Incredible service, so flexible and fun. Good and drink were great, and we had such a good time we didn t realize it was so late when we left! Five star super service. Will definitely be back

Tasty lake-side restaurant specializing in seafood dishes and gorgeous views! Their selection of local craft beer, cocktails, wine, and whiskey are sure to quench everyone's thirst! Our favorites: "Rhubarb Smash" and their slightly spicy, "Holly Berry". We felt their house sangria had too much juice (strong on the mango). Whiskey to try: Eagle Rare (bourbon), Redbreast (Irish), or Copper Fox Rye.

For appetizers, definitely order: "Chesapeake Crab Dip", "Red's Chicken Wings" served w/ maple-siracha, or their delicious "Goat Cheese Fritters". - highly recommend. Just save room for dessert! Their ice cream sandwich was a tasty treat, but we have to try the "Crack Buns" next!

Red's Table offers a fun spot to hang out and have a good meal, either in their cocktail area or on their patio overlooking Lake Thoreau. Their kitchen is a bit slow so just make sure you bring good company!

Ordered a bunch of apps - calimari, salted beats...all great. My wife likes shandy's. When she tries to order them, most people don't know what they are. Shandy was a special and was great, refreshing. We shared the fried chicken entre and it was fantastic.

Excellent friendly service, very tasty wings and a quite acceptable house cabernet available by the glass. My companion and I enjoyed our time there, would be happy to return, and recommend it for anyone. We dined outside on the rear terrace.

Friendly staff and a solid menu that doesn't change all that frequently. Only reason it's 4 stars instead of 5 is I've found the food to be kind of hit or miss. I've always enjoyed my meals there, but some Reubens are definitely better than others.

We love Red's Table! We've always had great meals there and our wedding rehearsal dinner was great too! The staff was responsive and helpful in the planning process. They printed custom menus for our dinner and the private room space was perfect.

This place has become the go to place for me. Food is OK and when it's not then they will make sure it's OK. Chef is amazing as he will stop by to make sure you are satisfied with the order. Employees are amazing, everyone of them. Sit at the bar and Justin, Chase, Peter, Mark, Ian... They will all take care of you as if you are a family. There is never a "No" to nothing. Everything is possible and their drinks are mean and good. Jordan, he understands what customer service and customer satisfaction is. A true Buissness driven individual who only sees the true success in the end result. Making things run seamless is not easy but he does it seamlessly. They all are so loving with my daughter who is 18 months old to a point she calls them uncle and aunt by now, especially Kailey and Diana who go out of their way to put a smile on her face.
If you have an event, then do talk to Jordan and Ryan as they are very accommodating and easy to work with.

Ultimately, it's an amazing restaurant to be associated with, it's a family and they treat you like one...

From out of town visiting and looked like a nice place to eat. Chicken wings were undercooked. Called the manager and received worst explanation as to why that I ever heard. Just lost a customer and she didn't seem to care.

Well. This was not our favorite visit. I was in fact debating whether to give a two star rating to this visit. The food won out, particularly my fish.

We had a friendly welcome. The food was good to amazing. It was very loud. We were there at 7pm on a Saturday night, which is not when we usually come, and we knew it would be busier than some times we've been there. They need better sound baffles or something - the noise did not seem to be emanating from any one particular person or group of people. The worst part was our waiter. We've had worse at other restaurants but he was pretty bad: unfriendly, unhelpful, and inattentive. He was in fact unavailable to us much of the evening.

The food first, starting with the best, because the food was the highlight of our dinner. My spinach salad was excellent - flavorful, with a nice combination of ingredients and a tasty dressing. The fish on it was simply amazing: cooked rare, juicy, flavored nicely, with a nice crispy skin. I wanted more fish :) The entree salads were reasonable, neither teeny nor enormous. The cornbread muffins were a bit small but were warm and delicious and the butter was nice and soft. There was one for each of us. My husband liked his steak salad.

The desserts were small even for one. The key lime-pistachio pie was very good and limey. We had it with vanilla ice cream (miniscule scoops :( ) rather than the listed raspberry sorbet. The pie was so tangy that the sorbet would have been too much. The cookie dough-cookie ice cream sundae was okay but nothing special. The two tiny cookies (each about an inch and a half in diameter) were insufficient. Neither of us liked the soft cookie with the soft icing much; this would probably appeal more to kids.

Suggestions for making the food even better: larger cookies in the sundae; larger scoops of ice cream; pistachio or chocolate-pistachio ice cream with the key lime pie; skip the white-chocolate pearls. Slice and fan the fish out just before serving.

