from the sea on the menu;) Quality is usually good. Large portions from the chip shop. It can be quite crowdy. Price / quality ok
Seems a staple choice if you like to munch on anything (Dutch) from the sea. Good service and quality yet you need deep pockets as usual in Holland (unless you go off the beaten track and know your insiders)
For my girlfriend's birthday we went here to be pampered. Reception was pleasant and we were neatly guided to our table.
Table experience was horrible! Started peacefully, was addressed nicely and got to see the map. Until we had asked 2 questions about the wine, the atmosphere had changed. No more interest in us at all because I think we spend too little? It certainly felt that way to us. The table next to us clearly spent more with a bottle and probably more expensive dishes. He immediately got all his attention and kindness. And we? He looked back every now and then, but was not very happy with us. Very curtly not friendly at all and even rude. After dinner immediately asked for the bill and left.
I can be brief about the food. It was, of course, back to standard and good! Just a pity about that case otherwise we would have had a really nice evening at Catch.
I don't give 5 stars that fast, but Catch's food just deserves it! The chef's sushi roll (Tuna) was super tasty !! Main course I had GrietFilet and we had Kingrab as a side-dish .. Delicious! The brownie with cherry ice cream concluded the whole perfectly.
The only downside was that there was only 1 type of beer ... Well 15 types of whiskey and 80 types of wine ?! Clearly a point for improvement.
Never again. Despite having booked a table in this restaurant (without specifying that we wanted to be seated indoors, that goes without saying the cold outside ..) we were placed outside on the terrace, all the other tables had a terrace heating except ours! We asked later to be installed inside But the waiter told us that all the tables were taken and that we would have to wait at the bar for an indefinite period and offered us no other solution for the evening. Leaving the mistress advised us to insist a little more next time, to have a descent table except that there will be more next time!
I have been to Catch several times and I think it is slowly going downhill. I usually order the king crab as an appetizer and it is still excellent. However, the fruit de mer platter is becoming a big and expensive disappointment, which is a shame because there aren't many places in the Netherlands where you can order it.
The plateau was made very thin this time. The North Sea crab was missing and the whelks were also absent this time. There were some lean langoustines that could not be peeled and fell apart. Possibly cooked too long. There was, as always, a generous amount of crayfish and by definition these fairly tasteless creatures do NOT belong to the fruits de mer. They are, after all, freshwater crayfish. Apparently Catch has decided to undress the panel and that is a pity. It is an art error to bring down previously shown quality.
With a good platter you don't need any sauces, except preferably home-made mayonnaise. The whiskey sauce that came with it had little taste, and it is not rocket science to make a tasteful whiskey sauce. With the pretensions of Catch, that should really succeed.
In short, I am disappointed, all the more because Catch probably doesn't care much what I think of their plateaus, so I estimate that they will not go back to the level of the past. A pity, a pity, and those who love fruits de mer and crustaces will certainly agree that there is little better than a nicely made up and fresh platter.
I would also like to point out that I have often been on the Breton and Normandy coasts since childhood and therefore really know what this dish should look like and taste like.
A roommate ordered tuna that she wanted lightly fried. However, she received a thoroughly cooked and therefore dry tuna steak on a generous bed of a kind of spagehetti Bolognese. That too was not so bad.
Anyway, the king crab, good oysters and a bottle of Meursault makes up for it again, but of course this is not the intention.
I loved coming here. Until today. The students (?) Who serve are not exactly friendly. They are hustled together, busy with each other and their phone and not with their customers. The wines are outrageously expensive. Price in store x 2.5. Wines that cost 45 euros per bottle cost 9 euros per glass, unless 1 wine costs 10 euros for a glass. Explanation: the other restaurants in the area sell this wine more expensive by the bottle, so we sell the bottle "cheaper", but the wine by the glass more expensive. Bizarre explanation. Food is thrown on the table. Cucumber salad doesn't look fresh, etc.
Value for money is very bad. The food is ok but not very tasty a particularly good, the service is good but the view on the port is just ok. We took the dish with soles (25 ) and the burrata salad (17 ), a bottle of water of 75cl (7.50euros) and 2 glasses of orange juice - from bottle so not fresh (6 each). Very disappointed
If you want to eat something lux and tasty, you're good at Catch. The case is very nicely decorated. It is not extremely expensive, but certainly not cheap. Price / quality ratio is good. Take a look at "I will put some bread and pata negra on the table for you" 25!
It is always busy, so you should definitely book one day in advance. Little staff and not too good service. The tables are very close together.
All in all good food, more expensive than average, too many tables and too little staff.
Upscale atmosphere, great location, nice service. The three of us ordered the "Fruit der Mer" platter and it was excellent. At 49 per person, the dish is not exactly cheap, but you pay significantly more for the quality offered elsewhere. I will definitely eat there again.
