Red Garter Hotel & Casino Reviews

Ordered prime rib, mine was supposed to be medium. I cut it up and fed it to the dogs. Left a $3 tip, never left a tip so low. Food was awful, employees were lounging around on benches out side the restaurant. The place was deserted for good reason. Didn't bother gambling. Very unlikely to return. The Rainbow isn't that far to walk. Sorry guys, lousy and not worth a 2nd chance.

Not the greatest place I've stayed.. The rooms are nice but there are no mini fridges or microwaves. When you stay out of town for work, those things are important

Love the new amazon fishing game. The rooms are beautiful since the remodel and the prospector cafe is better than ever.

Great breakfast prices compared to other casinos in the area

The room was nice. All the staff was friendly. The server at the dinner messed up my order. Was apologetic and offered to fix it. It was just too late at night to bother. The room was a little pricy. The tables were limited during daytime hours.

Only stayed 1 night, but being it was newly remodeled it was rather nice Nd comfortable.

Only place I've ever been at were 6 ounces of coffee cost $2 and refills were a separate purchase food was good service was lacking big time

Was a decent place to stay though they jacked the prices way up because of Speed Week. Oh and the cranky attitude of the woman who checked us in, we had just driven 9 hours and she was still crankier than either my husband or I.

This place has garbage of employees working. I went there a month ago and im diabetic an was playing on a table and had to eat because my sugar was low and a wana be pit boss lady came and grab my food and push it to the ground . She was the most repulsive person about it. And to top it she called security on me . And they notice she was on the wrong.

Just old,old..too dark for our tastes. Desperately needs remodeling. Prices of rooms cheap, but I would be wary.

Love the slots and the tables great place clean and very friendly

This is our favorite Casino in Wendover. It's small, gambling is good, and the staff is attentive.

*Update: management did reach out and addressed the situation and how it was handled.* We have stayed at this hotel a few times, but our most recent stay may not have us staying there again. They did offer us a discount on our room but I feel like our issue should have been taken care of when we notified the front desk. Our room was freezing cold due to the high winds and freezing cold air coming thru cracks in the window

We thought we would stay here and try out the new rooms but it was horrible from the get go. The girl at the check in desk was rude and ignorant. She threw the pen at me to sign my receipt. She thought she was funny and was smirking the whole time. We asked to speak to the manager about our experience and she was just as bad, in fact, we don't think she was the manager. Our room wasn't very clean. We didn't put a penny into the Casino! We went across the street to eat, and play! We will never go back to the Red Garter!

So sad to see 1 of my favorite towns get run by careless employees. Red garter use to be my favorite breakfast place and it's just awful service cold food and employees that just don't care. I have been coming here 15+ years and although I've moved 2 states away I make the effort to visit red garter :( the last 4 visits have just soured me the housekeeping is thoughtless and makes so much racket treating the hall ways as a screaming and yelling visiting time with each other. They seem to talk so loud that the vacuum is quiet. The rooms are remodeled but need some insulation to help noise level of the employees

Good place for a weekend get away with friends and family

This is an older hotel and casino. The staff seem bored and the decor is outdated. The service at the restaurant was mediocre. I prefer the newer hotels in the area.

The rooms were clean and the air conditioner kept us nice and cool.

I love the new upgrades they've done with this casino. The rooms are remodeled, brand new slots and tables. It was great.

It's a VERY old, outdated, dark casino. I did NOT like the look or the atmosphere! It's small & feels cramped even when there's very few people there. We didn't say longer than 30 minutes & left! I didn't like the place from the moment I walked in. The games have got to be as old as the town itself with a small handful of newish ones mixed in & those aren't even decent ones. It's dark, smokey and smells stale & has a strange vibe. Not my kind of place & I won't be going back!

Super cheap room if you have a CDL. Also gave coupons for meals and drinks at the casino. Plenty of room to park a truck and trailer. Rooms were simple but pretty decent especially for the money.

Overall good experience. The lady that I spoke with while booking my room was really nice. When I arrived, I was greeted and helped at the desk with no wait. We had dinner and breakfast at the Prospector care. Both meals were served fresh. Both servers were extremely polite, even though there was a longer wait for breakfast. The rooms have been updated and the beds are comfortable. The only concern was an emergency alarm that went off at 2:30 in the morning. There is no communication to notify visitors of the reason for the alarm. It went off for several minutes. The hotel could work on better sound-proofing the rooms. People are often rowdy as they walk down the hall at all hours of the night making it difficult to sleep.

