Red Car Brewery Review

The staff were very nice, but I'm only giving them 2 stars because we waited over 30 minutes for 3 salads....

Great selections of microbrew beer (when they're not all out of a particular selection), at least passable food, very friendly service. Nice decor inside and out. Gets a bit noisy sometimes, especially when there is a band playing.

Excellent IPA brewed in house and excellent buffalo wings

Met a friend there for lunch. Food was good as was the service. We both had burgers

Great new menu! Same great food! A group of us have been coming here since the Torrance theatre started their season last year...the service is usually so so at best, but today was I delightful change. Our server was great! Keep up the good work!

Love the food here and the beer is good too. Their house IPA does the trick and tonight a buddy and I ordered almost their entire appetizer menu since we could decide.

Great Beer and sourdough bread. They also have a great pulled pork sandwich.

Loved this place!!! Came here for a rehearsal dinner and just had a great time!! Big group of us and we still had super attentive and fantastic service!!

I showed up a little late as my flight was delayed but when I got there our server was all over me getting me caught up with food and drinks and anything I needed.

The food was fantastic!!! The beer was cold and perfect!! They only make what they can store at the brewery so when it is gone it is gone so get there early if you have a favorite beer that might go quick!!

Unfortunately I didn't get to each much and only had a sip of beer and some wine because I was so late BUT what I had has me anxious to get back and have a full meal and try some more of the amazing beer they offer!!

We hosted a big event here for our church volunteers - rented out half of the restaurant. The owner was amazing and the staff kept their incredible food flowing for the whole 3 hour time we were there. Great Old Torrance location full of classic South Bay charm. Each and every new food I sampled there was incredible. Highly recommended.

Great spot for great food. Jimmy is the best waiter in so Cal. I just wished they opened a bit earlier during the week.

Great selection of beer, wide array of appetizer. Plenty of screens if you are interested in watching the game. Separate dining area a bit quieter than the bar but not a lot of sound isolation. Really recommend the porter if the dark side is appealing. Friendly staff, very accommodating!

If you wanna know what burger and pizza tastes like, Red Car is the place. Not too salty, not too sweet. Perfect place for families and friends!!!

Great beer, hands down best burger I've EVER eaten.

Good local brewery. Our server was very nice, but a bit shy; nevertheless, she was great the whole night. Their porter beer was really good. It had amazing coffee notes! Overall great body. We had Irish nachos, and a Bavarian pretzel... great simple appetizer to accompany good beer.

It's a nice atmosphere.
You can enjoy it alone.
The taste of the food is normal.
Maybe when you want to enjoy beer.

So damn bomb! Every item we tried was delicious! They're fried pickles though. Omg so damn good. Fair prices, great food and excellent service. I wish I didn't live an hour away cause this would be my spot.

Welcoming atmosphere, great food, and,of course, great beer. The staff is always warm and friendly. I wish that,though, condiments were provided at the time of the foods arrival.

You definitely have to get something with fries with it cuz I mean whatever seasoning is on the fries it's pretty awesome.
The Diablo chicken wrap was pretty good and not spicy so maybe it should be downgraded to Diablo's helper but definitely worth a shot.

I always try and stop in this place when I'm anywhere remotely in the South Bay Area. I have been eating here for years and the food is always wonderful. Interesting menu with lots of daily specials... a couple favorites are the Ahi salad and the garlic french fries. Check it out. I guarantee you won't be disappointed

The comfort food served is very good. Can't understand the negative comments on the "South Bay IPA". If you know beer, you know the IPA is a fantastic rendering of this style of ale. Unfiltered and delicious, it's one of my all-time favorites.

Good food, the beer was awesome. My cousin had a peanut butter and chocolate beer that was incredible. I went on a Tuesday and it was super slow.

Always a safe place for dinner. Love the bread and oil basket. Cool vibe. We always end up getting the same thing only because it's amazing.. blackened chicken pasta!

What can I say about Red Car? Great food? And even better service! Do yourself and come by just to meet the manager named Frankie! He's the best of the best in the service industry! Always on top of things and always a pleasure to speak to or ask questions to!

Food is good, beer is decent (but they're always out of the beer you want) and the service sucks.

I always try to stop here when ever I am in town. Great vibe, good food, good beer and the owner and staff are always friendly.

