Complementary breakfast, nice but small room, kitchenette
Professional event held here, will plan again in the future
Everything was clean and functional. Breakfast plentiful and varied, all fresh.
Close proximity to Bank of America Stadium...great place to stay!
Good food at this place in addition to the nightly free apps and beer and wine.
Nice hotel and friendly staff, parking in garage cost daily and hard to find parking on street.
I booked a 2 bedroom suite for one night stay. I called ahead and talked with a hotel staff member named Amber 12 hours before my arrival to let the hotel staff know that I was traveling on the train and there was some mechanical problems which was delaying arrival and I would not be there til between 1 am and 2am and told them not to give my room away, that I would be arriving. I was told by Amber they would hold my room until noon the next day...for me not to worry. When I arrived at the hotel tired and sleepy at 1:45 am with my confirmation number my room had been given away to someone else. WHY???... The person working the night shift stated she don't know why my room was given away. She was nice and tried to help us best she could. We ended up in a 1 bedroom suite with my grandson having to sleep on a sofa bed after being on the train for 13 hours. I'm very displeased that someone just gave away my room that I had a reservation for. The hotel has a cancellation policy that they follow to charge me if u don't show up. I went online to this website to put this review. Normally they send u an email for review of your hotel stay. I don't know why I didn't get one.
I attended a event there and the staff was superb!!!
Great room! Great service.. we had no issues with our stay!
Nice and quite. Near to city center so you can get everything on walking distance. Perfect place for longterm stay.
Stayed there the week of my birthday, the entire team was amazing and made it a truly memorable experience. Chanel, Cam and Pam were very nice to us, and made our day with their above and beyond service. I would encourage anyone to stay here in the future. This hotel is very lucky to have people this good on their team!
- a very satisfied customer!
Very good prefer a hotel that does not accept pets because of allergy reasons
The lobby and social lounge were very nice. The coffee was fresh and they had plenty of cream and sugar.
Perfect location for the Panthers game. Hotel was very clean and staff was great.
It was a good hotel for the rate, with a good location for what I needed. The staff was courteous and the majority of the patrons were as well. If you need a decently priced hotel downtown, this one has everything you need. Clean, stocked rooms that are nice and updated.
Friendly and helpful staff. Clean rooms and facilities.
Very good customer service and accommodating rooms don't like the 20% gratuity charge each time for room service because I tip according to service and if service is poor I definitely wouldn't want to give 20% for it
**UPDATE FYI a manger from corporate refunded one night s stay. :)
The experience here made it hard to believe I was staying at a hotel with the Marriott name. I arrived Friday night looking forward to a nice getaway to Charlotte for a friend s wedding and having my sister & her spouse join me the next day. I told the kind lady at the desk that I d have guests joining me. She happily said just let us know if you need a rollaway bed. Perfect!
The renovations/construction was the least of our problems. Incompetence instead abounded. It seemed this place was run by novices; workers were repeatedly confused, unsure, or didn t even try at all. First, our phone did not work. After driving with 2 kids from Maryland, we attempted to order room service but HAD TO DO SO FROM OUR CELL PHONE. We told front desk this; they said, oh your phone s not working? , transferred us to the kitchen with NO OFFER of a replacement phone. The room service guy left the cart in our room, so as we re eating, we get a knock, open the door and in walks a woman who says, Oh we need that cart back. Sorry that guy was new, he didn t know. Fine, no big deal...
Next morning, I discovered our shower had no pressure. Turned to full blast, the water dropped out causing me to have to stand right underneath and hope to rinse. I went down to ask if my family could be moved to a different room; the lady at the desk went back to ask her manager, who simply said, No, without offering an explanation or any kind customer service words. The original lady returned and tried to offer some alternative saying, um we can t move you but we can send maintenance up to check it. When? Uh Maintenance usually comes in at around 10 on Saturday. (Around 10? Nothing exact I guess...ok.) I reminded front desk of my non-working phone as well.
Maintenance came and fixed the shower, finally bring a replacement phone...which came after a separate maintenance guy had already come in to fix it, but that message never got relayed to this maintenance guy.
