I had a couple couches that needed to removed; of course this wasn't part of my regular service, although after being a loyal customer for over 15 years, you'd think there would be SOME consideration...anyway, I call to ask what it'll cost me...ready?...drum roll please...$75 FOR EACH ITEM, PLUS FEES !?!?!? Fees? If $75 isn't a fee, what the heck is??

THIS IS ABSOLUTELY OVER THE TOP PRICE GOUGING !!!!! $150+ to come to a house that they already come to twice a week is borderline robbery and an outright slap in the customers' face. Thanks, but no thanks...looks like a chainsaw and a backyard bonfire are in order!

One star is way too generous! Every other week, if not every week I am calling them to remind them to come get my trash and/or recycles. I've only lived at this residence for 6 weeks and I have had to call and remind them 4 times already! When I call and tell them they act so surprised as if all these other reviews are not crossing the wires. Since I don't live in a subdivision I pay $160 every 3 months! I am changing companies as soon as the next bill comes. They said I can't because I have a 2 year contract, I said I can because they have already breached the contract when they chronically do not collect the trash on my scheduled pick-ups.

Avoid this company at all cost. We recently moved and have been using them for almost 2 months now. Repeatedly they have only picked up half of our trash, if that. Several times they have not even come at all on scheduled days. Once our trash blew a little into the street in a storm and they drove AROUND the bags and left them there. I wish I had done my research before signing up for a full year. They are awful. I have never had so many problems with a trash company.

There customer service is horrible to deal with. The wait times are long and I never can get a resolution to my problem on the first phone call. I am still trying to deal with closing my account and waiting for a call back yet again. Do not use this company if you want good customer service.

This company deserves no stars. I have been dealing with a customer service issue for almost a month and it is still not resolved. I have been lied to by several customer service representatives. This company takes no pride in their work and they do not seem to care about their customers.

Sadly, a once flawless pick up schedule has turned into a frustrating deal, week after week. I pay for two trash pick ups, on Tuesday and Friday. Why do I have to keep complaining about missed Tuesday pickups? If it was once, ok, twice ok, but almost weekly is a sign of not caring . You are not a monopoly and with 5 houses changing to a different company, your loyal customers are treated badly. Perhaps it is true , being a jerk pays off.

They keep upping the price for services they don t even provide and over charging us while taking away services . They skip collection 50% of the time. They litter the trash they collect all over the street. There customer service is a joke, they just say one thing and do another. They don t honor the Chose another company. If we could we would. They don t honor anything AAA.

Long time customer till my bill shot up another 30 dollars to 185 dollars a quarter. On top of the high cost they regularly missed pick ups of trash, recycling and yard waste. Their customer service is also horrendous.

They have literally only been to my house once and that was to drop off bins. They never picked up my trash for 2 months even though I contacted them about every missed pickup. I cancelled my account 3 weeks ago and they STILL haven't picked up my bins. I get a reminder every Tuesday that they'll be here on Wednesday and I contact them every Thursday to say that the bins are still here. Customer service reps are nice but apparently the internal communication throughout the company sucks because I can't get these huge bins out of my yard and get my deposit back.

They get two stars, because in our book they lost three already after two phone calls.

In phone call #1, we set up our trash. The guy told us the fee was $142.11, but when we mentioned that our landlords pay 69, suddenly the fee was $73!! Next he told us to BE SURE to tell the landlord to have his cans picked up, and new ones would be dropped off.

The landlord (independent to all this) emailed to ask if we would just use their cans, to eliminate the pickup fee (and presumably our drop off fee). Since we had no idea of a fee, we were slightly surprised when we called the second time and learned there is a drop off fee for us AND a pickup fee for the landlords if we don't use the same cans.

Very shady business practices...seems like they are trying to squeeze you unless you are well informed about their shadiness!!

Ok,it's been a year that i work with Republic Services and it's been the worst experience i've ever had with my trash,the most readon is the employees they are extremely rude and they have a very bad attitude,to the point i HATE to contact them.
Today was the only day i called to cancel my service and for the first time in a year i talked to " Scott Campbell " he was the most calm and polite and professional person i talked to,honestly i thought he is a MANAGER OR SUPERVISOR thats why he is so nice ,i really appreciate him for his amazing customer service .

I used Republic Services for residential trash pic...

I used Republic Services for residential trash pick up in Fairfax County for over 5 years. In that time my trash was picked up reliably and responsibly by a fantastic team of hardworking employees. They even work on most holidays!

My interactions with customer service have all been positive, especially my most recent call. I got a person on the phone right away to close out my account because we are moving. I was able to stop my service, schedule the cans to be picked up, end auto-pay, and get a refund for the rest of the payment period, in just a few minutes. The rep was Autumn and she was terrific!

The driver has decided not to pick up our bins any more. Customer service basically said that the driver will pick them up if they're empty. Seriously?! If the bins are empty, then I don't need to pay for AAA's service.

We live in Mill Heights Dr, Herndon... on last Thursday night itself we kept our trash can outside since we don t know what time these guys will pick up on Friday but they never came .. enquired with my friendly neighbor who said they are occasionally skipping our area on Fridays.. don t know we have any other alternative to switch

They recently missed picking up the trash on our entire street. My wife called and we were promised that we would be rescheduled on three different times. Nothing was picked up. At least two of our neighbors called as well and nothing happened. Apparently the customer service department can only send an email to the delivery department but then does nothing to follow up. If I had another choice in trash pickup services I would change but Fairfax County has limited us to who we can use.

This is without a doubt the worst trash company in...

