Regence BlueCross BlueShield of Utah Review

Hi i had to cancel an appointment i had scheduled for 6 months because it has been over 3 weeks since Open Enrollment and they have not sent my ID cards nor can they find me in their system. I love that we get to use this wonderful insurance system instead of having a public health program like the rest of the world.

I'm sure this review won't matter because I'm not really the insurance customer, my employer is. I am simply forced to use whatever company they tell me to or go bankrupt from medical bills, but it brings me a tiny little bit of joy to see their star rating drop ever so slightly because of my review.

In a just world, Regence would not exist. Burn in hell.

As with most insurance companies, they are a scam. All they do is deny payments. Find somewhere else - or better yet get an HSA and high deductible plan

They denied me for a life saving surgery because they claimed it wasnt congenital, even though we had proof that it was, but they still refused me. I highly don't recommend this insurance. I would give 0 stars if I could.

Wow, what a wonderful employee you have at Regence. Her name is Marti and she was professional ,empathetic and kind. She helped me wade through the mountain of bills I received and gave me important guidance on what I could do to help get my arms around the Scary situation I am in.
Her pointers and her knowledge probably helped me save my sanity and my savings.
Marti deserves a raise, Regency. She is a super .

If I could I would give them a zero they are the worst insurance. My wife had to go to the hospital to give birth to my kid and got the hospital bill shortly later and insurance hardly paid anything and according to their plan they are supposed to pay more so I called and they said give us a week and we will see what we can do I call a week later they said they need 4 Weeks before they can see what they can do. They are a waist of your time and business dont do insurance with them its more of a pain trying to get them to cover anything.

Eight weeks ago the cartilage in my knee gave out. My knee expanded to the size of a large grapefruit and walking normally became impossible. For two months, my doctor has tried to have me pre-authorized for surgery and we have been denied twice. I live in chronic pain, I can't walk without a cane or crutches, I can't sleep, and I can't take OTC pain meds because they are shredding my stomach. But according Regence BCBS minions Evicor, surgery is not medically necessary. It's better that I spend thousands on physical therapy that does nothing and continue damaging my body by falling or stumbling. A very carefully worded complaint is being sent to the insurance commissioner.

For the amount of money I pay for this insurance, you'd think there would be a single hospital that accepts it in SLC. Or that the health department would... Right now I'm paying hundreds of dollars a month for a worthless piece of plastic.

Jenny was so very helpful in getting one of my bills paid and figured out. She went above and beyond to investigate the situation and I just really appreciate her and the customer service

I have never dealt with a company that has so many issues. I don't know where to begin. Save yourself a lot of time and stress by going with another insurance company. They have issues ranging from payment/billing delays really long delays, small print contractual issues, to receiving different information from employees. All of these issues cause major financial burden on the customer and the customer is already paying a large monthly fee for having health insurance in the first place. I would give zero stars if I could.

I suffer some severe varicose veins. Met with a specialist who highly recommended to get surgery. Followed the procedures requested by the insurance, and yet they still decided to deny coverage because I did not experience "Persistent or recurrent bleeding from ruptured veins". What a joke! Seems like you have to be on the edge of death for them to start covering. What is the point of insurance companies if they don't play their part when they are needed. Just despicable.