Saturday night, we TRY get the rollaway bed. We call down at 10:30 tired, & are told the rollaway will be right up. After about 35 minutes and no bed, I call again. This person says, Well I just got here, so you need a rollaway bed? Really? After about 15 more minutes go by, we get a knock at the door. We open the door and ALL sit in disbelief as a worker PUSHES A BOX SPRING into our room! Stunned, my sister tells him that must be a mistake. He replies, they told me to get the bed from the 5th floor closet. This is all that s there. I ll be back with the rolling part. He returns with the folded metal contraption on wheels and only then realizes that what he d brought to us was actually NOT a mattress. He takes the box spring away with the promise of correcting the matter AND RETURNS WITH THE YELLOW FOAM PART THAT IS SUPPOSED TO GO ATOP A MATTRESS and hands it to us, saying, Now I got it! This is your piece that goes with that. WE BURST into disbelief-filled laughter so hard we could barely speak. Realizing his grievous error, this guy states, They keep sending me to different floors. I ve only been training a few weeks, I m getting used to supervising... We erupted into laughter yet again! This was a SUPERVISOR? At that point we knew we had no chance of having a pleasant stay nor a rollaway bed. He said he couldn t find anything else. We just said never mind.
Never in a hotel stay have I had SO MANY strangers in my room (the rollaway bed supervisor was like the 5th worker in there.)
So the 6 of us (my hubby, me, our two kids, & my sister & hubby) made use of the bed and pullout couch. Not the best for comfort but better than being on the street. So much for comfortable accommodating Marriott.
I usually hate leaving hotels but I couldn t wait to leave. Surprise! Couldn t even do that easily. Parking garage ticket didn t work. Had to leave my car at exit gate to walk back inside for a replacement ticket. I traveled too far for such a horrible experience. Do I not deserve a refund? Something? Go elsewhere.
Highly recommended! The 2 bedroom suite was perfect for 6 adults. Free shuttle service was very convenient!
Very comfortable and spacious. Nice amenities. Nice lobby for hanging out in. Wish they had digital thermostats. Adjusting analog ones with no numbers is an exercise in trial and error, and if you're only there one night, it's mostly error.
Great hotel in Uptown Charlotte but if the Knights are playing, you may want to reserve a room high up and on the other side of the hotel. The brass band that plays after each game is pretty loud.
Great stay! Roomy room! Within walking distance to a lot of bars and restaurants. Nice complementary breakfast every morning.
Loved this hotel, great breakfasts, lovely suite, free shuttle to downtown.
My family stayed in a 2 bedroom suite, which was wonderful and gave more privacy. The furniture and fixtures were a little worn but I believe they are planning on renovating. Staff was friendly and helpful. The football stadium and the ballpark are practically next door. There are several parks within walking distance and a few restaurants as well. Complimentary breakfast is provided, the waffle machine made up for the lack of bacon :)
The hotel was nicely appointed and quiet. The staff were friendly and helpful.
Very nice hotel downtown, with a shuttle bus to take us to dinner and back.
This is a recently renovated residence inn. The rooms are nice if oddly laid out. Furniture is in good shape, the TV let's you plug in HDMI devices, and it's centrally located. The AAA baseball stadium and Panthers are both a stone's throw away and downtown is a short walk. Lots of good food in short walking distance. Staff is friendly. Rates are good. It's nothing fancy but for the price you can't beat it.
Beware of ants!!!
My fiance and I were having a much needed get away and booked a 1 bedroom executive suite with a jacuzzi tub about 2 or 3 months ahead of our trip. This hotel room splurge was unusual for us, so we were really looking forward to it! We were happy with the room when we first checked. We noticed an ant in the bathroom and kitchen. It was just one or two so we didn't think much of it.
After dinner we came back to the room to watch tv and relax. A few minutes after grabbing a glass of water I noticed an ant on my glass. Not good, but it was just one ant. The living room was a bit chilly so I went to grab a blanket from the closet and surprise, more ants (yes plural this time). Around the same time my fiance saw ants in the bathroom.
At this point we began inspecting the room. Ants were crawling out from the carpet and into the kitchen. There were ants on our suitcase. And we even spotted 2 on the bed.
We called the front desk. There were no other executive suites available. This was a major bummer given we had been looking forward to this for months! They put us in a studio.
The room we ended up in was comprable to the types of rooms we usually book at more affordable hotels for a lower rate. After seeing the studio I called the front desk to see if they could reduce the price. They took twenty bucks off the nightly rate, which was still higher than we would normally pay for a hotel. Had we known the type of room we would have ended up in, we would have just booked a room at a more affordable hotel.
Avoid the ants and save yourself the hassle and disappointment. Book elsewhere!
Very clean rooms. The hotel staff was very polite and helpful. We went to the Panthers stadium and it was only a two min walk.
In between baseball and football stadiums. Spacious rooms with kitchen, living room, bedroom, and bath setup like a suite. Good breakfast
Very nice surprised by the kitchenette and sitting area in our room. Very comfortable beds and they had free breakfast :)
Ants!
My fiance and I booked a 1 bedroom executive suite with a jacuzzi tub for a getaway weekend. Upon coming back to the room after dinner, there were ants everywhere. In the kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom.
