Consistent excellent food, salads, and service! Their seafood is ALWAYS fresh and their martini s are shaken tableside.
Definitely worth visiting if you like seafood and it's your birthday! Birthdays = 1/#people in your dining party off the bill (so 50% off for 2 people, 33% off for 3...). The whitefish and the crab cakes are excellent! The jambalaya looked amazing, too.
I took myself to lunch on December 26, 2018. I enjoyed myself tremendously! My server James was very nice, personable and helpful. The food -- king crab legs, red skins, salad, and for dessert key lime pie and brandy infused Chocolate mousse. Oh my goodness everything was delicious!
Great seafood. Service was a little slow for an evening that didn't strum busy.
We had the Blue Plate special and Paella Valencia. Both were top notch. The crab cake flavor was sublime! For dessert the key lime tart was a hit with just the right amount of sweet and tart.
Great food overall. Delicious seafood and appetizers and great service. But small things could be better. At some point there was a really cold draft of air where we were sitting, the bread and butter before the meal wasnt satisfactory, food took too long to come and the sangria could be better.
For a restaurant called Real Seafood Company, it's a shame that a waiter can't tell the difference between salmon and white fish. Had it returned back to the kitchen. When salmon came out 15 min later, it was half raw inside, and tasteless. Wish I kept the white fish. The other order of stuffed flounder barely contained any flounder, only the stuffing and thin, burned, crust of the fish. And the $28 charge for a flounder is outrageous. Will never go back.
Some of the dishes we ordered were delicious especially the BBQ salmon. The portions were on the smaller side so we weren't full after dinner. The atmosphere was OK. Kind of felt like a cafeteria. But the waiters were very friendly. Overall it's a good place to try but not my favorite in Ann Arbor.
they need to change their coleslaw to sweeter creamier crispier
I started with the fried calamari as the appetizer. I had the Chilean Sea Bass with the new Adobo mango salsa. For dessert I had the pumpkin cheesecake. Another wonderful dining experience at the Real Seafood Company.
Good food and nice environment. Feels a little corporate to me. Again, the restaurants surrounding it are all owned by the same person
Good food, good drinks. Great for special occasions.
Love the food, but not worth getting second degree burns. You need to either a) NOT serve something that's BURNING HOT. b) Tell the client's that what you are serving is BURNING HOT. I'm a 40 yr old man, I can handle the pain it caused me all night after dinner but it would be a very different story had it been a child. Train your staff!
This was my first time here and I will tell you that I am very impressed it takes a lot to impress me from the second I walked in till the time we left we had amazing service amazing food great pricing Walter the general manager even came up to our table to introduce himself and had a little chat with us very nice of him highly recommend this place
I really loved the environment here - we sat near the front right inside the open wall. My friend and I shared the paella valenciana. It didn't have very much rice at all and had great flavor, but the seafood and chicken were a little dry. In addition, on Sunday's, they don't serve lunch portions of anything so come ready to eat a dinner portion.
Their starting bread is phenomenal!
Today is my birthday. I been going to real seafood for 27years. On my birthday. Lobster and filet mignon it was excellent. Love it
Food and drink was fantastic. Great safety protocols in place.
Fix the fish smell. Decent food. They should expand the raw/exotic portion of the menu.
Happy hour was happy, a Margarita & Blue Pte. Oysters followed by Manhattan Seafood Chowder. Then an amazing Jambalaya with Grilled Brussel Sprouts in a Maple Balsamic Vinaigrette. Topped off with Keylime Pie ! Such an array of flavors that it was like a symphony being played on my taste buds.
Plus a friendly staff and great service ! I will be back !
Great Happy Hour. Drinks are good. Fish tacos excellent.
I remember eating here for my 21st birthday. We were pretty much the only ones there because of a polar vortex, but the waitress was not super friendly, and she didn t give me back my license so I had to come back the next day to retrieve More
My girlfriend and I went here for Valentine s Day. Their special menu was very fun especially the pearl they included with the oysters we had for a starter. Understandably it was a busy day but the paella I ordered was extremely salty and the half lobster lacked meat. All in all, however, the atmosphere was nice and it was an enjoyable dining experience.
