Great welcome ... wonderful restaurant. Delicious meal ...

Very fine food, great service and garden . Check the stork coming at 4 pm for it's food

Yesterday, 1.2.18, we celebrated the 50th birthday of a family member with a lunch. We come here once a year for more than 20 years every one to two years to celebrate a special occasion.

After 50 years, Haeberlin's (big) Haeberlin family with its Auberge de l'Ill was downgraded from three to two Michelin stars in 2019, nobody in our circles understands. Also yesterday, the food was just heavenly (I can not find another name: if there is the best food in heaven, then this is definitely the pattern on earth!), The service exceptionally attentive, professional and very warm. From the front desk, to the waiter, the head waiter to the sommelier: If you sit down to table, everything is just right. The kitchen is from the dishwasher to the chefs for appetizers and main course to the pastry chef nothing but a dream team!

Therefore, our family does not forgive the family Haeberlin today and here officially not Michelin as a star less, but a star more than before: 4 stars ****! To set a counterpoint to Michelin's rating. BRAVO! Please keep up the good work! "Haeberlin 4 ever" ...

Top restaurant at all levels, highly competent staff, extraordinary preparations from starter to dessert. Beautiful hotel and benefits up to the spa.bref 1 dream place where we return again and again with 1 huge pleasure.

Very good gourmet restaurant. The atmosphere is very pleasant, the staff attentive, the meals fabulous and plentiful.

An inn that amply deserves its stars in hotel rooms and restaurants where the atmosphere, service and staff are very pleasant. We never tire of it for a second, going from the spa to the bedroom and then to the terraces for an aperitif before going up to the restaurant and finishing our coffee by the water. And the next day everything starts again with a pleasant lunch on the edge of the ill with a very flourishing landscape.

The restaurant in Alsace where you absolutely must go. The casual touch of the chef (of the family) and his kindness set the bar very high. The cuisine is great and the clients who come to discover this haute couture cuisine come from various cultural backgrounds. Very large classified wine cellar, the first glass being 16. A new decoration in several rooms and this magnificent garden at the edge of the water which will make you wait while having a small aperitif. Finally what must be remembered is that this restaurant is magnificent and deserves these stars.

Just a dream! Not only the restaurant but also the hotel. Even if the 3rd Michelin star is no longer there, the restaurant remains an experience beyond compare. And the service is simply perfect !!!

In the young menu frame: we are conquered! Really sublime dishes and perfectly made! Without bizarre associations or pretentious things. Exceptional products sublimated! obviously very good wines! And a friendly service yes! And without great manners. We were comfortable. Really a delight!

An unforgettable moment in this restaurant. This establishment is one of the jewels of the French cuisine but in addition it has kept a soul, an atmosphere and a simplicity of which the restaurants of the same category should be inspired. With foreign capital, hiring great media leaders you can win stars but the soul, atmosphere and simplicity is the exclusive brand of the greatest and it can not be bought. So 3, 2 stars..on it does not care and we are many to think since the restaurant is full. A standing and an exemplary home.

I had several opportunities to appreciate the quality of the Auberge de l'Ill, I even had, a few years ago, the privilege of entering the family kitchen and meet Paul Haeberlin: a man with a certain taste and a controlled kitchen, which has remained a local man.

Sleeping at the hotel des Berges, right next to the restaurant, also allows you to converse in the morning with people from all over the world, in perfect conviviality.

The setting, enchanting, excellent cuisine, attentive staff to discover with family or friends ...

What an excellent experience from start to finish. Very professional when making and confirming reservations.

Upon our early entry, we were allow to get freshened up in the adjacent hotel lobby as we had been out wine tasting all day.

Restaurant sits on the Ill river in heart of Alsace.

Upon entry of the restaurant we were greeted by a line of engaging and smiling employees. Any language barrier was non-existent as menus and staff were proficient in English. Heard them speaking other languages at other tables.

Sommelier suggested an excellent local Grand Cru Pinot Gris that went with both of our tasting menus.

Food came well paced, locally fresh and picturesque. Our table's location allowed us to see the well orchestrated service in the dining room.

Staff was on point with all technical, physical and hospitality skills. Our main server had been there for 30+ years and was as professionally presented as it was his first day.

Bring your wallet though, dinner with service was 550, but this isn't everyday experience.

One side note: make sure to order a taxi around dessert time as they take a long time to come...and very expensive too. 70 to Colmar.

If you get the chance and want to enjoy total dining experience, this is the place for you.

Incredible, no other words, when with my uncle and his wife. it was just amazing, the service was perfect and the food, oh my god unbelievable the chef, Marc Haeberlin was also very friendly, I do recommend this place 100%

I am extremely surprised at the loss of a star from this establishment
wonderful. Passing in May 2018, everything was absolutely perfect. Hospitality, service, cuisine, very high standard deserving 3 stars widely. I do not doubt their return to the highest level.
If I go back to Alsace, I will not fail to relive a pure moment of happiness. Thank you, Madam and Mr. Haeberlin.

Here is my first experience in this institution of French gastronomy.
The restaurant is beautiful from the outside everything is in harmony to create a cocoon in the middle of the village.
Once back we are greeted by the hostess who receives you with class.
Then we are installed in a grandiose room decorate with great taste and view of the ill.
The beginning of our meeting with the staff and the joy of having such a professional service while remaining affordable with always the word more and especially thanks to them, we would feel almost at home and its a real plus in a 2 macaroons, I say thank you because I have never been as well served as during this evening.
And the magic meal the associations was mastered with always the proper seasoning.
Mention more for cooking the bar, it's for me the best fish that I eat with this cooking.
Thank you very much for everything and congratulations to all the actors of our dinner at home.

To write about this three-star restaurant would be to take owls to Athens. We were there once for lunch and two weeks later in the evening with an overnight stay.

The attached hotel is also a wonderful place. There is no need to make large explanations, so just a few pictures of the wonderful garden on the Ill.

Paradise on Earth. Yes it is here. This magical place lives up to the stars it sports, both for the pleasure of the eyes and that of the taste buds. Pure happiness in this idyllic setting shaped by the Haeberlin family and their discreet and attentive staff. To offer yourself or to be offered at least once in your life ...

A big and sad news the hostel will have lost a star this year.
In 2018 we went twice to this restaurant and other times in previous years.
The setting is beautiful and the kitchen, always high in surprise.
In my opinion this star less is a chance for all the team of the restaurant. I'm sure he'll be able to bounce back and head out of this situation, which I'm sure is only temporary.

I know this place. I did my internship BTS hotels and restaurants. It is a place where the history of family and gourmet cuisine is ubiquitous. Dishes exceptions. I recommend this restaurant.