This is without a doubt the worst trash company in the USA. Forget trying to schedule a bulk pickup. I have waited on hold four times for over 45 minutes each time. Needless to say, at that point i hang up. The fifth time i wait on hold for 30 minutes and speak to an agent for 1 minute before i am disconnected. Forget trying to call their corporate office in Arizona--they don't provide contact information where you can reach a human being. Forget expecting reliable pickup. i cannot count the amount of times they missed a pickup. The only dept you can speak to is their call center- staffed with rude and unhelpful employees. I fired them today. The amount of time i spent trying to schedule a pickup is literally unbelievable. And in the end, i never was able to speak with anyone to schedule the pickup.

As you can see from all of the other reviews, you will get plenty of apologies and lip service about the constant missed pick ups, but they don't do anything about it. Come get the trash? Nope. Take a percentage off next month's bill? Hahahahaha. Look elsewhere.

Hey northern Virginia customers this company is atrocious! WARNING WE FIRED THEM AND NOW THEY PICKED UP CANS BUT BILLED US 50.00 dollars! We are calling better business bureau. Every one star review is spot on! We signed up under a contract which they breached BEFORE covid. So we had at least 46 missed pick ups BEFORE covid so what is excuse for that! First company in 30 years that sucked then charged to pick up there cans! If they did there job, we would have dealt with it

I m having the same experience everyone else is. Regular missed pickups, everyone lies about coming to collect the trash for missed pickups from the call center person to the supervisors. Corruption abounds in this company - no one should contract with them. I ve had trash sitting for days and days after multiple calls and promises to retrieve it.

Called customer service for large item pickup and were very friendly & helpful.

Checked on plastic recyclables. China isn't buying anymore so it goes to landfill separately. So still sorting it for possible future use, just rinse, no need to peel stickers.

Horrible customer service! They truly do lie to you and say anything to get you off the phone only to set you up for more disappointment later.

Republic missed my regularly scheduled pick up last Thursday despite picking up across the street from me (I live on Henderson RD). I called Friday and the customer service rep told me that they would try to have someone out that day but he guaranteed me that they would be out by Monday at the latest. No one showed Friday and no one showed up Monday.

I called again Monday and this time the customer service rep said that they had me on the schedule for Tuesday. I explained to her that this is unacceptable and that is not what I was guaranteed by the rep on Friday and that I would expect a refund for the services not provided. She said sure, then offered me $0.88 for the missed pick up which was confusing since I pay way more than $0.88 a week for trash pick up. I told her no thanks, I ll wait for them to come on Tuesday but I would like to file a complaint. She said that the only way to do that was through her, so I proceeded to do so and she assured me that someone would be in contact with me to address my concerns, but in the meantime, they would be out Tuesday for the missed pick up.

Surprise! No one showed up Tuesday to pick up the trash and no one has called to address my complaint. I then called again today (Wednesday) and asked to speak directly to a supervisor or the manager on duty. The customer service rep says sure and puts me on hold for 10 minutes and then transfer me to someone that I thought was the supervisor/manager but was actually the escalation department . This lady asks what is my concern and I explain that my trash pick up was missed and that two separate customer service reps have lied to me about when they will pick up my trash. She then tries to tell me that the customer service reps were not lying and put the blame on the operations manager at the local office who should have contacted me if they were not able to make it out . I told her that when you tell someone something that is not true, that is a lie and that is the case here and it s happened twice. She then assured me that someone will be out today (Wednesday) and that the operations manager will call me.

As of 2pm, no one has showed up and no one has called. I ll go ahead and make a prediction that no one will call and no one will show up today because tomorrow is my regular pick up day and the operations manager is going to hope that this is good enough and that I will shut up. Well it s not and I m not! I have tons of trash piling up and due to the COVID-19 guidance, everything has to be in the can which is already overflowing with more trash in the garage, so I literally need two pick ups back to back to get rid off the trash piling up.

I fired American several months ago due to poor customer service, I m about to do the same to Republic. If you are considering this company, do yourself a big favor and find someone else even if you pay a little extra. Any initial savings you think you might get are quickly squandered by missed pick ups and terrible customer service.

**Update: It is Wednesday evening and no one has shown up just like I predicted and no one has called me and the offices are closed for today. Incredible!!!!

Since merging with AAA trash services - this company routinely does not empty the trash bins leaving garbage to ferment in the heat of summer. Calling their customer service doesn't have any effect - they still leave trash on a regular basis requiring me to empty and disinfect the bin nearly every week.

After cancelling they missed the scheduled day to retrieve the cans, so I set up a new appointment. Well, the cans disappeared, so we assume they got them, but they claim they didn't so they are charging us for both cans. They also state that they know nothing about missing the first appointment. They're not the most organized company, but they generally picked up the trash, so I will give them 2 stars.

Seriously, I just moved into my new home and I called the company to schedule for my bins. They told me the fees and schedule and i'm okay with it. Also, it was suppose to delivery on Thursday I was fine with it. And told me to put my trash out and they would take it. It's been 2 weeks, I have not received my bins nor picked up my trashes. Won't even pick up so I can correct them. I have to find a better service than this crap. Pick another service than this one. Don't go through what I went through!

One of the worst customer service support experien...

One of the worst customer service support experiences ever.

Not only did they try to change the charges on my first bill to a higher service fee, even though we had a service agreement, but today they didn't pick up all the trash. I write this as I wait online for over 30 min to get someone from customer service to pick up the phone.

To do over, I would not have signed up for this service--there isn't any.