The service... As noted, the folks up front were very friendly and showed us right to a table. They even asked which of a couple of tables we would prefer. The waiter - whom we've seen there before; can't remember if we'd previously had him - came by not promptly enough and asked for our drink order. We both asked for hot green tea, plain. He winced and left. It took longer to get it than tea should take considering they don't brew it for you. We placed our dinner orders and waited and chatted. And waited.

While waiting, we noticed that a table across the aisle from us - who had come in after we did - got alcoholic or at least mixed drinks and had their bread basket. We did not have any bread basket yet. We had the same waiter. We were almost done with our first pots of tea by this time.

We were looking around for our waiter, to ask him to bring the bread, when a runner came toward us with our food. We mentioned the missing bread basket. This may have confused him, as he left with the food, but we soon after did get the bread basket with the two cornbread muffins, and our food came back.

For the rest of the meal, our waiter mostly avoided us. He would bring drinks or other things to the tables across from us while mostly not looking in our direction or even keeping his back to us(!) so we couldn't get his attention. Twice (three times?) during the evening we had to ask a food runner or someone else walking by to either bring us something or to get our waiter. We never did get the hot water refills we needed for our tea during dessert.

What did he do well? He got all of our orders correct. He brought the check promptly. He applied the coupon accurately and with no complaints. When we added a second dessert he didn't fuss over it. He didn't spill anything, though he did break a glass at another table across from us.

While I would come back for the food (especially more of that fish!), I would try to avoid that waiter in the future. He wasn't doing a professional enough job for a nice restaurant.

I was excited to check out the space. Born and raised in Reston i wanted to support a local owned business. I unfortunately left disappointed with the same sentiment expressed on many of the reviews below. The server and bartender seemed less then interested to give service even in an almost empty bar. The "custom cocktails" were missing pizazz. The 11 ingredient chowder could have used a few more ingredients. And the $17 fried chicken was just not worthy of being classified as fried chicken. The $7 side of mashed potatoes were flavorless. And we left everything on the table except the shrimp cocktail. Paid the check and walked out. All in all it was less then impressive and overpriced.

We eat out about 8 times a week at a variety of restaurants around the area and this one is just not up to par.

Everything from the cocktails to the food to the service was just missing something. Hoping that they can turn it around. The decor was well put together and the space was great. Would love to see the restaurant succeed.

One star for the view and one for the service being decent. Unfortunately the coconut shrimp was as oily as a used car salesman and had to be returned. The chicken in the chicken and waffles dish suffered the same fate as the doomed shrimp.

I had to think about this one before writing it. I really wanted to love our date night there--really love it--but it fell well short.

First the things we enjoyed. The staff was really friendly. Very personable. I love the local beers. It would be cool to see some local wines, too. The burger was perfectly cooked and flavorful, and (you might laugh at this) I would absolutely go back just for the Brussels sprouts. So many places make Brussies trying to be something else, like bacon or salt with a touch of Brussies, but Red's more than got it right. The atmosphere was also comfortable and an interesting blend of industrial swanky??

Things that were a miss: the service. We waited almost an hour for our dinner. Nothing fancy, just 2 burgers. Then waited another half hour for the check. The onion rings. They didn't taste oniony and were just blah. The batter was more chewy then crispy, strangely. They tasted more like clean fryer oil than anything else. Finally, the calamari. It was fresh, tender, with a nice, light, crispy batter, but the 2 sauces were meh at best. The marinara was bland, and the tartar-type sauce was a little better. The biggest problem, I think, was the sausage slices fried with the calamari were just off.

We will likely try it again and see if it was just an off night in general as I have heard good things. It wasn't blah enough to give it 3 stars, but it was closer to 3 than 5.

Great location by the lake, and good food and service overall. But if you want a tomato on your burger of Russian dressing on your Rubin sandwich, bring your own. The chef has some kind of thing against tomatoes; refuses to uses them when they're "out of season". On the upside, there's a supermarket in the same plaza...

Great place for food and drinks. Red's is a true gem tucked in reston and backs against a lake, so pretty. You can see views whether you are inside out.The selection is amazing, everything is fresh and has a high quality, not available elsewhere feel.

Inviting atmosphere with a view of the lake. Food seems a little overpriced. A very basic happy hour burger is $7 (fries or onion rings are $5 extra). The drinks are priced fairly with the draft of the day being only $4. Happy hour is from 3:30 to 7 which works for anyone. Cannot comment on the taste of the food but by the looks of it is like most bar food.