At first the hostess was being a snob very rude and bitchy,I let that slide our actual waiter I believe his name was jimmy was on point! !! He made our dinning experience very chill and lax no attitude just great service...as for the food it was very good as well.I ordered the deviled wings and south of the border pizza both very good. I definitely will come back I just hope the hostess was having an off night I guess we are all entitled to that every now and then

been going to the Red Car for about nine years now it's our friday night dinner house, we go for the clam chowder always good,haven't had a bad meal yet service is always good very friendly. the micro beer is always the finisher.

The menu offers a large selection from which to choose, however, there are, also, weekly specials that run every weekday. I should mention the Happy Hour bar menu which has six to eight tasty selections at a great price. My favorite are Bob's mini tacos. I prefer the beef tacos and I wish that they would put them on the regular menu, they are that good.

The real star of the establishment is the ale. They are all good and even better than good. Particularly the IPA, the India Pale Ale. Bob has crafted one of the best IPA's in the world. A west coast style (very hoppy) IPA that does and will bring IPA enthusiasts from all over to enjoy. Fortunately, one can enjoy the IPA, as well as any of the other outstanding ales, at home due to the availability of the growlers. Then again, the pub is an enjoyable place to have your ale. A friendly and attentive staff makes it a comfortable environment whether in or outside the restaurant area or sitting at the bar. The bar is separated from the restaurant by a decorative wall that has enough open areas and glass to enable patrons to see the other side, yet still feel separated from each other. Situated in Old Torrance, just off Torrance Blvd., it has a free parking lot next to it as well as free street parking in front. The building is an old power company building that has a semi-industrial feel inside, yet comfortable. There are outside tables and chairs if you wish to eat/drink outside.

Good beer, although not a large selection. The pizza is very good I had the meat-lovers. It is large enough for two people. The service is friendly and efficient. I ll return again if in the area.

Haven't been there to eat inside(patio) in a while. It was cold. Later got warm as we got a heather. Food and service were great as always.

I had stopped going to Red Car Brewing a few years ago when they changed the menu. They had a great sandwich called the "Dagwood"
It was great.
So I went back to see if the menu has gotten any better. Will the beer is still good BUT the food leaves a lot to be desired.
I got a Pizza it was colder than the beer. It had to have been made several hours earlier.
Guess I will have to wait a few more years and hope the food gets better.

An excellent microbrewery, has a great selection of craft beer and a good menu. This brewery has a historic feel in an old trolley car barn and honors the old Los Angeles Pacific Electric Railway. Highly recommended when in Torrance, and you'll enjoy this place. Great bar staff, as well.

The food is great & so's the beer. What's not to like?

Red Car Brewery supports the Torrance Rose Float Association. Dinner was tasty. We even got to watch some Olympic ice skating

So happy with Red Car's service tonight! It was a pretty big party with separate checks & lots of kids and they pulled it off without a hitch!

I haven't been here in a few years. The menu has changed a little since then. Still has the greatest red beer I've ever drank! Large portions on all the food. My husband for the Sheppard's Pie, but it was not what he was expecting. Not authentic at all, more like a stew with way too much gravy. Everything else was really good, though. I had the Pad Thai dish and my mother-in-law had Fish & Chips. We shared the Apple Crisp for dessert. It was delicious! A really great restaurant!

I can't say I love the beer here. Maybe I just don't like the English?
The beer here are made with English barley, English Yeast, English wheat.
Thought I would try a sampler of their beers here.
The color looks like the beer is unfiltered and oddly enough, all the beers seem to taste the same. The South Bay IPA doesn't quite taste like an IPA, doesn't quite have the usual bitterness. The South Loop porter wasn't bad but it didn't have the sweet taste associated with the porter. Red Car will also have something special not on the regular menu. I couldn't remember what I got but again, it tasted like one of the regular brews.

I like the large area parking lot and the design and layout of the restaurant. It has that nice cozy bar feel. Overall, I think it's a nice place for you and your friends to hang out, eat a few things, but maybe after drinking beers from other local breweries in the southbay.

Every visit here is great! We have tried most of the menu by now and have never been disappointed. The specials are always awesome and change periodically. Beers are all good and match well with the food. Best combo: South Bay IPA and the Fish and Chips

Great beer, great food. The WiFi sign was misleading -- it's not free, even to customers; and it's Time Warner Cable *blech*.