Another great celebration meal at Real Seafood Company! An Ann Arbor original! Great food. Great service.
We were in ann abor for the weekend and made reservations for dinner here. If you can ask for a table on the patio. We had the lobster bites for an appetizer and it was very good. I ordered the talapia and it was undercooked. I told our server and she had a new meal sent out that was perfect. They took the price of my meal off the bill. I would recommend this place and plan on returning the next time we are in town
It was a Sunday and we were out for my mother's birthday. We were a table of six, so a manageable party. The server was friendly, but I should preface this review by saying we were in a bit of a hurry. We instructed the wait staff that we needed to by out the door in an hour and thirty minutes. "Okay, no problem."
The first impression of this restaurant is great: wonderful menu, friendly waitstaff, clean dining floor, and great decor. Throughout the night, our experience just couldn't live up to the first impression. The waitstaff was understaffed, the food was cold and flavorless, and the food longer than we had hoped.
If I had gone to any other restaurant, I may not have written this review, but when you go to a Main Street restaurant, you pay Main Street prices When you pay Main Street prices, you expect the experience to live up the prestige. This was not the case.
I believe there are better options around the city. Needless to say, I was disappointed.
Great food. Phenomenal service. Outdoor seating available in warmer months. Heart of Ann Arbor. One of my favorite spots.
Order 4 lobster roll dinners, be honest, did you just run put of lobster?
Overall it was under par. Kitchen staff can be heard from the street. Complaints are ignored by the server & the food is nothing to write home about. Potatoes were raw in the soup! Obviously the chef never tried it!
It was our anniversary dinner.we wanted to eat somewhere nice. We have eaten here many a time and the food has always been excellent.. I have consider this place a 5 Star restaurant. Who ever our chef was I would not call him a cook.. our Seafood Alfredo was terrible. Th,,,,e poached salmon was dry which usually melts in your mouth. The scallops were rubbery and over cooked. The noodles tasted like old reheated noodles. I do not blame my bad experience on the restaurant, I blame the chief who cooked our food. SHAME ON YOU.Shame on you.The chef even forgot to put the Afredo sause on my wife's SeafoodAlfredo.
Wasn't the best. Drinks were watered down. Food was sub par. Menu to big for the cooks to make a complete meal.
Excellent food and wait staff was friendly and efficient. The bread is my weakness.
Went for my Birthday and was very disappointed. This was always our go to restaurant for us. My husband got the blue plate special. He got half of the food he used to get. I got the lobster rolls. The roll was burned on half of the bun. I didn t taste any lobster at all. Lettuce, and celery only. I don t know what happened to the clam chowder soup. It wasn t the same soup. It was tasteless. I used to get the fettuccine Alfredo, but the last time I got that it was grey not white. So I didn t want to get that again. And you do not get free dessert for your birthday anymore either. The only reason to go back would be the salad. And that s not a reason to want to go back.
I love this place! Never have I had a bad experience. The service is always great, even when the restaurant is jam packed. I just had lunch there. Shay was my server. She was very informative, helpful and attentive. I will keep coming back
Great food, a little expensive, but some good happy hour specials and one of the better places to sit outside.
Every time we go there the service and food are as always EXCEPTIONAL!
We had a bunch of appetizers. Escagit, crab stuffed avocado and calamari. It was amazing! Everything was very flavorful. We will definitely come back!
Great food! AC was turned up a bit high so take a sweater. Our waitress was efficient, but never cracked a smile. We enjoyed ourselves in spite of that.
Service was top notch. They accommodated our parties allergies without an issue
Was very pleasantly surprised by the seafood alfredo
Good service foods decent but a little high for the portions
Chilean seabass with miso whatever whatever is a life-changing experience.
