Remdal Painting & Restoration Review

I am very happy with the result of the interior hallway painting. Our project manager Ben Pilkey finished the project on time and looked after our interest throughout the project.

Remdal repainted one of our largest Vancouver parkades in 2015. Remdal coordinated their painting in a such a manner that the parkade did not need to be evacuated and tenant vehicles could remain in place, mitigating tenant impact and thereby creating a successful project. Remdal was professional and courteous throughout the process and we will (and have) used them since this project.

They moved all my planters and did not move them back. All planterts they moved away are heavy and it not possible for me to move them back myself. They left their junks on my patio and used my patio as their scaffolf storage for almost two weeks. Some of my plants are damaged.

I am a member of the Stratas Apartment Section and worked closely with Remdal during our recent exterior painting of two four story apartment condo buildings. I found the management was very easy to work with and responded quickly to any concerns or requests we had. The work was done quickly and the painting was well done. I would recommend them for a large painting job.

Remdal painted our 30 unit Condominium over a 4 week period this year. We were one of the first buildings to be painted during this time of Covid...our crew followed proper Covid protocols. All employees were easily identifiable with the Remdal logo on their shirts. Communication was excellent between Remdal and Council (daily updates with Council President) and weekly updates from the Project Manager).

We were extremely happy with our "crew's" work ethic. All crew employees (Project Manager: Colin, Paint Consultant: Ross, Site Foreman: Zsolt, Attila, Illia, Mona, Jag, Garrett).

Jose & crew from the Restoration Department repaired 2 of our decks and Jason (carpenter) completed new stairs and wood repairs.

Remdal went above what was expected performing minor extras...greatly appreciated. The weather was in our favor and all work was completed ahead of schedule.

Remdal recently painted the exterior of our stuccoed 43 unit condominium building. From initial initial consultation all the way through to final clean-up, we were impressed with their high degree of professionalism. The crew worked diligently and efficiently and were careful to keep our inconvenience to a minimum. The quality of the of the work is beyond satisfactory. We will be happy to recommend Remdal to anyone.

Remdal has done the exterior painting for our complex for the past 5 years, as always they did an exceptional job this year, the crew were very professional, and friendly, and I really enjoyed all my encounters with them. Remdals brand promise is "your project done right" and they lived up to that promise during our large refresh project at our strata complex over the last 4 months! As with any project this large problems will arise but its how those problems are dealt with that shows the true worth of any company. Ben, the project manager, went above and beyond to resolve issues in a professional, cost saving and timely manner. Besides overseeing the painting crews he also manged 3 other contractors (electrical, flooring, and locksmith), all 3 companies did a great job.
Remdals painting crews (Kevin, Stephan, Alberto & Paula, just to name a few) were dedicated, professional and it was obvious they all took great pride in a job well done!

I don't know what they are doing but I can here them on the 7th floor of the Royalton building where I am visiting my son- . they are very, very noisy, yelling at all times. They can be heard from the mall across and they stayed for a long time seemed to be "milking" the cow as they hosed down the floors of the balcony and hosed them down the second time and when it rained, supposed to be a good time to hose down the floors, they did nothing. It is annoying that everyone has to wait for the gate to close but these people were given access to the building and they had the key and all and they don't wait for the gate to close.

This was the 2nd time that Remdal has painted our 24 unit condo in Kitsilano and again earned a 5 Star rating. In fact, they were the only company that we considered for the latest painting (May 2017).

Everything was professional from the start to finish including the choosing of our new colours (which were then presented on sample boards for owners to vote on). Our building has many unique features and hard to reach areas but the team managed to paint them almost effortlessly. Their attention to detail is superior and their follow-up is excellent.

Obviously I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Remdal and we look forward to using them again in the future.

As President of the Strata when the job was done (Feb 2017) I was glad we chose Remdal. Both teams did a fantastic job. The teams were quick, efficient, polite, and easy to work with. There were minimal touch ups needed and Remdal was very accommodating to Owner's schedules. Highly recommend Remdal. They were great to work with and timely in their response and customer satisfaction was a high priority.

Cheap and poor workmanship very quick and try too corners and try and get away with one coat of paint plus not like their work is bad just watch out for them trying too cut corners and cost of man hours.the guy also charged me $150 for 2 gallons paint however market price is much lower,
Very disappointed no invoice and he requested cash.