I just returned from Wendover and we had supper at the Italian restaurant on Saturday night and I was very sick. I had the lettuce salad and Shrimp Scampi, the shrimp I questioned at the time I was eating. And now after returning home I am thinking it was food poison. My husband did not get ill but he ate something different than I. Beware

$9 .95 NY strip steak breakfast was the best, this was my first visit, I have no problem saying that I would go back again, with out hesitation.

Horrible service for buffet first gave our table away while we are getting our food, no refills on our drinks, five workers just went on by our table no syrup or customer service!

The room was OK. It was overpriced, however it was the start of speed week so that was to be expected. The food at the restaurant was good however the service was horrible.

Rooms are nice,go every month for UFC fights ,great hospitality, Great customer service!!!

Very good Casino I always win when I go there I love it

I visited the Red Garter for some drinks and gambling with my family. While the tables weren't especially kind (but really, when are they?) I had a great time and will definitely return.

It's a lot nicer now that they have redone the place

The lighting is way to dark, most of the machines don't work and it just seems dirty

A neccessary evil when you're looking for a room for SpeedWeek. Overpriced like everywhere in Wendover, the non-smoking rooms stank of stale smoke and this must be the only place in America that doesn't provide free broadband internet to it's guests...

On the flipside, the local MacDonalds is over the road, and they have free wifi. Of course if you're working and relying on the wifi, you might end up spending a bit of time in the carpark charging the laptop.

Nice place not very busy and they are always friendly

Rooms are small but the bed and tv are nice no carpets . Bathroom are shower no tub nice .

Room was decent and yes, recently remodeled but the hotel is fair at best and the staff incompetent. If we hadn't driven 500 miles and simply wanted a meal and a bed we would have gone on. Simply put, won't stay here again.

We had breakfast here at the prospector restaurant. Nice place, but bad service from waitress Maria. We sat for 30 min. Before she even acknowledged us. Whatever we asked for they were out of. They were supposedly out of English muffins then watched another waiter serve them to another customer afterwards. She never came around to check on us or bring us our check. You bet I didn't tip! Just hate being ignored when im paying for my meal!

The food is cheapest for sure. Doesn't taste bad either

We just drove out to gamble for a little while. We lost all of our money very quickly so we only spent about an hour in the casino before getting in the car and driving 2 hours home.

Great prime rib. Years ago the food was not very good, but our last visit things have changed and I think their food beats the other casinos hand down. Good food, good portions. Give em a try. Breakfast, lunch and dinner all great.

Waitresses suck on weekdays very few do there job and don't suck at It

NEW OWNERS RUINED IT!!! I've stayed here at least once a year for the past 25 years. I liked it because it was the least expensive hotel-casino on the Wendover strip. As recently as last August, I got a room for $56 on a weekday. I went there last month on a Wednesday and was given a rate of $104! The clerk explained that new owners took over and the rooms had been remodeled. As I had driven 600 miles that day, I was not in a mood to go looking around elsewhere. Well, the room I got was the same as the rooms have always been - NO improvement, only the price had been raised to an unreasonable level. This is a modest, 2 star motel.I will no longer stay here, and to the new owners, F-CK you, I hope you go out of business. You have ruined a good thing.

I order the huevos rancheros. What I received was three eggs and roast beef with jalapenos there was no tortilla no tortilla chips and no special sauce. When I explained to the waiter I was told me to calm down. The manager was very blase when I complained. I would not recommend eating at the Red garter ever.

What can you say best breakfast in Wendover. Gaming area is getting better a beans and brews sure helps. Kinda slow but that is to be expected. The remodeled room are good we got a tour of a couple of them. Still the service for the hotel is lacking. We talked with some of the people who stayed there and said the check in staff are a it difficult to work with. Over all not bad.

They have nice comfortable rooms. Small casino was fun too. Lots of variety in machines.

Went there for breakfast at the prospector cafe. The chicken fried steak was worth the stop.

Just went in for a drink. Seemed ok for the little amount of time I was there.
