The owners seems to value turning a profit over giving their customers the best, as the quality of the ingredients, and the food itself have gove very down hill. The only redeeming quality is the excellent staff, they are very kind and accommodating. They are the only reason someone would enjoy their meal here, because the food and current atmosphere are not.

After many excellent reviews about the king crab, we decided to eat here today farewell to my father in law - so a very special occasion. The food was good. However, the service was a little chaoictic. I would say the front of house service was the worst aspect, which is a shame because this is where the customer gets their first impression.

We arrived on time, but were left to stand around while people on reception seemed to have in house conversations. This is not a cheap restaurant and for many people coming here it is a Special occasion, and so while it is not necessary to have a sickhofantic waiter/waitress hanging off your coat tails, staff who appear to have not noticed your arrival are equally galling - particularly when you are looking at $350 bill for one course and two drinks each max for 5 - Two of which were children.

The crab was excellent and so hopefully we just caught them on a bad day, because the general ambiance was great, and it would be nice to return on another occasion, without the waiters flashing the lights on and off whilst we are finishing our drinks - many other people were still eating in other parts of the restaurant.

The food there is absolutely delicious and very generous portions are served. It's a great place to share some different entrees, appetizers and desserts with a small group. I could go on and on about there food but I have to be somewhere in 10 hours. The noise from the small dining area with low ceilings was the only thing that made it a 4 instead of 5 star experience for me.

Loved the food and great service once seated. We arrived when they opened and asked for reservations. Host gave the impression they might have trouble seating with no reservation. But after seated every single staff was polite and helpful.

I was expecting to get some really great seafood for it being so expensive, but ended up being very disappointed. I would say that out of everything that we got the lobster( pictured below) was the best and was one of the only things worth the price. I can say that it was the best lobster I have ever had. The salmon was also fairly good and fresh. Thanks main complaint and reasoning behind two stars is the price point. The cheapest item in the menu is chicken terriyaki (not pictured) and it does not live up to the price point of $20. Ended up spending more than $250 and still leaving hungry. Customer service was great except for the hostess in the front. Sadly do not think I will be going back much rather would have gone to red lobster.

I love Captain Jack's because of it's Old-World charm. For those of you thinking this is a fancy fine-dining establishment, you are wrong. It's no Mastro's, or Flemming's, but that doesn't mean the service isn't top-notch. The service is excellent! But the food (and menu itself) are Old-School. The attire is dinner-casual. (Check the website) The menu is mostly seafood, steak, or pasta with seafood or steak, and a chicken or veggie option. The side dishes are also minimal; baked potato, mushrooms, or asparagus-I think? Most meals come with a basic house salad. No kale, arugula, or mint, watermelon-feta salad. I don't even think they own feta! It's like the seafood version of Clearman's Northwoods In, or The Steak n Stein, but better, way better. (That's not be an insult, just a 'visual' of the dimmly litted, casual, old-school steak/seafood joint). Anyways, the bar is excellent and looks like an "Old Ship" with nautical ropes and navigation decor. And...the drinks are perfectly strong! There is a dark piano lounge, with a guy that sings on the weekends. He takes requests, but it's mostly classic singer-songwriter hits like Billy Joel, Elton John etc. There are usually people all ages in there which makes it fun, especially for sing-alongs. CJ's is a blast from the past for sure and it's probably my favorite restaurant in Huntington Beach.

The best seafood place I've ever eaten at. No matter where you sit everything is cozy. Very very romantic and great for kids. Staff is very helpful and make sure that you get all the bang for your buck. Appetizers are wonderful here AZ they're very affordable and will fill you up without having to get an entree. N closing all I can say is if you picked up before work at Red Lobster you owe it to yourself to try this place out it's 10 times better.

Went for Anniversary dinner, Jack gets 5 stars he was amazing! The Crab is the only reason I return to this restaurant, will it s not worth $75 the salads use to be good, they are just ok now! The bread arrived and after we ate a piece we noticed the bread in the basket had mold on the crust. This restaurant should be serving fresh bread every day, for what you are being charged! They definitely do not spend a dime on the dive restaurant, it has looked the same forever. The bathroom was dirty and had not been cleaned. 40 years I have been coming here for special occasions, never again. I will be taking my business to a better restaurant!

Been coming here for the last 10 years at least once a year. It's always good but not spectacular. Today my drinks were watered down ; I don't get it, if you are paying premium prices why not give you decent drinks. I was forced to order a beer instead of a cocktail; throughout my many dining experiences, I have found out that a good mixologist aka bartender is rare to find. They either cheat you out on booze or make a mediocre mixed drink; I don't get it, there's so much profit on booze, why cheat your customers out of it; don't deny them what they paid for. Anyways, Alaskan crab legs are a must, disregard the other stuff that they have on the menu. I had the filet and crab legs combo; crab legs were great but the filet was just Okay.
