Horrible customer service! They truly do lie to you and say anything to get you off the phone only to set you up for more disappointment later.
Republic missed my regularly scheduled pick up last Thursday despite picking up across the street from me (I live on Henderson RD). I called Friday and the customer service rep told me that they would try to have someone out that day but he guaranteed me that they would be out by Monday at the latest. No one showed Friday and no one showed up Monday.
I called again Monday and this time the customer service rep said that they had me on the schedule for Tuesday. I explained to her that this is unacceptable and that is not what I was guaranteed by the rep on Friday and that I would expect a refund for the services not provided. She said sure, then offered me $0.88 for the missed pick up which was confusing since I pay way more than $0.88 a week for trash pick up. I told her no thanks, I ll wait for them to come on Tuesday but I would like to file a complaint. She said that the only way to do that was through her, so I proceeded to do so and she assured me that someone would be in contact with me to address my concerns, but in the meantime, they would be out Tuesday for the missed pick up.
Surprise! No one showed up Tuesday to pick up the trash and no one has called to address my complaint. I then called again today (Wednesday) and asked to speak directly to a supervisor or the manager on duty. The customer service rep says sure and puts me on hold for 10 minutes and then transfer me to someone that I thought was the supervisor/manager but was actually the escalation department . This lady asks what is my concern and I explain that my trash pick up was missed and that two separate customer service reps have lied to me about when they will pick up my trash. She then tries to tell me that the customer service reps were not lying and put the blame on the operations manager at the local office who should have contacted me if they were not able to make it out . I told her that when you tell someone something that is not true, that is a lie and that is the case here and it s happened twice. She then assured me that someone will be out today (Wednesday) and that the operations manager will call me.
As of 2pm, no one has showed up and no one has called. I ll go ahead and make a prediction that no one will call and no one will show up today because tomorrow is my regular pick up day and the operations manager is going to hope that this is good enough and that I will shut up. Well it s not and I m not! I have tons of trash piling up and due to the COVID-19 guidance, everything has to be in the can which is already overflowing with more trash in the garage, so I literally need two pick ups back to back to get rid off the trash piling up.
I fired American several months ago due to poor customer service, I m about to do the same to Republic. If you are considering this company, do yourself a big favor and find someone else even if you pay a little extra. Any initial savings you think you might get are quickly squandered by missed pick ups and terrible customer service.
**Update: It is Wednesday evening and no one has shown up just like I predicted and no one has called me and the offices are closed for today. Incredible!!!!
