Things I liked:

Things I liked:
1. Service - The staff here are very humble and polite and always delighted to serve you. Very very courteous.
2. Breakfast - Pretty good ''all you can eat" breakfast buffet.
3. Location - Situated besides Powai lake, it has a nice view. It is also quite peaceful.

Things I disliked:
1. Rugs in lobby and room - They looked dirty and were smelly as well
2. Small rooms
3. No jet in commode

I stayed here for about 5 months during the lockdown. Obviously these were extremely unique circumstances, but the staff handled it in stride. I'm so thankful for how accommodating they were during this difficult time. They did their best to keep us happy- switching up the food menu regularly, doing our groceries for us since we were unable to leave the building due to lockdown, accommodating any special request that we had if it was within their capacity. On top of that, they were friendly and helpful despite being more stressed than most of us probably were. I mean, they were literally living at their jobs and I don't think any of us would want that- so I have an immense amount of respect for them. They remembered our names and our orders and all the small preferences we had. I haven't experienced that level of hospitality anywhere else.
Once the lockdown restrictions relaxed and the hotel was once again accepting new guests, they naturally tightened their COVID precautions. This is of course a good thing and it is very reassuring to know that safety is a top priority for the hotel staff. However, I did feel at times they were enforcing rules for the sake of rules in situations where it really didn't make sense. For example, there is a group of us who have been staying at the hotel since the beginning of the lockdown. One evening we wanted to eat dinner together and play board games in the dining room (as we had been doing for many months), but we were told that it wasn't allowed due to social distancing guidelines. While I'm completely in support of social distancing, in this situation, it really served no purpose as we had been in contact with each other for months. I understand that the staff was simply enforcing the new safety precautions, but again, enforcing rules when they don't make sense doesn't benefit anybody. I'd encourage the staff to think about the purpose of these rules (to protect people from the spread of COVID) and prior to enforcing them blindly, evaluate whether or not they are applicable to the situation at hand.

Very nice place.. Good service... Pleasant view.. If you are fan of cooking, then they have full fledged kitchen.. Hotel will help you get groceries or you can bring them yourself.. Nothing beats eating warm self-made dinner with view of the lake...

Whilst it is a 'Marriott' but the service is very hit and miss. And some of the facilities are not in great order. Overall we liked the apartments because they were spacey and gave us a little bit more flexibility as we stayed with kids. But there is a lot of room for improvement.

A great hotel with a cosy feel while maintaining an executive hotel standard, I keep coming back here every time I'm in town. Worth considering for working trips and longer stays. A bit of an oasis hidden away from the rest of bustling Mumbai.

Really Bad service. Some staff think too superior of themselves.
Staff were looking exhausted while serving, looks they are running short of staff
No social distancing maintained during breakfast. Completely cramped up space. P

What can I say? Tired room with an unpleasant background smell (and this is an upgrade...), facilities like gym in the separate convention centre, kettle plug not fitting in to socket in kitchen, eventually worked out you have to take it to the bedroom to find a plug with which to heat some water.
Plus a pestering employee at breakfast in the hotel who didn't read body language and kept asking questions, I asked him for peace and quiet, so ten minutes later he came back again with a piece of cake to say sorry for disturbing me...disturbing me again. Service without thought or class.
Sorry to say it as I love the Marriott brand and I am a lifetime Platinum Elite but this hotel is not at the standard I expect from them - my least favourite of all their hotels I have stayed in.
I am flying out today and am off to the airport early as it will be a better experience...says it all. If you are a Marriott person, stay at the other two hotels in the area, particularly the Marriott Juhu if you can in preference to here.

Overall a good stay and a excellent view. The only concern i had was with the room size which is usually bigger with the hotel of this magnitude and price range. The front desk staff was very courteous and polite.

Absolutely everyone assured that our stay was the best and they succeeded!! From reception to waitstaff it could not have been better. Breakfast was above and beyond. Would for sure recommend. We were able to store bags when we traveled to Kathmandu, Nepal.

We waited 2 hours for check-in and was finally allocated a room at 5 pm. Checked out 9pm the same night!

We settled in the room. Used the toilet and tried to flush - no water!!!

Later we heard the cistern filling up, we flushed. Lo behold - sewage water backed up!!!!

This is the manager on duty told us this was the situation for the entire hotel and they had fixed it earlier in the day.

We called for the matter to be looked into and went off for dinner. Upon our return 2 hours later, we find the issue not resolved.
b) We had enquired with Front Office during dinner and was told the matter was resolved. We enquired twice. We were assured all was cleaned up.

We go up to our room and find sewage backing up again.

We call for assistance, twice, within a space of 20 minutes.

Three people turn up...an engineer, his supervisor and the duty manager (in the pic) to stand in the bathroom and flush the toilet several times.

They chat amongst themselves and turn to us and tell us all is fixed.

We were not convinced since the matter was not resolved in a two hour time frame earlier.

We asked the duty manager for a resolution and his reply was Madam, I am sorry but I can not do anything as the issue is fixed now.

We then asked to speak to a senior manager and was told that none of the senior managers were available.

Again, we asked for a resolution as we did not want to stay with a four year old in such unhygienic conditions. We asked to be moved to the Renaissance.

The manager in the pic said he can not do anything about it.

We then said we don t want to stay under such conditions and told him to prepare our bill as we were going to check out.

We packed our bags and checked out at 9 pm. We called the Westin and arranged a room.

The next day we met Puneet Goswami at the Westin, who heard us out. He then called the Director of Rooms at the Lakeside Chalet and told us to expect a call from them.

Today is the 3rd day. No call.

The infuriating thing is that the management at Lakeside Chalet knew about the system backing up and chose to check-in guests.

They also know that this constitutes a major health hazard and yet chose to subject people to such distressing and illegal situation.

Excellent hotel, with exceptional staff in all departments. Kudos to Roshna, Puneet and their front desk team for taking care of our every need; to Chef Charan for always preparing special dishes for us; to Onkar, Anil, Tsering, Sidhesh, and literally everyone else whose name I have missed for making our mornings start so well with a kingly breakfast. This is the place to stay if you want a homely feel, with a kitchenette, bedroom suite, and truly warm hospitality in the Mumbai area.

Awesome experience. Nice to stay and provisions are pretty good. Only washing machine facility is not good. For 22 rooms there is common room for washing with two washing machines and two driers. Rest everything is fine

Had a wonderful stay in 1BHK Queen. Got free upgrade to beautiful Lake view. Spacious apartment. Has a full length fridge, microwave/grill, gas stove and all cooking utensils. Lot of storage space. They gave us a free Birthday cake and did birthday decoration in the room. Hospitality was pretty good. Food was nice too. AC wasn't good in the bedroom during night times , other than that, wonderful stay.

Edit : reduced 1 star since staying here doesn't get you Marriott points and nights rewards. I booked in Renaissance and they shifted me here by surprise on the day I landed. No previous intimation and the impact wasn't explained. Should have done atleast for Marriott members who book via their website. Very lethargic and irresponsible behaviour.