We called the front desk. There were no other executive suites available. This was a major bummer given we had been looking forward to this for months! They put us in a studio room.

The continental breakfast was mediocre.

I had a wonderful time during my stay, the staff were very professional n the Bar tender n kitchen staff were awesome with special details. The manager was A+ n I will return.
The bar area was nice. There are TV's and the service was great.
The staff here are friendly and helpful in a very well informed manner. The decor features large prints of Charlotte public artworks in close-up views. The entire property is tidily well kept. Parking is free in the adjacent multilevel parking structure. The hotel is flanked by the Charlotte Knights baseball park and the Charlotte Panthers football stadium. Located in uptown Charlotte, there are myriad restaurants, museums and public art to enjoy.
Good place to stay for a Knights baseball game! Close proximity to uptown if you want to walk to a few eating spots
Qwerty and clean, plus the free drinks does not hurt either
This hotel is really nice! The staff are wonderful and very helpful. It is clean, the breakfast is great and the gym is nice!
Friendlier staff than usual, helpful and pleasant. Excellent location.
Friendly staff, nice little snack/supply shop, decent breakfast w reasonable coffee - but best thing was the free, on demand shuttle to drop off or get picked up around town.
I stay here regularly when I travel to Charlotte for business. I'm never disappointed with the staff or the hotel itself. The amenities speak for themselves, the bar, restaurant, and Lobby are immaculate. Close to everything you need in the Uptown area
Quick suggestion for you as a frequent traveller. There are at least five other Marriott/SPG properties within a 10-15 minute walk from this hotel. Including two brand-new ones. They're all priced about the same. Give them a whirl instead. We didn't have that great of an experience.
1) Even though the hotel barely had any guests the night we were there, we received a small room on the backside of the hotel on a mid level floor. Hallways were dimly lit and the room, although recently renovated, looked like it had received some new carpet and a few other furnishings, but there were lots of signs of wear and tear.
2) There is a major rail line behind the parking garage on the backside of the hotel. We heard trains rumble by all night.
3) At 6:45am construction started on the parking garage and didn't allow us to sleep for the rest of the night. Temporary for sure, but we weren't told anything about it.
4) I didn't find the bed that comfortable.
Here are the positives:
1) If the wind is right you could probably spit on the ballpark or football stadium from your room
2) It's located on the edge of the best part of Charlotte. We walked into the core for dinner through a great park right across the street.
3) Ample parking and the included breakfast seemed alright.
I just picked up ticket for the football game there.
Great accommodations and location. Room was clean and fresh. Continental breakfast was wonderful!
Nice hotel with an excellent location especially if it's something at the stadium
Great staff and great location. Beds could be a little softer though.
If you have a nice car do not stay at this hotel! I arrived at this hotel late Friday night and the next morning when I woke up to go to my car to grab a few things from my car I found a huge brick thrown through my window and a few items were stolen. I was sick!!! To top it off, I realized for all the money that I spent for the room, which you would think at this point I should have not had to pay, I found that they had no cameras to even watch over the parking lot which is unusual giving the cost you pay per night for not just the room but the parking as well. By the grace of God, the individuals responsible for breaking into my car attempted to use my card at a local 711 not far from the hotel and the manager allowed me to watch the video feed of those individuals entering his store with guess who's bag and belongings? Mine!!! I have never been so disappointed and mad all at the same time and I would not recommend that anyone stays at this hotel. The hotel itself took no responsibility for what happened and only did an incident report and definitely still made me pay full price for the weekend. I will never come to this area again and I will definitely never consider staying here again EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!
Myself, Sister & Mom stayed the week of September 25th for a 5 night stay. We were visiting from Arizona for my nieces wedding! It was the best experience at a hotel we ever had ! From the front desk, room service & housekeeping they were EXCELLENT! The management staff was EXCEPTIONAL and would recommend this hotel to everyone I know & can t wait to visit Charlotte again!
Very beautiful room. I hate you pay $12.00 a day to park. Because the deck belongs to Duke ENERGY!!!!
Great downtown location and terrific front desk staff. Tori and Benjamin made sure my check in went smooth. Something that was very important due to parking and unloading. The Residence Inn sits between the football and baseball stadiums.
Great staff, nice rooms, love the free parking with ample electric vehicle charging.
Stayed over the weekend for the Coca-cola 600. Tiva and the front end staff were super friendly and and awesome. They were always willing and able to help. Rooms were clean and spacious. Parking was as bit of a pain (shared garage with plenty of space but you need to get a ticket validated which I had issue with). Will 100% stay again! Would give 10 stars if I could.
My stay there was wonderful!!! The layout of the room was nice. I loved the water pressure in the shower
Fast, friendly and efficient, couldn't ask for anything more.