If you want to overpay for mediocre food then eat here. My husband and I tried this restaurant twice and both of us had less and stellar experiences each time. The restaurant is well decorated and has a beautiful outdoor space. But the point of a restaurant is to eat well... not look pretty.

When Red's first opened, we gave it a try. I ordered chicken and dumplings. My husband had a vegetarian pasta dish. My meal was so over-peppered I couldn't eat it. My husband's dish was so bland he decided to mix in my over-peppered food for flavor.

Tonight, we decided to give Red's Table a second chance after hearing it had a new chef. Sadly, the food is still the same combination of ill-seasoned, underwhelming and overpriced. I had a steak salad that had all of its ingredients stuck to the bottom of the plate. It's like they forgot to mixed the ingredients. My husband's salad was drenched in EVOO and then smothered in salt. It was as if someone prepared the ingredients on a salt lick.

Also, what's with their menu labeling dishes as vegetarian when they advertise bacon as an ingredient?

Never again.

Atmosphere and location are both lively. I've been to Red's 5 times now and have always had quality, polite service. Red's is a top choice for an enjoyable sit down dinner with the family, to happy hour with friends. Great to have something like this back in the area!

One of my favorite after work drink spots in all of Reston. Aside from a great happy hour menu, you get a pretty amazing view of the lake from the outside seating terrace. Best of all, you avoid the nonsense of parking-ticket-happy Reston Town Center.

Reds is not just a restaurant situated by a lake. It s a community, a tribe!

I just got lunch for my family today and it was not satisfying, it was superb.

As a local I know most of the staff and I can say they treat me the same as anyone that walks in the door, which is to say like family.

With the state of affairs in our great nation and whilst we are all doing what we have to; please if your going to order in .... support our local fam and give the folks at Reds your business.

They re salt of the earth people for sure - ref Jesu

Super friendly and prompt service! I sat at the bar working (free wifi, which is nice) for a while and had a few beers and fries (really tasty) so can't speak to the menu but they have a really excellent variety and list of local beers, and fair prices.

Tonite's meal, 10/21/17 between hours of 8:30 and 9:30 PM, can only be described as mediocre. A burger and fries - my burger was ordered to be medium rare and came from the kitchen as medium to well - ugly!!! Fries - over 1/2 of the order arrived over cooked. Poorest quality food ever! Not sure how they stay in business if this is the norm. Would have been great if the manager stopped by our table - saw him once as we came in and not again. What a shame that this neighborhood restaurant is such a bust!

I gave it 2 stars only because we had a good server.

Nice local restaurant with creative food choices. THey baked their own bread and desserts. Is lakeside so many tables have a nice view of the lake in Reston. Somewhat expensive but worth the price. Careful - you will find the food tastes might be very unique.

to start please forgive my English as its my fifth langue. we stop by this place after putting our dog down just so we can be out of the house. we order some drinks and we did not had an apatite to eat but we still order some food just so we wont be disrespectful to the establishment and our server. once our server found out that we are not going to order a large amount of food he stop serving us. we received what we ordered and we had no silver-wear to eat with, i had to go to the bar to get a refill for my drink. after being frustrated over the service i asked for the manager and i try to explain to him what is going on and see if he can help, about five min later our server came back and he was mad that i talked to his manager. do to the very bad day that we wear already having we decided to leave. the manager is the same as the owner... stay away from this place and spend your hard cash where you can get a good service. i do not like to talk bad about people or businesses and that is the reason i gave my self some time to leave this review. its been over a month and im no longer upset about this situation. however i like other people to know how the owner and the staff will tread you in this establishment.

I probably won't go back there. Had lunch with a friend a few weeks ago. Waiters were rushed and uninterested in us, dropping food down on our table on their way to doing something else. I had the worst Rueben I've ever had in my life -- lightly toasted dry bread, not grilled, fatty meat, very little dressing. Side salad was a clump of greens with barely any dressing. Nice view though if you are sitting outside.

The food & staff is as good as the view of lake from the patio. On a breezy evening this is where you should be. Things to try chicken and waffles, lamb bolognese, dry aged beef burger (their bun is different from regular bun).

The bare minimum to expect of a restaurant. Crabcakes that wanted for crab, service less interested than a drive-thru, a Manhattan that wanted for anything but burbuon. This is mostly a reminder to myself to never return.

Service is excellent and consistent. Food quality still is a work in progress, but definitely improving. We've seen some promising changes. I love coconut shrimp, but it should never be served overcooked and dry. Also the wine pours could be a little more generous for the price.