Great tasty food. Waiter definitely knew menu well. Friendly. Beautiful view . Loved it
As Always, Our Waiter, Eric took Very Good Care of us. We had a Feast fit for a King!!
Amazing experience. Some of the best seafood I've ever had. Everything I tried was tasty, however, the crab cakes were very impressive. Great deals for your birthday as well. Service was awesome too!
Haven't been in 30 years. Went for Lobster Fest. Great food and perfect spot for catching up with friends. The bisque was best I've ever had. I won't wait another 30 years to visit again.
Reasonable price for great food. I went when the food festival was in town for Ann arbor and even though they were busy, the service was great.
Amazing first time experience their fried Brussel sprouts are wonderful!! We will be back again.
The new updates are beautiful at the Ann Arbor Real Seafood location. It was much needed in the last couple years! The food and service has always been amazing, so our experience was fantastic overall! My husband and I had our first date here on May 15, 1994, so we ve been coming around for 25 years. Our table of 6 ordered salmon, scallops, stuffed flounder, chicken pecan and calamari. All delicious! Our server was great! We had a reservation issue and management corrected it right away. Thank you, my brother had a great birthday experience!!
First time dinning here. We have lived in Ann Arbor since 1999 and never thought of this place. Food was great but server was amazing. Terrance did everything possible to make sure my birthday was top priority. I would say he made it more of an experience than a nice of great service. We will be back for the Seafood and Terrance of course. Two thumbs up
Wonderful service, food eas great and they still do the birthday discount. I will always go there for my birthday and to introduce other people too.
The server that we had(Taylor)was great and made my wife's Birthday a great day. Again Taylor thank you for your great service and recommendations
Super friendly staff and great service. Five meals were basically inedible.
I took my husband here for his birthday on a friend's suggestion. I must say I was quite impressed. Happy hour cocktails were on point, the food was good and the service from Julia exceptional! I'll be going back!
Excellent atmosphere great food I would suggest ordering the king crab legs. get there early for dinner as a place fills up fast.
Atmosphere, service, and excellent seafood, exquisitely prepared make this a favorite of ours. Enjoy the birthday discount (only on the exact date, and must bring ID proof).
It was okay, overpriced but the staff is nice and if you order the lobster the will crack it for you
Great food and excellent service by our waiter, James!!!
Made a reservation but left after no one visited the table after 20 minutes of arriving. If you can t service me, don t take my reservation saying you can!
Service was nice. Location was clean. I wasn't impressed with dish I ordered. Food is pricey.
I ordered the Maine scallops because they were out of the Mediterranean whole fish. The scallops were bland & tasted like it was boiled. The rest of my family had the same experience with different entrees. Too pricey for below average food. Service was good. Try to get a table in the front by the street. The tables in the back are by the kitchen. Not a good view.
To start we were rather disappointed in the atmosphere of the restaurant as it is out dated and not up to par with other restaurants that are at this price for food. To start we tried both the creamy New England clam chowder and the Manhattan seafood chowder both are very good options depending upon your taste and would be perfect for lunch. For the main entrees my husband had the blackened swordfish which he found over cooked and not very tasty overall. I had the miso glazed Chilean sea bass which was cooked perfectly and the flavors were amazing. We also split an order of the famous blue cheese scallops which we were concerned would over power the delicate scallops and unfortunately we were spot on with this assumption. Overall, due to the atmosphere and only having one really phenomenal dish, we will more than likely not be returning, especially considering the prices.
The food is always good to great. I usually have the blue cheese scallops which are on the great end of the spectrum. My companion had the kale salad which was very generous despite a compact presentation. The rolls are always good and the service has always been great. Go here on your birthday!
A favorite restaurant that has never wavered in perfection during the 35+ years we have been going there.
More vegan options would be much appreciated. The gazpacho bowl didn't seem much larger than the cup, not worth price IMHO.
Food is flavorful and atmosphere is pleasant. Some things on the menu were misleadingly implied to be spicy. Good deal if it's your birthday. 50% off food with no need for a coupon. You do need to present ID.