Had dinner ordered the southwest bbq chicken salad was very good , usually order the signature Red Car salad and add a chicken breast this also is a very good salad. They have many yummy dishes sometimes it's hard to choose .
Beers are very good also my favorites are the motor man or the big red .
Although many people like Bob's IPA.
So go and have some food and drink and enjoy outside dining

We've been visiting Red Car for years and have always enjoyed the food and the service. They offer large portions of creative, well-prepared dishes, not at all your typical pub grub, and usually have 5 or so specials every day. (One of today's specials, Red Car's take on the Cuban sandwich, was tasty and satisfying) The original South Bay brewery, Red Car's beer and ale are brewed in the English style (which can be an acquired taste) but they are very well made. Give Red Car Brewery a try... we're pretty sure you'll like it!

Service is touch and go. Food is great and big in portion. The free bread they occasional serve you is AMAZING. Worth asking for if they don't bring it out when you first sit down. Beer is good but they don't keep each type in stock.

Always greeted by friendly host/hostess. Food is excellent and service the same. Easy to park.

Amazing staff, delicious food, and great beer! I come here at least once a week. I really enjoy sitting at the bar, and enjoying a Big Red Ale with pizza or a sandwich. I've tried about 70% of their food and haven't been disappointed. They also have a menu that's changes periodically, depending on the season or holidays.

Another great experience. Friendly and responsive bartender. Owner came out to chat with us at the bar. Great batch of Motorman on tap. North Coast Scrimshaw on tap right now too which is nice.

Great service and hand sanitizers everywhere! They are only allowing outdoor seating due to current pandamic. Nice cozy outdoor seating areas and super clean restroom. I tried their chicken BBQ pizza and fish n chips. It was delicious! Big chunk of fresh fish, battered perfectly and served with fries. Great beer selections and lots of parking. The only downside was people next to our table was coughing..... We took our food and bounced! It's open seating, lots of tables but they decided to sit next to us..... Oh well.

Considering the fact that there are no places to sit and enjoy a beer, Red Car Brewery has made it possible to do just that enjoy a beer!!!
This was very refreshing to be able to sit and eat an amazing meal plus enjoy a very highly recommended beer by Christine my hostess which was very enjoyable, strong, and best off all no super strong IPA aftertaste. Great choice I believe it's their Red Car house Brew you gotta try it does not disappoint. Christine mentioned that they might be getting a live venue for outside if they do that would be awesome! Great service, food, as well as amazing brews nicely done Red Car Brewery.

The atmosphere was very nice and delicious, but it's a pity that the waiter didn't come immediately even if he called me if it wasn't enough. Not very friendly.

I had a wonderful in this restaurant. We liked the awesome environment and the meals. The staff were super personal. I m content we eventually managed to visit here.

Lovely place, its actually a restaurant/bar, a bit nosy. The food was quite good. The beer drinkers amongst us, really enjoyed it. And our server and the staff was very friendly and professional.

I was not super impressed by Red Car... it was just meh in my opinion. The brewery is cute out front and has a very large parking lot, clean restrooms, etc. But there was nothing particularly special about the inside. We came just for beer and I thought it was pretty sub-par. A pitcher easily filled 4 glasses and they did have other options besides their own brews, next time I'd try something else. I didn't try the food so can't speak to that.

Always a great time here! They brew there own beer (all are good). Everyone is super nice from the hostess to the owners. Every time I go in I always feel welcomed and feel at home. Bar area has 4 large Tv's for what ever game may be on(four smaller ones in the dinning area as well). Happy hour in the bar is great as well. They have special menu items that change weekly. Dinning area can accommodate large groups (just try to call ahead for advanced notice).

You can enjoy craft beer in the quaint store.
The lunch menu also has a lot of volume, so maybe it's a bit larger for Japanese people?

One of my favorite joints in Torrance. Been going here for the last 2+ years, it's a nice establishment with very good service, a very good menu (the 'diablo' wrap and red car club are among their best dishes) and decent beverage selection. A good place to visit.

Just ok. The food was acceptable.
The beer (IPA) only served to disappoint.
