Totally satisfied with the entire team at Renova Energy. From Cortland's very professional and thorough explanation and presentation of how the system works, to the individuals who measured for the system (can't recall their names), to Bianca who coordinated with our HOA, to Gwen who coordinated the install, and to Alvaro and his Crew 10 team of installers, we are totally impressed. Highly recommend Renova Energy!

Renova itself has a good reputation. I am giving it 2pts. because of the financial institution their contract is with, Sunpower Solar. The contract is in small print and lengthy. I live in the Coachella Valley and we get the sunshine most of the year. 2020 I had a credit on my 'settlement' bill
in the amount of -$55.00.
In May 2020 Renova's equipment failed. It was the inverter. It was out May to Aug. for 94 days and their equipment did not produce any energy for the grid. It took Renova that long to replace it, Even after phone calls.
At the end of my settlement bill for 2021 I owed $621.80 payable to SCE.
Thankfully they have payment plans..lol
I am screwed. Apparently the contract does not make-up for the credit you should have. After 'reviewing' my account, Sunpower is not even making up the SCE bill balance. Sunpower is only covering $606.46 of the $621.80 of my SCE settlement bill. Which means I am out of the credit I usually have on my settlement bill and the shortage of the settlement total.. And I have yet to receive the refund, which is mailed from San Jose, a 3 day mailing process.
Lesson: Make sure your system is working and if not, get on the phone right away and get the problem fixed.

UPDATE: 4/12/2021 I finally got through to Sunpower "Payment Solutions Dept". Inquired about my refund check, gave them my name and I hear "you are not in the system". Wow, so where have my payments been going! Maybe I should stop making payments. lol

This was the second time that we've used Renova to install solar panels on our home, and for our current residence we also added battery storage (Tesla Power Wall) along with the panels. Once again the crews were first-rate and did excellent work. For this most recent project I want to thank Alonzo and Demetrios for their work most recently on the batteries installation, as well as Enrique Holt who guided us through the entire project from start to finish, and who made it all very easy for us.

Renova and Taj Lindels, my Advisor were very very professional,. They did everything they said they would, on time and thorough. They cleaned up every day and were polite and helpful with any questions I had. They were finished quicker than they estimated and we are loving having solar power. Would highly recommend Taj and Renova....

I love this group of people. Barb was my sales manager and working with her has made my first time buying solar a smooth and fun experience. She truly cares about what you need and she went above and beyond to make sure I had all the information required to make the right decision. I did get to meet some of the other team members and Julio was the head of the installation team and he and his crew were just as friendly, upbeat and professional as Barb. Aida in the office helped me out on the back end and words can t even describe how helpful she was! I highly recommend Renova and anyone would be lucky to have them as their solar company.

I inquired about getting solar in August 2020 for my parents house. Albert was our consultant and prided Renova on their great reviews, because we were looking into other options as well. My first complaint is that during his consult, he mentioned that as soon as our permit was approved, they would install the solar panels which we were looking at a November install. I received an email that our permit was approved 11/3/20, in which I emailed Albert to set up a date to install the solar. He told me 12/2 was the earliest date they could install, which is a month after our permit was approved. 1 month is different than as soon as you receive the okay to install. After I asked for an earlier install date, miraculously, there was an earlier date in November. Our solar was installed on 11/19/20 and took a few days to complete. After it was completed, there was no follow up on what the next steps were on whether it was active or not. Communication from Renova went cold. My brother and I emailed Albert regarding what the next steps were and he kept saying that it is not active but no follow up in terms of when to expect it to be active. I spoke with Lynn, one of the managers and she told me there was an issue with our solar and she would contact the IT department to get it fixed and then call us back to follow up. She never called back. My brother called Renova plus to figure out why our solar is not working. At the end of the day, my family should not be working this hard to figure out why our solar panels aren t working. Albert and Lynn should have figured that out for us as we are new customers who know nothing about solar. Just a few days ago, our app finally showed that our solar was active and working and I still have yet to get an in service on how to interpret any of this.

UPDATE: my review went from 1-3 stars because Nate and Courtland took care of all my needs and concerns. Hopefully as we work with Renova more in the future, it will be 5 stars.

Very few companies do I give a 5-star rating to, but Renova Energy is absolutely deserving of such a rating. On February 1st I meet with our service coordinator, Mark Licon. We got our PTO (permit to operate) from SCE on the April 3rd. That was quick!

Professional, knowledgeable, passion, best project manager with immediate follow up all describe how Mark handled our project. He showed me around their facility and took the time to ensure I understood what I was getting into. I met the CEO, engineers and others who do all the data to ensure proper placement of our solar system. Sun Solar even called to see if I had any questions about their panels.

The crew that came out to install the system was courteous, knowledgeable and quick! They did an outstanding job installing the panels. The lead on the job checked in to make sure we didn't have any questions and let us know what they would be doing for the day. I give high marks to their installation crew as well.

We had around 5 companies come out and each had their 'flair' on trying to sell you a solar system. Mark and the Renova crew made sure we had all the information and details needed, so we could make an informed decision. They have options on purchase and a stellar leasing program. I had no intention of playing 'stump the salesman' but we had a lot of questions about installation and energy production and usage. Mark & his Renova team answered each question. We have had a few issues with contractors upon moving here a few months back. Mark, Renova and their employees gave us a renewed faith that there are true professionals in the Valley. I recommend them to my neighbors and friends. I am sold on their business and their employees. You can tell they all are happy to be there and take pride in their work & company.

Kudos Renova Energy and a special thanks to Mark Licon. Call him!

2/20/21: Many of the issues that I had (see below) have been corrected, and so I've updated my review to three stars and I anticipate increasing them further. I'll likely repost an entirely new and complete review soon, but I'd like to see how all will turn out.
2/13/21: I have just had my solar panels installed and turned on (in south Palm Springs), however, there were and still are several problems with the job and I'm hoping that they will be resolved. Prior to installation I would have given our salesman, Cortland, a perfect review, but even though he had promised to show up the day the work was to start, he never did nor did he arrange any substitute and as a result several things were done incorrectly per our discussions and his assurances. In fact, I'm not sure any actual supervisor type ever did show up. Several times the crew said, no one told us that. So things that were promised and some that are in writing have not been done or were done differently and/or not as well. Also, the crew left a substantial mess in our laundry room and some in the garage, of broken bits of concrete stucco (a very large bucket's worth, pushing our dryer out from the wall and blocking the door). Only by chance when one of the crew returned for his ladder did he help clean up most of it at my very strong insistence (otherwise no one would have done it). Additional problems are with conduit location, unfinished paint, unlabeled circuits, spaghetti ground wire locations and more. I would appreciate some correction of these problems and I hope that I will be able to change this one star review to a 4 or 5 star review, but so far, I have not been pleased with the result of choosing Renova.
