If you haven't been to Ray's yet. Than you owe it to yourself to go and give it a try. It's been around for many decades now and for good reason. The food is excellent, the environment is classic, the service is great and the view is perfect. A perennial favorite of people in the region for that special meal or just a nice summer day at the bar, on the deck! If you have guests coming into town that want to eat at a true northwest restaurant that serves local seafood. Look no further and bring them to Ray's. By the way... the parking is on the pier itself with a valet service if you choose.

Deep fried cod that you could get at Skippers. One bite was all I took, same for the wife. Four scallops plopped on some pasta. I really expected something a bit special but was really disappointed. The drinks were good and the setting is amazing, A star each for drinks and a sunset. The food,...just one.

Fabulous view, excellent service, outstanding preparation of seafood. Northwest with Asian and Mexican influences. Good wine list. Nice cocktail menu, plus some nice non-alcoholic drinks, including a house-made shrub.

Wonderful views of the water, plenty of parking. A fixture on the Ballard waterfront. Their menu, while not extensive, includes some great some great seafood, as well as salad options. Nothing spectacular, but a very solid option.

What can I say about Ray's? I took my husband and some friends for birthday dinner. The food was delicious, service professional & we had a great view of the sound & Olympics. Relaxed & relatively quiet ambience so we could actually hear each other. Our friends are still talking about how much they enjoyed the evening. My favorites we're the mussels and the 30 year old Port.

Had a wonderful dinner there with in-laws, we ordered different entrees so that we can share, scallops with ink spaghetti's, salmon, sable fish, and steak, they all came out tasty and with good portion. Service was good too. And did I mention the waterfront view? It was awesome :)

Really enjoyed our meal at Ray's! My wife and I always look for restaurants on the coast so we can watch the boat traffic while eating. Ray's did not disappoint! With the close proximity to the locks, there was a fairly steady flow of a variety of boats. We really enjoyed the brie & apple plate for an appetizer! I had the clam chowder. My son and I both had salmon sandwiches and my wife had the sea scallops on squid ink spaghetti! All were presented well and delicious!

I've been going here for literally decades. Their quality had always been consistently excellent. The salmon and chioppino are our favorites. Some of the best salmon to be had in Seattle.

Top 3: the ginger garlic green beans, the ginger garlic green beans, and the ginger garlic green beans! Seriously though, I wasn't very hungry after two weeks of eating the best of the PNW and really just wanted a big serving of veggies to get a jump start on eating normal again once our trip is over. Our server suggested the green beans and all others will be held to this standard. The half chicken dish with brussel sprouts, spatzle and a so yum glaze was unique and perfect. The bread and butter was too, tbh. We shared the puffed pastries with gruyere for an appetizer much to everyone's pleasure. My mom said the chowder was good but spicy.

Veg options: not many but my diaghter said the Ceaser was the beat she ever had--and those green beans!!!

In summary, excellent food with full fine dining service. Lovely ambiance, cool art and decor, full window waterfront views. I will be back when I'm in town again (to eat those green beans!)!

I went here for a special occasion. It was awesome. We were treated with excellent service, amazing views and what I thought was excellent food.
So I had a special white salmon and while I'm not a big salmon guy, it was a-freaking-mazing
My son had scallops and for me the red sauce did distract from the scallops but I appreciate trying new ways of serving a dish. The other dishes we had we both excellent and I was at capital grill the night before and Ray's Caesar salad took the win! Very well dressed and a perfect flavor.
While I cannot afford to come here very often, it will stay on my short list of places to go for special occasions

By the way, for the over 21 crowd, think happy hour upstairs!!!!

Many thanks to the team at Ray's !!!

Oh and those "bad reviews" that say they ran out of fish.... that's because they only have fresh fish and when it's gone - it's gone (till the boat comes back in) DUH
Boo for posting a bad review for that, maybe you prefer a guaranteed fish filet like a frozen patty at the fast food joints (rant off)

Love this place. Can not recommend the sable fish enough. Moderately pricey but more than with it. Beautiful views. Parking is somewhat limited and fills quickly. Also recommend reservations during peak season.

Love the happy hour at this iconic restaurant that sits at the edge of Puget Sound. The fact that it sits at the mouth of the Lake Washington Ship Canal, where you can watch ships of every imaginable shape and size pass by is an extra bonus. Also love that they have my favorite beer on tap Georgetown Brewer's Mannies.