Remdal did a masterful job painting our 28 home strata complex. They were professional from beginning to end of our project. We experienced excellent communication throughout so we always knew what and when things were going to happen. The quality of their work was outstanding due to the high level of experience of the leadership on the team and the expectations they set. That being said this company is stellar! The painters are professional, courteous, and seemingly happy in their work.
On one occasion when my husband and I came home from a walk our front door was taped off and a young man was painting around it. He offered to take down the plastic, which I'm sure took 10 minutes at least to put up, to let us in, when we said we could wait he asked us if we would mind waiting for 3 minutes while he finish up. Far less inconvenient for us than him.
Today, they were power washing and my skylight has never been so clean. The powder washer apologized because he couldn't get some black streaks off... they've been there for years through yearly "cleanings" and offered to rinse it again and rubbed it with his hand to try to get the ground in grime off.
It is so nice to have a group of painters make such effort to please at every turn.
The surprising part is this was the least expensive quote our complex received.

Remdal is an exciting example of professionalism and integrity. For over 20 years I've considered them to be top of the line.

Remdal was hired to paint multiple buildings in our strata this summer. Work started in May with an estimate completion date towards the end of June. Our unit was scheduled to be painted 3rd out of 4 buildings. Work started in June and then abruptly stopped in early July with them moving on the 4th building. We advised strata who informed us that Remdal had completed work on our unit and that the incomplete work would have to be submitted as "deficiencies". I have a very hard time relaying incomplete work as a deficiency. It is quite clear that Remdal did not have someone walk through all of the completed units to make sure they were completed. I now have a fight on my hands to get this work completed and am not happy.

Examples of incomplete work as found in the attached pictures:
- Gutters not put back into place
- None of the dark brown trim was painted at all
- Sprayed paint never painted over on white stucco

I hope at some point this year Remdal completes their work and will update my review accordingly.

July 2019 Update
It has been 10 months and we are still trying to get deficiencies completed. This has been the most frustrating experience.

Everything about This company is top class the service and quality of work for them painting my resort is second to none. I will be recommending this company to other resorts and business's in my area and have already booked them to come back for another phase next year. Just wondering if it is normal practice to cut people off and cross over in the middle of an intersection on 96th ave. So rude.

From the start, we were impressed with the professionalism of the quote and the speed of the service, not to mention the fair price for the work. The job was done on time, with no complaints from us about the way your people did their work or the appearance of our building. We heartily recommend Remdal and wouldn't hesitate to use their services for our next project later this year.

Our complex had Remdal paint our buildings. They did a very good job at a reasonable price.

Two years later, they sent a fellow to inspect the paint to see how it was holding up. He found a few things that needed fixing and they will be coming soon to do so.

I was amazed, as I thought this kind of customer service was long dead. What a wonderful surprise that they inspect their paint job a few years later. I am so impressed with this company and it makes you feel that Remdal really values and cares about it's customers.

Their painters are friendly and professional as well. We will be using Remdal again for sure.

Why settle for less when you can go with the best! A great painting and restoration company with very knowledgeable and friendly people.

Remdal completed the work on our condo building on time and in budget. They were very organized, professional and thorough. All the workers were friendly and easy to deal with. They took all our additional requests in their stride and let us know quickly when there was a problem. I would highly recommend them and would use their services again in the future!

REMDAL painting have just completed the power washing and painting of our Strata building(VAS 2487) on budget and ahead of schedule.Under the leadership of ARMANDO this was completed with the minimum of disruption and inconvenience.I have no hesitation in recommending this company to any other Strata requiring a professional painting contractor.

Unethical behaviour from one of their project managers. Over billed for services and when confronted, he said charges fluctuate as some jobs require more services. We agreed upon set dollar and IF the project is going to cost more, you discuss with me! You need to give people a heads up so we can see it coming. When I told him him this, he said I lacked common sense. Rude

Remdal has been painting a townhouse strata on my block for the last three weeks. There's one guy on a lift who seems to be doing a lot of the work. Every time he moves the lift, it beeps, loudly.
It's constant. All day long. I work at home and it's impossible for me to concentrate on anything.
When it comes time for my strata to repaint, Remdal will be bottom of the list. For my neighbourhood's sake.
