I've been here three times now. The food is expensive. The seating crowded. The greeter never even addressed me or my companion she simply gathered the menus and turned and began walking while shooting a barely audible " this way" over her shoulder. I will probably have to go here again as it is my daughter's favorite but if someone were to ask me about a good place to dine in Mocksville NC I would not recommend Restaurant 101.
I have never written a review before. However, after my experience at Restaurant 101, I feel I must share. I placed an order over the phone for 2 crab cakes with a side of sweet potato fries. I was told that it should be ready in about 15 minutes. I arrived and was told it was not ready. They appeared to be busy, so I waited on the bench. After about 5 minutes, I looked on my phone and saw I had actually placed the order 18 minutes before. I waited for about another 10 minutes and then went up to the hostess and asked her if she could check on my order because I had already been waiting quite a while. She said "that's not my fault". I said "I never said it was. I just asked if you could check on my food." A lady that came in after me noticed a to go bag and checked it. She asked me if I ordered crab cakes. So needless to say, there was a bag with my food in it it sitting out for an undetermined length of time because not one of the many people walking around bothered to check it.
Overall, very poor service. The food was good though.
We love to eat here when in town. Everything we ve tried is great!

Simply garbage in every way. Terrible wait staff. The food was cold and seemed to left over from the day before. Obvious bug infestation as far as filthy floors. The restrooms hadn t been cleaned in a very long time. Not sure how this disgusting place as not been shut down. The worst experience at restaurant period. I really wanted to like this place but I was sourly disappointed to say the least.
This place is awesome! Love going here to eat. The only thing I would complain about is the shrimp and grits portion is skimpy sometimes. They need to give more food for the price they are charging or lower the price considering the portion size. I would still recommend this place!
It was a beautiful day in Mocksville and I thought I would try something new so I went to Restaurant 101. I walked in and I was pleasantly greeted by the staff. They took me to a dark place in the very back of the restaurant and sat me at a dirty table and laid the menu down in crumbs and salt. Then I picked up the menu and realized that this is one of those places who hides their drink prices and doesn't put them on the menu. I was hoping for a plate lunch but soon realized that this wasn't that type of restaurant. This was one of those overpriced burger joints. I got the pork chop. It was boneless so there wasn't much taste. The vegetable selection is quite pitiful. I got the sauteed vegetables which tasted about as bland as the boneless pork chop. The meal made for an expensive lunch. I couldn't tell if my waiter was a waiter or a waitress. He/she had no personality and never made any attempt at conversation. He/she never smiled and didn't check on me until the meal was over.
Good food, consistantly! Nice atmosphere for casual dining. Highly recommend!
Great place to eat!! Food is always good.. I got the salmon over rice plate with a salad, mixed veggies (squash, zucchini and onions). Was perfect!!

I love this place! Delicious food with fresh ingredients. Great, friendly service. They blow other (more expensive) restaurants away with their steak/salmon and they're perfectly cooked every time. Bar selection is impressive, especially being located in a small town. 10/10, highly recommend this place!

For Mocksville, not sure it gets better. 1/2 price wine on Wed., not a bad wine selection either. Food is solid, and super cool bar. Try it out.

We had a wonderful family style wedding reception in their new back room. The staff could not have been more accommodating and welcoming. Even with the large party, food and drinks were quick and delicious! Big thanks to restaurant 101!
Lunch today was great fish and chip with onion rings for me. My wife had the chicken salad melt and sweet potato fries excellent as usual. We try to eat there at least once a month.
Great food. Great service. Only thing we'd have changed was there was no music or volume on the TV in the background so it was weird eating in the quiet.

Really like their food...shrimp and Grits is highly recommended. ..also pork chops, crab dip...was not just crazy about their ribs...too much sauce...just me I guess...prefer dry rub and sauce on the side. Which I requested, but apparently not done there.
I have eaten here several times over the years. Every time I visit I am pleasantly surprised. This visit, it was the live music in the parking lot. I have been here several times when they have had live entertainment. This was the largest crowd yet. Restaurant 101 does its part in keeping Mocksville a vibrant town with things to do. Unfortunately, the crowd was so large, I had to eat inside for the first time. Though unfortunate, also a pleasant surprise. The tables had ample space between them. I did not feel claustrophobic or crowded. My menu choice was the Shrimp and Grits. The dish was pleasantly creamy with succulent shrimp and bursting with flavor and texture. If you love fresh produce, crisp salads and homemade flavorful salad dressings, Restaurant 101 is for you.
